Also we did deliveries for Uber Eats and Doordash as well, but it was his instacart order that was the story of the shift.. a very stressful & Controversial one at that!

Also I’ve delivered to “inside” a few times. Once was a senior living residence complex. She asked me to put the order on the table. It was two 1500ml bottles of wine. She may have been old, but she still liked her wine.
You should have to call support to remove or reduce the tip. You should not be allowed to do it through the app because that makes it way too easy. I bet if they changed it to having to call a lot more people would stop tip baiting because we all know that nobody likes to have to talk to customer support for anything LOL
Agreed!!!
😂 for the sad but true reason for the idea re CS .. but I agree except I don’t even think that it should be allowed. Not just because anyway.
But Lou and Mary are actually saying it right now. They should absolutely have to tell the reason. Some will just lie. But if it turns out, it’s something we have no control over, the tip should stay. And just like I’m sure sometimes maybe in the DoorDash app they refund a customer, but they don’t take it from us … if there’s an actual upset with the order but all the apps should only take it from the driver if it was something they did or said. Not because it took too long to find a Dasher or somebody else reassigned first. Not because the restaurant left out one of the plates. We don’t have x-ray vision. All we can do is ask if that’s everything.
That’s actually a great idea
That ‘tip baiting’ is ridiculous. Who does that? We give a very decent tip and then we give them more than THAT tip. If I can’t tip, I don’t order. You provide an amazing service.
I always call support and ask to speak to a supervisor and they compensate me for the tip bait. I have gotten it every time I have called.
I have a disabled customer on Instacart and I do go into the apartment to put the groceries on the kitchen counter. Another male friend told me about him beforehand and told me it was safe. But I wouldn't do it for everybody lol. For the ID, it doesn't matter. As long as the person has a valid ID and they're over 21, it doesn't have to be the person who ordered.
My worst tip bait was a $78 Sam’s order and they reduced the tip by $50 and ended up making $28 on the order. Should’ve gone back and egged their house for that😂😂😂
Gross
😂😂😂😂
I've been tip bated a few times on Walmart Sparks. I now screenshot each order before I take it so I have the customers name & tip when I accept it and screenshot the order details so I have the number. I Then double check it the next day, if the tip doesn't match up, I add that customer to my blacklist and never accept an order from them again. And I let all the other drivers I know have this knowledge as well to prevent anyone from having to deal with this in the future.
Congratulations Lou and Mary for hitting your goals.
Just go back
I love you guys, thank you for putting out these videos ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for watching!
Uber support has told me various times that they are actually cracking down on tip baiters and to please call support if I get tip baited
In Terms of tip baiting they should ban removal of tips or at least have tip forgiveness where if the customer reverses the tip the driver gets a forgiveness out of the service fee and yes thats part of the grand total of the customers bill
My wife and I did a questionable Instacart (~40 items for $20). Upon delivering the lady asked to bring the items inside. From the front door I could tell the ladies house was filthy (there were cat feces all over the floor near the front door), so I declined saying "I don't feel safe doing so". She slammed the door in my face told me to take the items back to the store. We did, and got paid $10 base for 1.5 hours... :(. We should have kept the groceries.
Wow
Next time you get tip baiting call support. They will give you full amount of order. Always works out for me.
I have no problem taking groceries inside. All of the times, it has been for elderly folks. I always carry a knife in my pocket just in case. But I will do whatever is needed to make the customer happy. That's our job and we should go above and beyond for the customers. It helps them but it also helps us in the end to help people:):).
I got tip baited from UBER and I called support and was given the tip I was promised.
Pizza combos and coffee is an interesting combo if I do say so myself. 😊
Sorry that tip bait happened to you. Same happened on Instacart recently shopped for 44 items 2 water cases to a high rise building. Had to bring it up to the 5th floor penthouse at that. Handed items directly to customer found everything no issue. Than bam checked the money whole tip reduced by around $15 😡. Called Instacart they are supposed to cover $10 but said oh that’s an old policy we will deactivate the customer they do this all the time blah blah. It was terrible smh. Great content keep it coming 💪🏼💪🏼
That’s awful!!
That stinks. Sorry 😣
I hoped they actually banned the customer lol
@@rachmunshine9474 yes thank you
@@thomascrohan7810 They said they would but who knows not sure what was wrong with them smh
My worst tip baiting experience was a delivery for a case of beer on Uber eats. The upfront pay was supposed to be $8 and some change for like 1.5 miles. I scanned ID and delivered it as normal. I remembered the guy was super friendly, too. An hour later, the customer reduced the tip amount to just 0.66 cents😮
Wow
i wish uber and instacart was busy out here like it is for you both. i suppose it's saturation or other things. anywho, you did a great job delivering for dennis' mom. shoutout to mary for going inside and helping.
I am here in Florida, and I just would not walk into an open door because the instruction said so. Sometimes people forget they write those instructions for prior orders. I could end up getting shot if they forgot they left those instructions and I walk right into a house. I have left items in the peoples houses when they invite me in though. mostly elderly folks.
You absolutely did the right thing
That happened to me recently with Instacart - very frustrating
I actually had to put a lady grocery away for her a few weeks ago she was bedridden!
I have set items inside the customer home a couple times. Usually this same scenario elderly or disabled person.
No tip baiting here, just thanks for the content as always :)
Thank you so much!!! We really appreciate it!!
Aww 🥰 I love seeing these on the channels I follow! Very nice.
Woot!
@@TheLongIslandDashExperience Thank you for sharing. :)
What a great night 😊👍💪
I had 2 tip baiters 2 weeks ago with shop and pay delivery on uber. The 2’nd one asked me if i could being his stuff up to his apartment and took away all my tips. Contacted support and asked them to never assign me with that person again and they said they should follow the guidelines of they won’t be able to order again.
Wow good job on that instacart. In that setuation my mind goes to mush and flustered. I would call intacart if I can.
Sometimes you never know. Had someone put in the drop off notes to know loudly and leave the order at the front door once which I did in Walmart spark. Got tip baited on it and then I accidently took one of her larger orders, and didn't think of it til I arrived there. She actually gave an extra $10 cash and kept the original tip, and switched it to a hand to me on the next order.
Im finding people behaving odd when I do deliveries...people not tipping..giving whacked directions and sadly people who obviously shouldnt be ordering delivery no money no tip...its not as enjoyable as it once was doing DD
Back before The pandemic when I would use Shipt to order my groceries, they always brought groceries into the house and put them on the kitchen counter for me. It wasn’t until pandemic that leave it at the door became a thing.
Wow with the meds taking of the i.d. picture thank goodness a dispatcher didn't call you and say hey i have another pickup for you start heading to......like they do in my courier gig!
I also had the same issue but this one was for an RX where the ID Matched but the app glitched and would not take it if you cannot scan the ID Just gotta call support and attest and they will push through the order
Had that happen before and just took the ID from person that I dropped off to. Had no problem
I worked with Roadie who did the Pilot for Wal Mart grocery deliveries when they first started. Most people wanted me to carry the groceries inside. It was no big deal.
In regards to the ID, I'm sure it varies by State and Local laws, but where I'm at the rules for IDs for Instacart allow you to accept anyone's ID over 21, it doesn't have to be the person that ordered the item. UberEat's states that the ID must match the customer that ordered, but accepts any ID scan. My State laws also allow anyone over 21 to accept the order.
I only deliver inside for elderly people and disabled customers or other women sometimes when they request. And to avoid tip baiting I use timestamp camera and take at least three pictures uone up close of their g groceries, another for the address number and another of the drop off. Is a lot of work but it definitely reduced my missing items, damaged or missing deliveried at all complains . Because they can lie when the proof is right there. When you do gig as you main source of income you have to protect yourself.
Also, in regards to the scanning ID, you can scan the person who’s at the residence as long as they of age and have a valid ID. That also applies to alcohol deliveries. The person who orders doesn’t have to be at the delivery as long as whoever is there is legally of age. Yall got creative no doubt! Haha. I delivered alcohol to a guy in his 40s whose ID expired. So I had to scan his passport Instead that was valid.
yup
That works!
Yep I also scanned a paper temporary ID and it worked.
Even a screenshot works
App should just have customer scan their own ID before purchase. These apps put too much on the drivers
Bj’s also uses Instacart to sub-contract the deliveries. I had a lady tell me thank god your instacart and not doordash! 😂
You guys over in the states, seem to have the location in the app for item your shopping for?
We don’t get that here in Canada that would be definitely help a lot! lol!
for the future it has allowed me to scan ID for someone other than the customer, as long as they meet the age requirement. Doesnt matter the name on the ID
My only one thus far, only 2 months in is took a 15 dollar, 8 mile offer something along those lines smooth delivery everything good. Reduced to I think it was 5 or 6 bucks
For future you can tell Instacart support that you scanned the ID in and it didn’t work and you left already and they complete it for you. I’ve done this many times and also it doesn’t have to match the customer. I’ve been a driver for 6 years and it’s never mattered.
I take the orders at face value, may have been baited a few times, but the increased tips or hidden tips far out weigh the tip decreases. Unfortunately it happens, and it’s a risk we take.
I hate the tip baiters. It happened to me. Mine was UE shop and pay order. Was apartment building on 3rd floor.
As long as you get an id it will go through.
Also I have a few customers I take groceries in cuz they're unable to.
Man I’ve been tip baited so many times on spark. It happens atleast once a week now. Worst was prolly for like 15 bucks that got removed to 0. Sucks man. Hate ppl like that. And yeah i will bring elderly peoples groceries in if they ask.
QUESTION do all the apps give the island #s etc that help the dasher etc find the items? Im considering doing it very part time so i dont loose my SSDI. Love from Ohio.
Not all of them
which ones do ?
@@TheLongIslandDashExperience
I’ve done it many times
We ordered on the Walmart app and all the meat ordered wasn't delivered, over $100 was missing. They ( Walmart) credited the card that was used.
Bro, I got tip bated on a stupid pizza order the other day on uber, waited 10 min for this stupid order and this young dude took away the tip. It's disgusting that Uber allows this. It was such a waste of time and I'm so salty about it. Those kinds of people are such trash. Uber doesn't care at all. Like shame on all them.
It doesn’t matter whose ID, it just has to be someones. You could have scanned your own ID (Lou or Mary, whosever phone it wasn’t)
I fight it every time and they give it back just call them.
2:16 actually, you can do something about it. You have to call them Uber and say that, that is not the amount that was agreed-upon because you accepted for the other amount and if they say all the tips is not mandatory you have to say, but that is the offer that is shown so you have to honor that, it is called tip baiting. They have to honor even if, they says it’s an estimate, like where did number just popped out of nowhere, this isn’t an estimate they came from a tip that they (customer)put before they finished the order so that should be honored and if that representative says no no they can’t you have to ask for a manager or supervisor whatever just connect to a supervisor and they will honor that amount that you were supposed to get and they might even give you extra-if you let them know that it’s not fair that you got tipbaited because you accepted the order at a certain amount and that they should honor it, because you did your job and did nothing wrong. - yes, this is from experience. You can call even if it’s a week later.
* let me know if you decide to call and how it turned out - fingers crossed
99% of the time I get elderly people I bring it inside and yes they usually tip better and some give extra tip in cash. They don't care who's ID you use and you can also input IDs manually if you say it isn't scanning. Down where I stay in Florida I go to church every Sunday and then eat and then do Instacart, it is always busy.
Are you still certified to deliver alcohol on doordash even though you dont do it. I have noticed in my area at least having that certification gives you priority towards taking busy zone hours and while 1-2 were Alcohol most were food deliveries however
I feel comfortable doing them as IDK about new york state but here In Virginia I had to take a 1 hour video course to enroll into them The ABC curated it and covered all the intimations I had My 2 Total Wine And 1 7Eleven alcohol ones were flawless
We are but we don’t take any
Well from your explained situation I would take alcohol orders from a restaurant as NY requires the order of food and most of those are not as sketchy but 7eleven and liquor stores I would stay away from @@TheLongIslandDashExperience
I definitely been tip baited but I've also had the tip not show up on a delivery that I know for a fact the customer did not tip bait me. It was a regular and the delivery went smooth so there was no reason for him to have removed the tip. I never got it so obviously there was some sort of glitch happening over at Uber. If you don't get your tip call support. You never know what's happening It might not have been a tip-bait situation. Uber support may be able to remedy the situation. Sending love from Los Angeles 💛💜
Instacart will allow you to dispute a tip removal and will refund it to the shopper up to $10 if there was no issue with the order. You can also block customers from future orders if they do that.
I tip a lot at order and add if service is really good. Sometimes I don't add a tip at order but add a high tip after delivery. Both are looked down on by drivers. They don't want to deliver to no tip, they are afraid to deliver high tip orders....I also deliver Doordash. I deliver to everyone unless the mileage is just way out there because I know how I tip. Never been tip baited that I know of.
I'm not sure with Instacart, but with Uber Eats, I had an order with medication and it had to show an ID. The customer didn't have and ID with her, but someone with her showed his ID and it went through just fine. So you COULD have had the old lady's ID scanned even if it doesn't match up with the customer name. I wouldn't think that Instacart really cares, as long as there is a legal age on the ID to complete the transaction. The only restriction would probably be that it can't be the driver.
About the needing ID for congestion medicine is something the customer should have to do before they complete their order. Why is this something put on delivery drivers? God for bid you forget to check the app for scanning ID then you run into situations like this
it doesnt have to be same person who orderd ,it has to someone over 21 at the same house . lou and marie getting mad for no reason lol
Thats not cool why are people like that im sorry
It doesn't matter who as long as they are over 21
Another fun Sunday!
Eww coffee again
Do u think after the Completion reset made to many top dashers in my area $$$ down like 30/% 2 weeks pior 649.00 this week half
I was at 98% completion rate and now I’m at 100 since the reset but I can still assure you I am not top Dasher. I am a bottom Dasher. As far as AR. But I know what you mean I thought anything I head over on any other Dashers out just went out the window. 😂 unless they have below 4.96 customer satisfaction/stars they are probably going to get the order. But eventually - although maybe it’ll take a bit because people have to be a little bit more careful now about what they cancel going from 80 to 90 (why would you ever cancel 20% of your orders?) - those numbers will fall. Things will even back out to whatever they were before. I think maybe. 😂
Sorry to hear about the last couple weeks but I hope it does improve soon!
I would never go into a house!!! If you do that, I least keep filming it.
I got tip baited tonight but it was weird, simple drop off and the original offer was $10 they just reduced it by $1 in the end it was $9
Lol what kind of D-bag would reduce tip by 1.00? So lame.
Those people are probably also telling uber that their food didn’t get there… Or items weren’t in the bag… Liars will lie
You should have just gone and gotten hers. It doesn't have to match the customer name it just has to be someone at the residence that is over 21.
Such as if a wife orders groceries and they are delivered and husband is home and she's still at work. You can scan his just fine.
I had a cough syrup and humidifier pickup at Walgreens on Uber and didn't have my ID but I talked to the manager and I think she felt bad because she let it slide after saying no and that the system needs an ID 😂
You should always have your DL with you when driving...
That’s Sad & Embarrassing For Thee Person who did that to y’all .
If anything, well Me , I Increase Thee Tip .
Medicine and alcohol needs ID but doesn't have to be person on the order
I had Uber eats shop order pay out suppose be 20 dollars was completely tip baiter 15 dollars!! It wasn't worth doing for 5 dollars and I Did 0 wrong extremely frustrating. I do rideshare also and typical make decent money. I didn't call them I was just annoyed about it.
I won't take any offers more than 5 miles for Uber, or customer verification orders after the last time I was tip bated
I can't afford to order anything off any app.
That should be the none tippers mentality 😂
Yes and I got pay 10 by instacart
❤❤❤
Question…Does Louis ever drive & let Mary relax in the passenger seat? 🤔
Mary prefers to drive as she would get car sick
@@TheLongIslandDashExperience, oh ok. Well, that explains it. 😊
sorry but you said $90
You could have use someone I’d I have had a customer that lost there I’d and use there next neighbor I’d I have did that it work it does not need be the one that order it just need to be someone over 21
The ID’s don’t have to match up with what’s on instacart. If its a valid ID it still will go through.
And if the passport or whatever it is, won’t scan the person who ordered it well, I know in my case I was able to have her give me her birthday (she has a valid drivers license) and that worked fine… and seeing the age of her elderly mother and having been on the phone with her because my GPS/data was acting crazy so she helped me find the place… she was at work and she was definitely an adult not bordering adulthood. It was to bring her mom NyQuil, and she was at the door being very patient While the app was just apping… but it doesn’t have to be the person who ordered. As long as they are clearly of age and it hasn’t expired or something you can put it in manually.
I had a $45 instacart order that turned into a $12 order after the tip was baited & pulled.. sad part is i think it was for a kids birthday because thhey ordered a carvel cake, candles, colorful napkins, plates etc etc. plus didnt have ANY refunds i think like a replacement or two but thats it.. the house it delivered to probably cost like $300-400,000 if i had to guess.. yet they tip baited on their kids birthday party seemingly.. like i guarantee they leveraged the tip because they needed those items ASAP & didnt plan the party ahead of time or whatever.. great role models that kid has 😂
I demand to see an uncensored Mary video commenting about the horrible drivers she encounters, guaranteed 10K views
You can scan her I’d, as long as she is of age. It’s was a gift in the app. You kinda made a mountain out of a mole hill
I’m not up to that yet the suspense!
Your daughter's ratio of pay is similar to my zone. 95% of DD customers seem to tip between 1.50 and 2.50. It's nuts.
I haven't watch the video yet but going off the title...I'm going to say no. No you didn't. 😊
I know you're not supposed to, but I have delivered food to kitchens before. A few people I've delivered to have been obviously disabled elderly people who wouldn't be able to get them inside. I'm paranoid, so before actually going into the house, I always make sure to get as good a look as possible for anything awry. This was when I lived in a different area, though. I wouldn't do the same here.
It doesn’t have to be the I.D. Of the person using the app. It can be anyone’s I.D. definitely can’t have them send you a picture in the app.
Have you ever had that problem again about the Id just make one up nobody cares
I love Uber eats but it is always a gamble with tips . I’ve only been tip baited once (it wasn’t a lot) but usually my tips go up rather than down . They should make it to where the tip that’s placed is solid with the option to increase after delivery, not take away .
❤
Before Covid, we had to bring everything into the house (Shipt)
Seriously??? That's a huge safety concern. That surprises me.
The app would except any ID as long as the age requirement is met. Mary should have verified all of this before she left the customers home. It is just like an alcohol order. ID does not have to match person who did order just has to meet age requirement!! Should have just went back knocked on her door and got ID elderly people have ID'S 😮😂😂
✌️😉
Wooohooo
I would have done but would have worn a mask just because you was delivering items that could have been for a sick person.
