Both Aristides and EBMM make incredible guitars. I ended up going with PRS not only because they make incredible instruments, but also it makes more sense from a touring musician standpoint. Aristides hold up very well on tour, but are very expensive. EBMM didn't hold up as well for me on tour, but the price was a lot better. PRS nailed both of those. The DW models are the most stable guitars I've ever played, and the price makes sense as well. They are also incredibly easy to play.
I have two of the DW models, and the only con for me is the pickup selector position. It’s awkward for needing to do quick pickup changes during solos, especially when the tremolo bar is in place. Other than that, I have absolute zero complaints about the guitars. They are incredible!
The amount of time it takes to play something is different for everyone, so it's not really possible to answer that question in the way that you're looking for. There are so many factors to take into consideration. Just have fun learning, always push yourself when learning things, and you'll get there over time. I was extremely dedicated to practicing for the first 5-6 years of playing, and that's where a huge amount of the foundation of my technique was formed. Since then it's just been pinpointing weak points in specific techniques, and slowly getting better at them over time. When I recorded this video last year, I'd been playing for 19 years. I have a cover of this same solo on my channel from 10-12 years ago, and you can see how less developed my technique was. Practicing efficiently is key to getting better at things faster, so learn to pinpoint parts of a lick or riff that you're having issues with, and identify exactly what you're doing to cause that issue. From there, correct it, and practice that over and over.
Hey Travis are you still living in Utah and offering guitar lessons for advanced players? I'm having a hard time finding a good teacher in Utah county was hoping you still do or could refer me to someone
After 12 years of practice you nailed the bend at the ending. Haha! :D Great job. As sick as the older one which i saw years ago.
Fuck yes, Travis, fuck yes.
Legit one of the best, cleanest covers of this solo I've seen
Holy shit your picking is so brutal that this feels like it's 115% speed. On the edge of my seat
This is tight as ever!
Great job!
Thank you!
Checking in from the 2006 JP forum. Still kicking ass dude, cheers!
keep doing what you're doing Travis, you've been an inspiration for over a decade now \m/
man that was sick
Never gets old. Killer job, as always.
i've discovered you with your first cover of this solo, i'm always impressed by your technic !
Geez, dude! Killer job!!!! Insane playing man!
Got damn it man! 🔥🔥🔥 been following you for a long time and this is why. So much skill. Great cover bro
Damn it's just like old times
I am always amazed by your skills and i miss Threat Signal by the way 😑😀
🇧🇷
is it possible to do a lesson how you practice speed picking / how you reach such level?
Bring back Threat Signal. New music, tour, anything.
New music may be in the works right now 🤔
@@travismontgomery well that made my week, thanks 🙏
Considering how many awesome guitars you've had over the years, what made you go to PRS? I would have thought Aristides or Music Man would be better.

Awesome! I am thinking of buying a DW prs. How do you like it? Pros and cons?

@@travismontgomery that’s funny, man. That was my exact complaint with my CE24. Other than that, super solid guitar.
Travis what pickups are you using now at days?
Loving the stock pickups in this guitar. It's the Dustie Waring Mojotone set.
How many hours of daily practice is needed to get to this level? Or how many years does it take?
