Born and raised in Ventura, lived here (or near here at times) 56 years now. went to Ventura HS, Poli st runs right through it. Never once in typical conversation have I heard it pronounced Poh-lee, even from old timers growing up. I have heard people suggest it has been pronounced wrong, but even they pronounce it poh-lie in normal conversation.

I'd really like to see a detailed history of Ventura on video, like there is for Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Hope you enjoy your life even though that you've done wrong and covered up the truth about all the royalty involved

Norman I'm a public television producer. I just produce the programs. I don't tell the guests or narrators what to say (in their presentations). I've also sponsored (onto television) a series of programs by Gary Robinson/Tribal Eye productions (Santa Inez). Check out ruclips.net/video/stSKCXIoQIU/видео.html . Thanks for your interest (in the subject). Ed.
