I was onboard last week going from Southampton to New York, via Le Harve. One of the onboard lecturers was Stephen Payne OBE, designer of QM2. He explained why there is an upper and lower Deck 3. It is to allow easy egress for the crew from their quarters in case of an emergency.
Thanks for the video from a place I would most likely never see. :) However, it is not possible to replace propeller blades at sea. They carry them for replacement in a port should that be needed, because their shape is unique to this particular ship.
Thank you so much for these video's onboard the cunard ships. All very informative with a great deal of humour, really hope to see you onboard sometime. Are you on the Victoria in the next couple of months , as we are back in November for a 4 day cruise. Keep up the good work.
Really enjoyed this...found it so interesting. Those features are certainly unique! I thought the propellers looked appropriately like whales or dolphin heads.?(Do you think Bleu and Willow would like that lamp post ?😂)
Lovely video. I haven’t been on QM2 yet. I can’t wait to go.
Enjoy it when you do!
Hello William! Appreciated your recognition of QM2 as an ocean liner and enjoyed your five unique features!
Thank you!!
I am from Bali and am very happy to be able to watch this video. Because my son also works here.
That’s great to hear. I may have met him.

Of course not at sea. They are like a spare tyre to a car. Pull over at first port and replace them there.
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
