  • Today I install a Central Vacuum system made specifically for RV's. This Dirt Devil CV1500 vacuum system was installed with particular care given to power and air flow! Power is provided by either campground AC, or from our inverter while Boondocking. Air flow efficiency was maximized by keeping the inlet tube straight and short, and allowing for the perfect 'air loop'!

I always install the outlet so that the cover flips down. It's easier than flipping it up to attach the hose.

Thank you for your precise instruction! So much more understandable and love your option of power sources too. Replaced are aging Jayco 5th Wheeler, but removed my Dirt Devil CV1500 to re-install in the new 5th wheel. The CV1500 is awesome and would recommend it for all RVers. Sure makes living and traveling much easier!

I think that the Dirt Devil CV1500 central vacuum is a terrific product. My house has a central vacuum and I needed an additional wall valve and no way was I about to open the walls up to install an additional valve. Ain't happening, buckaroo! I installed one of these babies under the bathroom sink and ran the flex straight through the wall and presto! The additional valve I needed! I also have one of these babies in my coach and will never own another RV that does not have one again. Terrific product. One thing I always like to do is I always like to bring my own central vacuum hose from home when I go camping because, my hose from home operates an electric power nozzle which I think is critical if your coach has carpet.

Hello. Good informative video. However, Could you please get more specific and show your audience how to connect the inverter switch with the wires on your cord and explain your diagram. Some of us just don’t have that electrical ability like you do and need to be shown. I’m one and want to not cause a fire and do it safely. Thank you Sir

What size inverter do you have to run the vac?

I wonder the same thing. It sounds like it has quite a substantial startup surge.

Hey Jack great video! I'm about to to the same install just in a smaller camper. 2020 inTech Sol Horizon. I also want to run off shore power and my inverter. Do you happen to have a copy of your wiring diagram handy? Electrical is not my strong suit! :) TIA
