24:00 Just a small tip: these prices are much more expensive compared to the UK, comparing the prices in relation with the minimum wage of each country. You feel this difference just because you came from a country that has a much stronger currency and much higher income. For example, one bar of chocolate is 40 EGP, which is almost 1%, or higher, of the minimum wage in Egypt, which is not specified or standardised by any means. [Offcially it's 6,000 per month, but this is not the reality.] There's people that get a 3000 EGP per month salary. On the other hand, in the UK, a chocolate bar costs 0.825 pounds, which is 0.045% of the minimum wage. giving that a 11.44 pound per hour minimum wage in the UK. To have the benefits of both worlds, you have to live in Egypt while having a salary like in the UK. and this is not so possible.

Expensive or cheap is calculated based on the income level of citizens. The average income level in Egypt is approximately $80 per month, so everything is expensive for citizens according to the income level.
Life in Egypt is extremely expensive for Egyptians because of low currency value and very low income. There are many people in Egypt below the poverty level with less than $1200 annual income
vast majority here in egypt earn from 20 to 40 dollars monthly, not the "average" at all.. maybe you are talking about large governorates such as alex or cairo but not all is same as alex or cairo.. not including government jobs which is only 5% of whole population or less

If i felt i was being taken advantage off then that was another story! The mosque Sidi Morsi Abu al Abbas is gorgeous inside! Eat fateer if you can! Did u take the train to Alex?
As an Egyptian, yeah, Cairo is sooo soo soo chaotic, Alexandria is in between, but most other towns are way chiller than both. Go to Port Said, Marsa Matrouh, Dahab, etc.. there is so chill even compared to Alexandria. Note: Alexandria is not a town, it's a big city of 10 million+ inhabitants.

I am still able to make a living and take care of my children although everything for me is expensive from rent, bills, food, clothes, car insurance and petrol. So comparing the price is not fare for Egyptian citizens as you need to look at their income and their essentials expenses.
In regards to prices you can get even more reasonable prices by shopping at your local small deli and from a local butcher, and the fruit and vegetables shops, just like most regular egyptian. Most regular Egyptians can't afford big supermarkets, those cater for the upper class
Also you passed free historical buildings including the court , hospital , palace of king . You should also try Alexandria ice cream (gelato or gelata like Italian ice cream)... Romanian and creek museum .... Romanian theater were very close for ... I'm living in London enjoying the history there. Egyptian are very friendly people
The idea of comparing prices is interesting, but you have to take into account the difference in wage levels between both countries, as well as the difference in the price of "factors of production". 1 kilogram of chicken for 249 Egyptian pounds may sound cheap for you when converting it to British sterlings, but for an Egyptian citizen this is one quarter of a thousand. Many Egyptians earn less than 3000 EGP per month, which makes those 249 EGP extremely precious for them. Also, the "factors of production" involved in producing that bar of Cadbury or that bottle of Heinz tomato ketchup are much cheaper in Egypt, given the fact that all those brands are manufactured locally using Egyptian workers (with low wages), transported on Egyptian trucks, sold at Egyptian stores. All this reduces the final price of the product when compared to the UK.

For your information, it is very difficult to evaluate Egyptian food because there is more than one method for each dish. For example, liver has four or five completely different ways of tasting, as well as beans, falafel, and all foods without exception. Enjoy
The cost of the half-hour tour for Egyptians is only 100 pounds. I think the price of 200 is acceptable to non-Egyptians - but I wish I was there. I would have paid you. Welcome to Egypt 11:34 ( Alexandria tram was established about 165 years ago. )
There is a difference in average income, even your companies know this, so they will not display their goods at the same prices, otherwise they will not sell. Do you understand?

guys they mean that egypt is a cheap place for tourism and for the remote workers can live in a country which is safe and more cheaper in their country and with many pretty natural attractions so it is EGYPT ,, they all know the difference the salaries they are not uneducated they are from England the country of igcse and ielts they sell there education ,, happy visit to Egypt you guys
I would like to write a notice and is that the products are really cheapest more than in UK but for just only The UK's unlike Egyptians who get a weak salaries comparing the prices of the product they have at the market and the average salary in Egypt is 4000 EGP which equals 80 British pounds, Now you can notice that Egypt is a Hell for Egyptians and Heaven for foreigners.
Yes Egypt is cheaper but most salaries in Egypt is about 150:200 USD/month so UK is still considered cheaper .. i think in the UK the lowest salary may be 2k gbp ...
1st time to see your channel, I enjoyed your video Amazing couple ❤ Greetings from Egypt My advice check the suggestions in the comments And do not waste your time discovering places
As an Egyptian, I’d like to clarify that your comparison doesn’t consider the difference in income levels. While you focused on price differences, the disparity in wages is crucial. For instance, the minimum wage in Egypt is approximately $120 (£95) per month, whereas in the UK, it’s around £12 per hour. This makes the cost of living in Egypt, relative to local incomes, far higher and much harder for Egyptians to afford.
You can't compare it this way, 1 EGP in Egypt = 1 GBP in the UK. If your salary is only 4000-6000 EGP (As the average salaries in Egypt) per month let me know if it's cheap or not. When I travel to EU I don't say "WTF one water bottle for 1.5 EUR? I been ripped off" Egypt is cheap if you work online and get paid by $ £ or EUR, otherwise it's expensive now, and the middle class is been crashed.
Interesting thing about Qaitbey Citadel is it is built on the ruins of the Pharos Lighthouse, even using the same foundation and stones. The lighthouse collapsed in the 14th century due to an earthquake and the citadel was built in its place in the 15th century
Prices for Egyptians are high because the average salary per day is 150 Egyptian pounds. Look at your daily average and see how much you can buy with your average in your country and how much you can buy with my average in my country. Note that the products' prices are lower than yours because the raw materials used from my country are lower in price than yours. Welcome to Egypt, my friends.

نزول الطبقات بقي دولي😂😂😂😂
Just subbed love the vids keep them coming
❤️
As an Egyptian I have enjoyed this video. Being an Egyptian doesn't make u see everything in eygpt. Thanks 😂❤
Egyptian are very friendly people
Welcome to Egypt i hope you guys enjoyed ❤
Great tour and price comparison inside the supermarket very helpful
Enjoy❤❤
All this reduces the final price of the product when compared to the UK.
well said. 👌
Amazing video 💙🇪🇬🏴💙
I really enjoyed watching your video 👏🏻💯 ... I hope in the next video to visit Alexandria's library and to try desserts in Alexandria, there's a very famous and popular dessert in Alex called ( ros b laban ) which is rice pudding with ice cream and nuts from ( Saber ), and there's a heritage bakery 🍰 called ( Délices patisserie ) it has very delicious varieties of sweets you really should try ❤️... After you finish visiting Alexandria you shouldn't miss visiting Madinaty in New Cairo it's a very beautiful city and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy visiting it 👍🏻 ...
Much love from Egypt
❤🇪🇬🏴❤
Egypt is the most beautiful country in the world. I’m glad you loved it.😊
22:07 Brooo 😭 It's far from being "average salary" friendly at that price. 42 pounds for a can is absolutely insane no one buys it
Pringles and skittles are much expensive in Egypt than the Uk
Mostly beacause they are imported from abroad
And they have extra charge for shipping , taxes and customs
And cadboury chocolate is less than the uk beacause it is manufactured here . Back in 2022 the prices was half or more half the prices right now . Egyptian pound to US dollar was 16 le
Wish Have a great time in Egypt 🌷😇
Welcome in egypt hope you enjoyed it .
For your records to not to understand wrong, the horse rider wasn't shaking hands with you cause he found that he has dirt on his hand from his working so he didn't want to get your hand dirt as well .
Thats why he shaked hand with you by his elbow.
I wanted to explain to you to not think he doesn't want to shake hands with you 😊
Thank you so much for your exploring my city and the other part of Egypt 🇪🇬 ❤ , actually this my first video in ur channel with subscribe too
For your information, it is very difficult to evaluate Egyptian food because there is more than one method for each dish. For example, liver has four or five completely different ways of tasting, as well as beans, falafel, and all foods without exception.
Enjoy
you are right when you refused the boat with 2000 L.E it is so expensive the right cost for this we can say 500 L.E
لو رحت بلدهم وقلت نفس الكلام ده هيقولوا لك مش عجبك ارجع بلدك يا حنين
You are welcome our town Alexandria❤️❤️
Hope you enjoy your time here in my city Alexandria 💓
The cost of the half-hour tour for Egyptians is only 100 pounds. I think the price of 200 is acceptable to non-Egyptians - but I wish I was there. I would have paid you. Welcome to Egypt
11:34 ( Alexandria tram was established about 165 years ago. )
They don’t know what’s tram that’s what we call it they call it train
@@mando73204 There is a difference between a tram and a train. Trams are found in England and Scotland, such as Edinburgh Trams.
When I am out with my husband, people always come to me, does that happen to you too??
There is a difference in average income, even your companies know this, so they will not display their goods at the same prices, otherwise they will not sell. Do you understand?
No one will buy it if it was same price, in first place those products are not same
But the average of salarys in Egypt is 3000to 6000 Egyptian pound
The compare isn't fair 😕🥱
What are u talking about? The minimum wage is 6000 L.E and the average is 20k
@AndrewTota Stop lying
Most of people gain from 3000 to 6000
@@AndrewTotaAlmost of Egyptian are unemployed and freelancers and there's people gain 2000 or 3000 per month only
@ and you made ur statistics yourself? 7% of the population are unemployed. Although it seems like a big number but compared to countries like Greece or Italy it is was lower.
@@mohammednasser6404 lying to whom exactly? Internet exists google it yourself . People getting 3k or less are the ones who do blue-collar jobs and they agree to less than the minimum wage for God’s know why. But the official numbers are 6K for minimum wage and 20k for average.
Egyptian crisps are the best. They taste like crisps used to taste here in the 1980s.
The economic term for the price of goods relative to income is called "income elasticity of demand." Enjoy your time in Egypt!😊
Man, your income is different. You can't compare the cost of things in Egypt to what you buy back in the UK. The per capita income in the UK is much higher than in Egypt. Here, the average monthly salary is way less than $200.
I hope you enjoy Alexandria
Try all the foods again in Alexandria because they taste different from Cairo
Such as Alexandrian koshary with liver
And Alexandrian beans
And Alexandrian liver
And Al-Hawshi Al-Iskandarani
They specialize in fish
And because you don't like the pigeons, try the liar pigeons 😋
Lovely couple, and amazing video ❤
P.S : as someone who is from Alexandria and now lives in the UK , the prices in Egypt are not cheap for local residents because the average salaries in Egypt are so low that you can't even buy alot of the sweets you showed in the video, but in the UK you are not ripped off because the salaries can cover all your needs.
Its the same story in the UK, prices have rapidly outraced salaries!
اوروبا كلها صعب تعمل فيها فلوس والحالة هناك وحشة لو عايز تعمل فلوس لئن السكن والضرايب بياخد كل الدخل ولو معاك عربية هتدفع كتير جدا
really ? the salary strats from 6000
ايه يا معلم انت متشارم و لا ايه
😂😂😂😂كبسة
مبتتحسبش كده يا صاحبي 😂😂
الجنية جنية بلدو 😂
Those prices in the supermarket are considered expensive for Egyptians due to the big difference between salaries in Egypt and salaries in uk....so in fact the prices in uk are convenient for you
Welcome to Alexandria.
You guys need to try Mohamed Hamid Hawawshi ( pastry with meat inside it), its not far from the place you were, one of the best things you'll every eat in your life.
Also try the rice pudding shop next door, Thank me later.
Love Egypt 🇪🇬 ❤️ hopefully I get to visit soon
Mesh mesh (The Horses name) means Apricot
Amazing video, I don't recommend getting on a boat in this weather, weather is really bad and your boat will rock a lot, also a boat in Egypt means small boat tell them a yacht cruise they will understand, but don't do it in Alexandria, if you are looking for a yacht ride I would say go to Sharm Al Sheikh or Aswan to Luxor Nile cruise
guys they mean that egypt is a cheap place for tourism and for the remote workers can live in a country which is safe and more cheaper in their country and with many pretty natural attractions so it is EGYPT ,, they all know the difference the salaries they are not uneducated they are from England the country of igcse and ielts they sell there education ,, happy visit to Egypt you guys
the horse ride is so cheap, I got a ride from 3 months, it was 15 mins with 150 egb. you're lucky guys to meet an honest man
I would like to write a notice and is that the products are really cheapest more than in UK but for just only The UK's unlike Egyptians who get a weak salaries comparing the prices of the product they have at the market and the average salary in Egypt is 4000 EGP which equals 80 British pounds, Now you can notice that Egypt is a Hell for Egyptians and Heaven for foreigners.
I hope you enjoyed Egypt, Which part of the UK you are from?. Greetings from an Egyptian live in Melbourne_Australia.
Is the weather better in Egypt or Spain?
Egypt
Welcome to Egypt ❤❤❤❤
idk about the uk but inflation is extremely high in egypt too. 30+%
our salary is just 200$ so the stuff price is not that good
Yes Egypt is cheaper but most salaries in Egypt is about 150:200 USD/month so UK is still considered cheaper .. i think in the UK the lowest salary may be 2k gbp ...
اخويا عم سعيد❤😂😂
strong Irish accent i love it
Welcome to Alexandra ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Compare the salaries then!
1st time to see your channel, I enjoyed your video
Amazing couple ❤
Greetings from Egypt
My advice check the suggestions in the comments
And do not waste your time discovering places
British/Scottish and Irish people are very polite ❤
As an Egyptian, I’d like to clarify that your comparison doesn’t consider the difference in income levels. While you focused on price differences, the disparity in wages is crucial. For instance, the minimum wage in Egypt is approximately $120 (£95) per month, whereas in the UK, it’s around £12 per hour. This makes the cost of living in Egypt, relative to local incomes, far higher and much harder for Egyptians to afford.
It is more focused at how expensive the UK is
I think you were neer the unknown soldier in Mansheya?
Welcome to Egypt 🇪🇬 ❤
طالع ميتيننا من الأسعار دي، هوا احنا بنقبض ب الاسترليني ط؟
You can't compare it this way, 1 EGP in Egypt = 1 GBP in the UK. If your salary is only 4000-6000 EGP (As the average salaries in Egypt) per month let me know if it's cheap or not.
When I travel to EU I don't say "WTF one water bottle for 1.5 EUR? I been ripped off"
Egypt is cheap if you work online and get paid by $ £ or EUR, otherwise it's expensive now, and the middle class is been crashed.
