- Swapped the Original cartridge chips onto the 802xl Refill cartridges.
This method will only work for the life of the chips. Once they read full you'd need to replace chips again.

After the printer reads empty, you would have to refill it and then buy a new pack of 812xl ink to take the chips out and do it again.

It will still be a while before a better solution will be available. But this method would work if you are in a jam and need to print wide format from an off the shelf, available now, printer.

Hello Sir, I just bought the 7820. I plan to use regular ink and heat transfer for shirt. Will I be able to switch to sublimation down the road if I wanted?
@@ZymixProductions you won't be able to use regular ink for sublimation. But you can switch it later, if you choose, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's much better to start with a new, clean printer.

I finally got the printer to recognize the cartridge. I tried to print but the black isn't printing. Not sure what to do from here. It's printing out like a negative picture.

Hi, I am trying to covert my Eason 7720 printer in to sublimation. So far I was able to get the other colors to work but unfortunately the black is not working. Perhaps you know why and you can help me. I have done everything you have recommended which help with the other colors but the black does not print even when printing a nozzle check. Thank you.

Hi. I’ve converted mine and the colors print ok on the sublimation paper but when I heat press the images, some colors are not showing or printing a different color than what is on the paper. Can anyone help ?

Can this printer be used for heat transfer sublimation mugs? I purchased a WF-7720 but haven't even been able to get past the setup screen, not even to the insertion of the ink cartridges. Contacted Epson through email and they're wanting me to call them tomorrow. If I have to return the 7720, I would like to purchase the 7840, but it says that it's "heat-free" and I've always heard the printer heat is what is needed for heat transfer sublimation.

From what I have learned is that you have to buy new epson ink everytime you have to refill and get new chips each time. Sounds pricey.
@@ohheycarissaj5661 I ended up getting the epson et 2720. It is smaller but I love it and have had no problems. The only thing I had to do it buy the sublimation ink and paper. I was gonna use the actual epson ink eventually for normal printing though.
I am not an expert and I am just starting in this printing venture. I don't think you have to reset the chip if the cartridges are refillable, just refill them and you are ready to go. Although he is using Gorilla ink and not Epson. If they sell Epson ink for refills, then just do the same process he did with his Gorilla ink, but using Epson.

Hellow I have a WF7210 also planning to use Sublinova Ink Smart, do you use ICC profile on your print??? I wanted to convert my printer from pigment into sublimation, I heard many people complain about 7710/7720 printers with dull and inaccurate colors... Do you think sublinova ink will make the WF 7710 print with punchy colors??? hope you can reply
I use the same color settings for all the ink use no matter the brand.

The 7840 is replacing the 7720.

WF-7710=WF-7820
Totally new to this but was wondering couldn’t you just keep the refillable cartridges full so they didn’t run out and you didn’t have to change them out and worry about new chips?

How long did your initialization chips last? I posted on your 5 minute video and I have gone through the chips on the initialization cartridges and a new set of espson cartridges. this is getting expensive and now my printer won't ready the black ink. I have only printed like 15 pages so far. any advice would help..thanks
The counter on the printer was at 40 when oi replaced init cartridges.

ok i did complete set and coversion but my setting do not have the same options. there is no option for a sub or vivid what did i do wrong?
Those are settings that I added. Check my other video for instructions on setting up printing presets.
this way will work for one time run. Can can not refill without replace the chips, the chips have limited pages. Even your guys refill, it still say out of ink when cooldown for ink times ended.

Hello could someone help I have the same printer and did the same setup. My printer will not read my black ink. It keeps saying my black is low and it not. Also when I print my settings are horrible. Lastly I just want to throw the whole printer out the window lol. Now when I try to print it comes out blank 😔

Great video!!! I have a artisan that's prints beautifully..... Slow and my 7620 has a clog that can't be fixed... now you got me wanting to buy another printer... On top of the 2 white toner ones delivered last week... 😂😂😂

Help! I ordered my empty cartridges from you a while back for my 7840. I let the ink run dry yesterday because I forgot to fill it up when I replaced the chip. Now it won’t print that color even though I refilled the ink & changed the chip, done head cleanings & nozzle cleanings. I’ve ordered new cartridges also. Please help!
Im not sure. I've never run into this issue. I've not run into any issues with this printer at all as I don't use it much.
Make sure the vent hole is unplugged so that the ink is able to flow out of the cartridges.
Nothing is covering the vent holes. I’ve done anything. Do you think if I use new cartridges it’ll help? Do you think I’ve damaged the cartridges or the printer?

Probably not. It would be the same process as they use the same cartridges.

Where do you see that because when I go online they don't even sell that brand only the ink but not the printer especially that model at Costco i see a et-2760 at Sam's for $249 but out of stock
@@MYMAKEUPROOMDIVA the ecotank 3760 is currently $349 on Costco website. The sale is over. It comes with 2 extra bottles of black ink. They cake it the Epson ET-3760 Special Edition. I'm assuming because they're including 2 extra bottles of ink.

I thought you could only sublimate on polyester, how were you able to get it on metal?
You can sublimate on metal or other materials that have been coated.

It could be a broken pin if it's just one cartridge that's not being detected. But if you updated the firmware, it will only recognize official Epson chips. You won't be able to use the 3rd party chips anymore.
Thinking about buying this printer until I read that I would have to constantly replace printer cartridge chips. So would a chip resetter not work?
They don't make a chip resetter for this model yet.

Replace the chip with a new one. Printers don't read the physical amount of ink inside the printer.

There still isn't any chipless support for this model. You'll have to continue to swap the chips over unfortunately.

I took the chips off the original cartridge and put them on the sublimation cartridge and they did not work. I followed everything did it all as you showed me to do and it did not work. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Epson chips do not reset. You will have to get new chips from new Epson 812 Cartridges every time.

No. This printer does not have chips that can reset. You’d have to change out cartridge chips every time they read empty.
