What people need to realize, a tip is a bid for a service. If you want the order fulfilled quicker, you need to outbid other customers by giving a better tip. If you can't afford to tip, you can't afford the service and shouldn't be using it.
That’s not how it works and it’s stupid logic. The customer is paying fees for using the service. Tips are optional. You’re offered a base pay. Either do it or don’t.
@@BudlongTaco lol that’s exactly how it works on these apps. You can choose not to tip but your order won’t get picked up quickly. Nobody cares how much you’re paying in fees. You can always pick up the food yourself

I drove 26 miles round-trip yesterday for $16 and 14 of that was a tip. Thankfully, doordash gave me orders driving back to my zone so I picked up another $27
Also, I've noticed while be a Doordash Delivery Driver is that customers who don't tip me always seem to have me doing the most work. They're also very demanding, they text me to know my how far away I am and their drop off instructions are rude and written in all caps.
I did an bjs order going 3 miles for $29 with instructions to bring upstairs no elevator. I carried 5 cases of water, multiple juices, sodas and food up 8 flights of stairs. She didn’t help, she just watched me out the window because “people steal”. I got to the bottom step & hit complete $9 pops up and $0 tip. Called customer service they said there’s nothing they can do. I said okay. I saw the same order pop up yesterday so I took it. Yes it was petty and I probably shouldn’t have taken it. But it’s not fair for us to waste our time, gas, energy and wear on our cars for you to do that so you can get your order faster. I hit complete and again she took the tip back. She lives in an area where people steal so you have to call or text upon arrival which I did. I left all her items in front of her building. So best of luck to her.
I had a lady today who said the instructions were parked in the parking garage, go through the leasing office, then through the locked gate, up the elevator to the 4th floor, then go down 4 hallways. She said DON'T LEAVE IN LEASING OFFICE. How much did she tip? You guessed it $0!
I was doing Earn by Time on Doordash last night. Took 6 drinks and food from Dunkin to the employees at a family owned pizza place, 0.00 tip. Now I know not to eat there or deliver their food for them
I was getting two dollar tips in 1999 delivering pizza. A basic tip is five dollars today so if you’re not tipping five dollars for someone to deliver you food, you’re an idiot.
If they don't tip I fault them. I get it's expensive but it's very simple, if you don't tip then don't use the service. Remember back in the day when you ordered a pizza and you ran to get the cash tip ready for the driver? Not any more
Good video! Inflation is causing people to pick and choose what they need to cut their spending on. When they order from the food delivery if it is not a big order then there is a small order fee. Most of the when I order food delivery I’ll tip $5 minimum or 20% of the bill.
From what I see on Reddit is the younger generation believe that the companies should pay enough they dont need to tip and the only way to fix it is to continue not tipping.
So many ppl say they shouldn't have to tip before the service. But it just proves them doing these challenges, these ppl aren't tipping afterwards. It just doesn't happen.
These Apps should pay the drivers more, at least $1.00 a mile. If I have to get on the HWY they should pay $2.00 a mile. And these customers should definitely tip. If they order food from 10 miles away it should be an automatic $10. tip for the driver.
Mary has got to honk the horn so you can find the car. My grandma had 8 grandkids and she was always calling us by the wrong name. I even got called the cat and dog’s name.
The reason people don't tip is they are accustomed to receiving several deliveries a week from Amazon Prime with "free" delivery and no tip expected. You're expecting them to understand the difference between that and gig delivery, but many don't.
I haven't gone out specifically for the apps in a long time. I just let them run in the background and go about my day. If something worth doing comes in I'll do it, otherwise I reject it and keep going about my day.
I personally would never use delivery service for my food. I don't want strangers rummaging around in my bag for my fries and I don't want cold fries. Also I don't like my food being left on the floor for me to pick up. It's disgusting. Also if you order a drink it's not even secured and anyone that's disgruntled about not getting a good enough tip is going to potentially tamper with your food and drink. I think you people should push more back on the apps themselves because of the service fee, the convenience fee, and the additional taxes and add-ons they put towards the overall total. I've seen on Panera specifically where there was a dollar added on to something and then when I totaled it up I just figured I'll go pick it up myself because the fees are not worth it. I think people that use these apps, maybe don't even have a car and maybe they have a budget. And maybe if people are disgruntled about not getting a good enough tip, they shouldn't do gig work that relies on tips. It's ridiculous all the way around

These apps and customers are getting worse by the day. I think it’s time they go away Sorry I know it’s a secondary source of income but it’s not worth it anymore.
Here’s what I dont understand… For things like Walmart Plus.. i pay $100 a year to get “free” delivery. Its not “free” if you need to tip. My impression is your paying twice for getting things delivered which makes no sense either… walmart already has the groceries and has a whole department that picks groceries for people. You can pick up your own groceries for free and you arnt allowed to tip those people who bring it out to you.. The only difference between pickup and delivery for Walmart is paying someone to drive it to me.. Where is the $100 going if its not to pay the delivery driver to deliver the goods to the customer??
If you pay 100 a year but you order once a week that comes out to 48 deliveries a year. By your logic that $100 gets split into 48 deliveries which equals $2.08 per delivery. Gas costs anywhere from $3-6 per gallon alone... So you are telling me that $2 covers the pay for a driver to deliver to you and carry/load all of the items to and from the car? Something ain't adding up there. The app or website you are using to place your order has expenses associated with it. These systems are not free, the cost has to come from somewhere. There are developers and people who work to update and maintain these things... Furthermore drivers need to make enough money to make it worth their time. Getting things delivered is a LUXURY because it saves you time, energy, effort and gas. Time is the biggest luxury of them all. This is why you pay for these services. Nothing in life is free. The reason why you can pickup your own groceries for free is because you have to bring your ass to walmart and get them yourself which costs all the things I mentioned above^ The people who pick your groceries at walmart are walmart employees being paid hourly. The drivers who deliver to you are independent contractors who are being paid differently (to my understanding). For example stop & shop does the same thing, they will pick your groceries for you and have them ready for pickup. Instacart drivers who are independent contractors can chose to pickup these orders and deliver them to the customer for a base pay which is always very low + tips if any. Now imagine you have to deliver 23 bags which contains multiple cases of water and heavy stuff up a flight of stairs... Would you do that for $4? The entire process from pickup to drop off can take anywhere from 30mins- an hour depending on how far you are driving. Human labor and gas is not free. Hope you gained some insight, cheers
@@1way448 Im aware that it sucks, but again, still goes back to the fact that Walmart should just have more of their own delivery drivers that are paid hourly if we are paying Walmart to deliver the items through Walmart +...

Getting things delivered is a LUXURY because it saves you time, energy, effort and gas. Time is the biggest luxury of them all. This is why you pay for these services. Nothing in life is free.
The reason why you can pickup your own groceries for free is because you have to bring your ass to walmart and get them yourself which costs all the things I mentioned above^
The people who pick your groceries at walmart are walmart employees being paid hourly.
Guess you guys should get real jobs. Instead of working for app companies that barely pay you don’t blame the customers 🤷♂️ The entitlement is strong
