- After a storage room cleanup I had found a few of my old iPod docks and some other fun things to mess around with, Including both a REAL and FAKE JBL !

What system was the first iPod dock you can remember getting disappointed by?
First time I had seen one a kid on my high school bus whipped out a little two driver Sony... it sounded horrible and he proceeded to brag about it aha :D
Tbh I've never had an ipod sock system, heard alot of em were shit so I decided not to get one

I remember I had one of those Sony radios that doubled as an iPod dock it was black and it had a big clock in the Middle with two big speakers on the side it sucked so badly so I got rid of it
Actually have one right now. Least at my work. There's a logitech s715i I left in the restaurant kitchen there hooked up to a Bluetooth receiver. xP They all like it.
I had an og bose sounddock in 2007 with a 2nd gen nano. Had the same drivers as the wave radio.
This dang fake jbl sucks for real it looks like a cheap dollar toy.

I had an iPod dock with EIGHT of those little things and when I cracked the dock open the stupid magnets kept falling off and I blew them one of the drivers is 1.5 watts.

I know, right🙄! Since passive speakers are fake drivers to begin w. They basically just take on the pressure of the smaller speaker inside the sealed enclosure creating a little extra lower tones.

Almost every knockoff speakers from China has that feature. They probably tired of listening those beep boop noises so they shove in the Chinese lady voice and compress it to the smallest size possible to fit in because pressing any buttons would make the Chinese lady speaks to you.

A really cool thing I do is I don't even use computer speakers anymore. I connect my laptop and other bluetooth devices to my vintage realistic scr 4500 with GE-110 Vanco 10-band equalizer preamp powering 2 Cerwin Vega vs120 three way floor standing speakers and 2 Sony ss-mf550h tower speakers. This setup is also connected to my LG 47-inch 3D TV so when I play Garret's videos it comes through this setup which is pretty cool!

Edit: Also for a Bluetooth speaker idea I have a 808 Thump that kicks like CRAZY (for me anyways) but my last red one lasted 2 years cause the charging cable broke right off of the motherboard so it only had a little bit of juice left now I have a black one and it’s pretty nice as well. So that’s just a request you DO NOT HAVE to do it if you don’t want to
Those 808 thump speakers are cool. If you place them on a hollow cabinet or box they have some pretty decent bass because it vibrates the paneling. Try it you'll be like wow! Keep trying different hollow objects.

Friend had one, full volume on one of those even on a phone distorted the shit out of it.
@@irrigamii i have a pair (not bell and howell and is some thing with iPod dock speakers) and it was distorted and would shut off for a second every 3 seconds lol
I think my local phone repair shop uses the same disassembly process as you use, I employed them for a simple screen replacement and they used superglue to put it all back together :(

Great video as always! Ive heard that same pairing voice on just about every Chinese amp board out there. Seems quite universal. BTW those 1" JBL drivers are known as "Odyssey " drivers. They are used in just about every Harman product out there. Including the "Soundsticks" computer speaker system. Impressive little buggers. Even the original iMacs used them in the ball shaped enclosures.
TheSpeakerseeker well if you want 8 of them, just go on Harman kardon website and buy the soundsticks lll and youll have 8 of them little Buggers 🤷🏻♂️😂

It's not same the iMac G3 has a screw mounted. It glued but doesn't screw mounted

Those Logitech Speakers took a shit kicking. Very impressive. The Samsung drivers are pretty interesting. Love the crappy translated English on that knock of speaker. Priceless.

My Altec Lansing Boom Jacket Jolt actually don't sound half bad. If I put it inside my HE washer drum it has nice deep bass.
