When I was in undergrad, about 15 years ago, I took a course called "Liberalism and its critics" that I really enjoyed and we covered Leviathan, so I'm looking forward to your videos.
Hobbes rationalized support for both dictatorship and his religion, but by and large, he was a materialist determinist who recognized that humans were organisms surviving in nature, which put him way ahead of his time. Like Machiavelli, his work is also accused of being prescriptive when it’s overwhelmingly just descriptive.
