You and Eric Sammut are making marimba my new favorite instrument. After watching this performance, I started looking at more of the great performances on RUclips and I simply had no idea how large a repertoire of really wonderful modern compositions for marimba there is. I'm excited to start exploring this whole new world - thanks for the introduction!
I have stopped playing marimba for about 3 years now because of work. I quit before I fully mastered that piece. You just gave me the will to play again. Thank you for this beautiful moment :)
I'd just like to say that ever since I have found your rendition of Cameleon, I have been completely obsessed with the piece and your playing. I believe this was not played better by anyone else I have ever seen, and you are my favorite marimba player.
Truly one of the most beautiful marimba performances I've seen to date! You moved so elegantly and the sound was so rich and full. The piece itself was magnificently scored and kept me engaged throughout, both melodically and rhythmically. I particularly appreciated your facial expressions because they added to the overall feel of the piece. Truly outstanding, and it makes me want to work even harder to be the best percussionist I can be. Thank you.
I think you did an amazing job I'm playing this piece for my UIL competition and I use this video to critique my sound and etc so thanks so much for posting this
+yumon king - it is an important feedback for me. I believe this is how people should use the web - to inspire and to be inspired and to apreciate art and the ones who do it. Thank you.
Wonderful, wonderful performance. Beautifully played and beautifully shot. The grain in the wood seen from above - incredible music coming through this beautiful organic medium. To me, this is what it's all about! Thank you so much!
Ohh this makes me want to play again so bad. Havent had the opportunity since leaving highschool. Never got to finish learning this piece. Some day maybe. This sounded gorgeous, very well controlled
moreausylvain I have seen your projects. Great work! and thanks for your comment. About the video - i agree -Mr. Aljosha Hofmann did a great job. About the possibility of making a good sound - i have to thank also Bergerault.
@@rylie0812 Hi, no, that was a set of ES 16. But now I´d play it with heavier mallets, because it is less work for me. I drop the mallets more. If you have any questions about it, feel free to email me and I would get into more detail.

Great Pacing and sensitivity!
Thank you all for your beautiful comments. I appreciate that very much!
Great job at making this look so seamless and relaxed, it's like you're not even trying at all. Amazing musicality and artistry.
+Jacob Keizer I am happy to read what is for me important to perform. Thanks for your observation. Thanks for your words..
Sammut is a wonderful composer but I don't think I've seen anything by him done that passionately before. I felt the music. And THAT is music.
Dear Brian, thank you very much for your comment.
Nice flow on the marimba! Especially in 2:45! Such looseness and free...! Excellent job! :)

No ES12 in bass mallet?

Thank you very much for this very kind comment!
Anyone else feel like clapping after watching that?
triple lat swag
If replaced keiko stick I would like to ask what kind of hardness of the stick for
this is like all four rotations combined into one. it's gorgeous, but god, sammut has a style and he sticks with it, huh
What mallets and in what order are you using?
How long did it take you to learn this?
Great! which mallet do you use in the piece?
Juana Castro
Thanks. I took the Eric Sammut "ES 16" from mostlymarimba to record the video.
what is that mallet ?
You oughta change the search tags to "Chameleon" instead of the "e" with the accent.
