I love her! she needs to have her own show! I want one but I can only find Kentia palms near me in Lisbon. I hope it is as beautiful as the Majesty Palm.
i got a majesty palm on a whim today without doing research on them. after getting home and looking up videos on YT, i was getting nervous about taking care of it! most videos of care were more of warnings basically to not get the plant. your video helped calm my nerves, im starting to feel like i can take good care of it and hopefully have it thrive in my home :)
i just bought this palm. i wasn't sure what it was but it looks exactly like the video. i hope i can keep it alive and it can thrive. palm trees make me remember my childhood in miami.
I was watching another tutorial about this plant but I left because she didn't sound like she knew what you was talkin about...and you sound so convincing I just might give it a try
Glad I came across your videos to search for Majesty Palm info. I scrolled through more of your videos and you never fail to explain in a straightforward manner. I even found all of my plants through your playlist so easily! You are informative and consistent with your approach in regards to plant care. Thank you for what you do!
You made that sound just so simple, easy, and quick....but also provided all details and information and even a demonstration. I loved this! Thank you so much!
what a lovely person! such a sweet, simple video perfectly answering my questions about my new majesty palm! you've encouraged me that I can keep this beauty alive! ❤ Thank you!
Thank you! Right to the point and full of all the information I needed. Mine are outside for now but Fall will be here soon and now i know what to do for them.
I learned that indoor plants don’t need that much bright sun light, I killed 4 of my plants and one was majesty palm. Now I just kept them near the window where they can get light but no sun, if there is I would close my semi sheer curtain. Water them once a week about 2 cups each plant. They thrive since, it’s been 6 months since I started doing that, also kept them away from the vent
Does the humidity tray have to sit inside a bigger pot ie one pot w the plant sitting inside and an empty shelled one w just the humidity tray at the bottom surrounding potted plant. Or can u put the potted plant on top of the humidity tray w no pot around it?
I love my Majesty Palm and a couple other smalls. I've had all of them outside the whole summer and they are tall and healthy. Now that the colder weather is coming I want to bring my palm and other smalls inside. What should I do for a grow light? I'm in a small condo unit and there are vents in the ceiling where my back door and windows are. Any suggestions?
You think i can substitute sunlight for a decent grow light like a soltech? The place i wanna put my majesty palm does not get a ton of sunlight, but i do have a good grow light over it and a humidifier right near it. Ive cared for all my plants successfully thus far, so if i were to lose one now itd end my perfect streak and id be pretty bummed out.
The growing season for most house plants is Spring through Fall. The majority of house plants will go dormant or slow down their growth from October through April, which means they will need less water and sunlight.
So the saucer with the rocks, how often do I do that? I see yours in the video are potted. How do I see water coming out of the bottom of it is potted? Do I get the pot that has the saucer on the bottom ?
Hi I am from Canada. I have them outside on my patio and currently the temp. is 10 degrees Celsius. What should i do when winter comes? will they regrow next year? or die due to the cold?
I am also in Canada, south western Ontario and I have two Majesty Palms on my deck. I have only had them for a couple of weeks but seem to be thriving. I plan to repot them sometime in the next couple of weeks. Fortunately, I have very high ceilings in my home and the house faces south with rather large windows. I plan to bring the palms indoors and sit them in the window for the winter months. I am thinking Late September or early October.
Hi, I put my Majesty Palm in to a big container, mat e too big, 2 years ago and it seems to be growing out not up. The fonds are not tight and growing up they grow and hang heavy. Hard to explain. It's a few yrs old shall i put in smaller pot or will it be fine. I just want it to grow more upright because this one takes up too much space..
Thanks for a very precise and helpful video , should I put my majesty palm in direct sunlight or under covered porch ? It’s not doing so good and which fertilizer do you recommend?
Majesty Palms need bright, indirect light. To stop the leaves from burning, place it under the covered porch. You can use a balanced House Plant fertilizer like Schultz. Mix with the water and use during growing season.
I appreciate your pearls of wisdom. I just bought a 10' inch Majesty Palm from my local grocery store and NONE of the plants had instructions on how to care for them. My plant is very thick with four stalks, I see little roots showing on top of the plant. I suspect it needs to be transplanted. Is there a special kind of soil I need to use for this plant? Also, if I plant it in a pot with drain tray will a humidity tray still be effective? Thank you for sharing your expertise :) ! Peace & Blessings,
Can you inform about the blooms? Mine is blooming like crazy…it’s winter, inside, loving it (I take outside in summer, leave under deck in indirect sunlight). Can I try to plant the seeds that grow on the blooms?
My majesty plant was doing so well up until recently :( the leaves are starting to get sticky and a couple branches are slowing falling, any recommendations?
How can I know when to fertilize?.. what does actively growing means? Also, when I water my majesty, it's very hard for the soil to get completely wet. Only on top gets very wet. Does that mean I need to repot it whit a different soil? Please help, I dont want my majesty to die.
I bought 2 majesty palms. I had them outside near my pool last summer. They were so beautiful and flowy. They died in their pots over winter. This year I bough them and a cold snap happened in SC. I didn’t plant them until last week. I now have them turning light brown on edges and most prawns are this way. It is is full sun around 75-80 degrees outside. A lot of rain in last couple of days. It is growing new prawns but the prawns that are left are half brown and half green. There is new soil and drainage holes at bottom-HELP?
😊 I bought many of them I just don't know the trick the only thing I know that Florida they just dropped go car while I don't even have to even think about it in the ditch on the wherever.
Correct tips. I water every 4 to 5 days and pour in 1/3 to half a bucket of a bucket and allow to run out. My palm sits on a metal stand with legs with a tray below it which you can buy at a garden store so when you water it it just runs out the holes freely onto tray. No lifting needed..I then usually dup water out 3 times. I mark on calendar when I water it so I water constantly. Do not let soil dry out ever do what she say. Many articles say to allow soil to dry out completely Not The Majesty Palm!! They need lots of water.
The only tropical plant I've tried growing that was a failure. I did research and watched videos regarding their care but couldn't keep them alive. p s I've grown several dracaenas, a philodendron, spider plants, Christmas cactus, rhoeo and dieffenbachia all with success. Guess they simply didn't like my apartment.
I've gone through about 5 majesty palms in that past couple of years. With sun, fertilizer, enough water and I live in Florida, so humidity is always high.. They just don't like being indoors.. So I give up. Time for palm that is more tolerant of indoors.
While it's a common belief that plants can purify the air in your home, this is actually a myth that has been debunked by multiple studies. While plants are great, they don't clean indoor air quickly enough to have a significant effect on air quality. It's important to be aware of this misconception and seek out other methods for improving indoor air quality. Pebble trays are a myth as well.
How big is it and pot size ? Does the soil smell ? If so root rot.. The majesty palms are needing more water than other palms. Water every 4 to 5 days with half a bucket of water and let drain freely. Buy a metal stand with legs and tray below so when you water, the water runs onto tray. Give it a sunny window. Water with room temp water not hot, not cold. Feed with palm food

Which fertilizer I can use. Please let me know. How to take care for dry leaves
You can use a balanced House Plant fertilizer like Schultz. Mix with the water and use during growing season.
For dry leaves, you can mist regularly.
Is it clustering palm?
I just got one one these and it's been growing since summer. So now it it's pretty big. I order a sun light for it is that ok???

Not true about plants being a air purifier
bob ross of plants
My mother refuses to let plants in the house. She doesn't see the point in it, and you can't convince her otherwise.
While it's a common belief that plants can purify the air in your home, this is actually a myth that has been debunked by multiple studies. Her majesty palms are not in a tray of rocks and water.
“Houseplants clean the air of the most serious toxins... it’s true”. Lol literally not true. But I love house plants
Not as easy as it seems..
That's a cat palm. Not a majesty palm. Did she say she was a "Master..." something?
