Not only a great work of musical art but a great testament of humanity. This sonata, on which Prokofiev labored throughout the war years with the Nazis at Russia's doorstep, is a triumph of the human spirit over all adversity, including death itself. You see it in Kyung Wha Chung's face as she plays the sonata's final phrase. She feels it. And she understands what this sonata has achieved.

Dzięki za objaśnienie, kiedy i w jakich okolicznościach powstała sonata.

This is a great piece of music, and I always considered the Perlman/Ashkenazy recording the best interpretation. But Ms. Chung and Mr. Kenner give it a completely different character that sounds more like Prokofiev. Thank you, Kyung-Wha.

    Seasoned and refined Chung
    well solves difficult and
    abstruse Prokofiev.

I hardly ever do this, but I gotta say - I'm not a big fan of this interpretation.
I think it might've been much better if they chose a slower tempo..
