- Hey guys in this video I am living like a local with an Egyptian family. I take a scenic bus tour along the coast of Alexandria and make it to the Citadel of Quaitbay. Afterwards, I make it to the Ancient Roman Amphitheatre of Alexandria. At the end of the day I meet all of my host family and have dinner together.

It reminds me of the streets of San Salvador the crowds the noisy transportation, and the Vendors on the street greetings from New Jersey, by the way I’m salvadorean and I have an Egiptian friend we known each other for 20 years.

Hi Jose I enjoyed watching your video but as an Egyptian American who has lived in Egypt for a number of years and who has visited many many times, let me point out a few cultural no nos. First , many Muslim women in Hijab don't like to be filmed . 2 ) kissing too is usually off limits. But you met a family that has lived overseas or used to meeting foreigners. Good for you. 3 ) now I wear my economist hat. When you say the the khosari didh is is CHEAP , what are you comparing it to? Your American income? Say 2400 dollars a month? Well as of this writing, ( 1 /23) the Egyptian pound has be devalued about 60 % since March of 22. Which means that inflation is galloping ahead yet wages ( especially Government workers and pensioners ) haven't kept up. To say that the average government work is getting 3000 pounds a month which is equivalent to about 100 dollars , makes that khosiri dish expensive for the average man in the street.
