The Rope and The Worms: An Interview with FROM's Harold Perrineau ("Boyd Stevens")

In conjunction with 1428 Elm, I had a chance to talk with FROM's Harrold Perrineau about his character Boyd Stevens and a couple of things that happens to Boyd early on in season 2.
Specifically, who threw Boyd the rope when he was stuck down in the well after Sarah pushed him through the Faraway Tree? When he gets to the top, he finds Martin shackled to the wall. Biy nobody else is there. So who threw the rope?
And then the worms under his skin that Martin infects him with (for lack of a better word)...is that one of those times as an actor Harold is grateful for special effects?
