liked your ogee tip!
That was a really great fun video, such a cool effect. Your advice at the end about the sealer was very helpful.
Thank you for feedback and glad to help out ☺️
Very beautiful platter Tomislav. Great idea for using left over paint.
That has given me something to think about.
Great centerpiece to hold a bowl of flowers, etc. Love the raised pattern giving the piece texture. You must have an interesting stripe on your ceiling, Tom.
Didn't reach celing however I have most beautiful dust hood cover now😄
Thank you for sharing your awesome bowl technique with paint. Love it. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
Thank you
I love this channell! Always brilliant ideas and clear instruction Thank you TT
Awsome to hear that ☺️ thank you very much
Thanks for the inspiration Tomislav, I love your enthusiasm and easy explanation. 👍.
Thank you John
I was surprised how much I was sucked in by this. Loved it.
Thank you
May the force ( centrifugal. )
Be with you.., lovely work.
Much very thank you (bad Yoda impression)😅
Until very recently, I have mostly ignored ogee bowls. Your thoughtful design layout results in a very nice profile and I will recommend this video to anyone wanting to explore this shape. Many just slap this curve in by eye and it often doesn't work.
Another excellent video.
Thank you Greg☺️
Very cool! I might have to try this. I think I'd build a four-sided box first to capture the paint spray in all directions and keep it from getting thrown into my shop.
Cool idea, good luck and thank you for watching
Another great technique for something different, thanks Tomislav. Boy, am i gonna get dirty!
Gorgeous! I'll have to try that technique. 😲
Tomislav that is realy beautiful. We will try this also. Thank you for sharing!
No worries, look to see your version
FANTASTIC… thanks Tomislav. 👍🏻
Thank you for watching
Very nice Tomislav.
"useless rim" that made me chuckle... I know it's useless, but I tell my customers it is decorative... 🙂
Me to 😂
Really like the shape
Wonderful but really I learn so much from you my head hurts. 🥴😝
Ohh no, then I need to stop Asap😅
Very interesting effect. Thanks for another educational and entertaining video.
Really cool idea. I will have to give that a try. Thank you for the great instruction.
Cool! it looks like an iris in our eyes. If the center portion was black, it would look even more like an eye
That is accually a great video idea 😀
I'm definitely going to try this, I have plenty of leftover paint. Thanks for sharing!!
Wow would love some picture frames like your previous video with this effect - hmmm 🤔 thinking session coming up for me 😊
Indeed, those should be really nice
I love this! Thanks for sharing
Fun. Something new to try
Lost for words, it’s stunning. Need some old spray paint now 😊
Thank you
LOVE THE TEXTURE. Very creative and artistic yet not overpowering. Thanks for another inspiring video Tomislav!!!
Thank You for watching 😀
Very beautiful and a good idea as well. My left over paint cans have a good use now. Hey I see the Bowlsaver Max4, when will it make a debut? Love your work Tomislav. 👍🏾
Thank you, unfourtually max 4 (mine) has production fault so still waiting to see what will happen, but I did test it out and I much more prefer McNaughton coring system
Interesting way to use up ones left over spray paint
Very different,thanks for the information.
WasI the only one yelling..."Less is more!'...? 🤣😂
Its hard to stop,😅
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning 😂 It actually ended up looking great. Can't wait to try it.
That was very enjoyable, thank you.
First time I saw this! Amazing! 🎉🎉
I like your description of how to get the ogee shape. Interesting coloring technique. Turned out nice.
Thank you Mike, Its Jimmy Clewes ogee tehnique, and it works great😀
Very cool that turned out great! Appreciate the tips throughout the video
Thank You for watching
A real fun video. Thanks Tomaslav!
Lovely looking piece
Tolle Erklärung und wunderschönes Ergebnis 🤩
Thank you
Love this technique. I also have a bunch of old have empty cans to use up!
That looks like fun. Never seen that technique before. Got to try it! Thanks!
Thanks,its a lot of fun☺️
like all your videos. I would like for you to name the wood you are using. I would be helpful for beginners.
Thank you very much, I think I said through video that is maple, I think 🫣
Thank you for watching
That turned out beautifully. I'm going to say that this is one of the better examples I've seen, Tomislav. Usually I'll look to Stewart Furini for embellishments. I think I want to see you do more.
I didn't realize spraying on the center was the most effective place. I thought the wavy lines of the paint were interesting at times. I think they showed the acceleration of your lathe like a sine wave. Anyway, I better get into the shop and make my own work.
That is cool video , sine way turning 😅
Those are fun to do!
Very nice.
centrifugal?
Great little fun and interesting project Tommy. Thanks.
, when using scrapers on inside of bowls, particularly smaller bowls where you can’t get tool support inside bowl. How do you prevent catches, what shape scrapers do you use for insides of bowls. Can you explain how to successfully use shear scrapers on insides of bowls and boxes please. I had a catch the other day which ended up snapping an m2 HSS scraper. It snapped at the tool rest, I was scraping with about 40mm tool overhanging. Bottom of bowl scraping. Wood was Gidgee one of the hardest timbers in the world. Bowl stayed on chuck luckily.
Thanks, Gregory from down under in Oz
Hi Greg, sorry to hear that, That is excellent topic for video, is it ok to mention you in video as well?
Love that topic so you can expect the video on this next in line.
Hopefully it will be better to show you rather then explaining 😀
No problem tommi
Look forward to seeing that video
I like it but is the paint food safe? Thank you
Any paint is food safe after few months curing, however I switch to amerikana outdoor acriliq paint as its durable and it does not flake off.... Bear in mind that I use paint on outside, the bowl part where food gets is finished with food safe oil
a work of art. is it food safe ???? was that dry maple
Very dry maple and its not usefull bowl in terms to eat out of but you can put on the table for fruits or something similar.
Good stuff
Is the Americana outdoor a spray paint? I can find it in a bottle, but not a spray can. Thanks!
OnlY bottles I think but if I'm not mistaken, you could spray it. But don't quote me on that
What is that white oil you used? What product would that be in the United States?
Hmm not sure what that would be in USA but some oil manufacturers have oils they call transperent, that is basicly oil with white pigment in it to prevent yellowing
I've been wanting to try a rim decoration like that for a while now, you've finally given me the kick in the tail to get me started. Do you actually use your breakfast bowls to eat out of? cereal and porridge etc? Do they clean up OK? Another great video, thanks again. And many thanks too for the Ogee how to.
Glad to hear that 🤗
Ohh yes, not just breakfast bowls , salad bowls, plates etc.
With this spray paint ,I would only coat outside but it wants to fleck over,so I switch to amerikana outdoor acriliq paint. It can be washed and it will stay like new.
Nice just for curiosity what grit CBN Wheel you use for grinding the tools? They are implacably sharp tools
I use b97 code cbn, manufacturer says its 120 grit but some other sites tells its 180.
My goal is to get 80 grit
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning Ok thanks for the reply, very sharp tools..👍🏽
Hi Tomislav, congratulations on your channel and your works. Can I ask you for an opinion? I would like to buy a midi II plus lathe, how did you find it? I saw that after a short time you bought a better one, did you have any problems with the midi? Would you recommend it to me as a beginner? Thank you.
Hello hi
Yes I would reccomend it, I'm considering to maybe buy it again or smaller one for teaching purposes or travel.
Its a good lathe for the size and motor is better then on competitions.
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning thanks Tomislav, i will buy it!
I love the idea, what a stunning effect. Thank you for sharing with us, Tomi.
No worries, thank You for watching
Centripetal force according to Physics no such thing as centrifugal force!
You can refer to the inertia of the paint as a kind of force. Centrifugal "force" doesn't exist without such inertia or moving mass, compared to say, gravity, which is a force that exists on it's own whether or not it's affecting an object. But in common usage, centrifugal force is a thing that we can relate to.
