That was extremely cool. Getting good angular repeat-ability in the arms shouldn't be too hard. What's impressive is the repeat-ability of the shot. - great work guys.
Very cool technology and fun demo. Probably should have had the ball loading point next to the operator, so he didn't have to cross over as much into the robot's working envelope. Safety first!
Program was a little open, could be optimized, and higher continuous % speed. Not that amazing, continuous air, the robot was programmed, to move to 6 different positions, and cups were on a template. basic air cam with suck/ blow command. It would be more impressive if it was playing pong using a camera and self adjusting air.
Vikas Karade Not innocent, I'm poking the bear. I want to know if their programming can account for environmental variation, or if this thing only works in that room.
This isn't as impressive as it looks. The location of all the cups were pre-set into the computer and the force, angle and speed needed to shoot the ping pong ball into the cup were all pre-calculated. The computer is NOT determining and calculating each shot on the fly.
pshh, the robot obvious doesn't follow the rules of elbows.... doesn't look like an 8ft table, so I call cheater haha. easy strategy to beat the robot, just bounce all day, if you're playing 2 cups a bounce rule haha
Get the robot drunk and see if it can do that.
The robot is very unlikely to have a bloodstream to get intoxicated by alcohol.
+Rodolfo Padilla Ruiz good observation

Finally - a new use to the old fleshlight.
Let's see what happens when that robot is 8 beers deep. That's when true champs emerge.
Does anybody know the background music? there's a couple of people saying its Darude - Sandstorm but it's not! I've tried everything :(
I would be impressed but the elbow joint is clearly over the table.
Do you know the title and artist of background music
what a time to be alive
that music is great.
elbow crossed the table, doesn't count

What is the goopy-stuff that you stick the ball onto the table with? Why is goopy-stuff needed?
I'm going to call penalty on "elbow" here, clearly the robotic arm was violating the elbow over the side of the table rule, lol.
How could it drink when I sink a cup? It's defense would be awful, and it looked like part of the "throwing arm" crossed the plane of play.
How much weight can the hand/ head lift irrespective of the arm?
This level of precision in non rigid mechanisms :O

Just saw this on Jimmy Fallon, holy shit this is awesome.
i need that song
Ahhhh! So this is how Doraemon's spherical hands would work!!!
Purdy darn slick.! 😀
It has two programs, "beer pong" and "hummer".
wow this is fucking AMAZING GUYS
wow this looks like fun :| ...you can see it on the guy's face also
now design a robot with vision system to detect the other robots shots and make it miss every time.
Get it to adjust for wind factor and any table bumps then ill be impressed.
the Steph curry of beer pong except even more consistent
How would I buy one of these?
It is powered by alcohol?
do u evn quickscope m8 ?
That is amazing!!!
This level of precision in non rigid mechanisms :O
Elbows, bro.
So this is where taxpayer money goes. :O
dem elbows doe
Song?
does the robot call that he is on fire?
Watch your elbow freshmen!
What if there is a breeze?
Your innocent questions make scientists and engineers to excel :)

Well, for random breeze they will have to add some sensing and navigation system to the ball, which I dont think is there. So the answer is NO.
What song is this??
Fly Away - Otis McDonald
Yeah...but try doing that DRUNK robot!
ELBOW!!!

Stoner engineering at it's finest. ahahaha! jk. well done guys!
elbow
Hes obviously using aimbot
change the type off balls and robot will lose everytime
