I head out for my first trotline adventure on Friday - watching you work is inspirational! Gotta get that boat bumping in gear down. Hopefully, I can get it right by the third or fourth pass. Thanks for a great video
Thank you and good luck! You will do fine. I see you Video about prepping for Yanky Caps! That’s awesome. Me and my family did a 3 day to the tortugas and had a blast! Stay safe. Sub to your channel!
@@ladybug1s I could not find chicken necks anywhere - I went with chicken drumsticks... I got all tangled up, in a thunderstorm and called it a day. I am still completely excited about going to try again.
Good ole' Chicken neck does the trick for me. There are others using razor clams and say they produce well. also Bull lips and Eels are good bait as well. I have always used chicken and it gets the job does. You can get 40 pounds from Nick's of Calvert! Thank you for stopping in!
Hello Robert I’m John was a commercial trot line crabber for 15 yrs from laplata. But live in Perth Australia for 18yrs. From the drone shot look like your next to creek by by the power lines. I sure miss it. I got a honey hole for you I know you will catch nice crabs. I do have some tips for you. Glad you make video no one does anymore. I wish they did.
Hey Robert, enjoyed the video. If you can, can you do a video which describes your equipment. Looks like a garden hose reel for storing your trot line? And how does yourr J hook attach to your boat? Looks removable. Nice boat , BTW.
Hello Robert I'm in North Carolina and just found your videos and really like the fishing and crabbing videos and I subscribed and would love to see more videos keep up the good work
Awesome video! I used to crab there all the time years ago and this brought back memories. We would go on the other side of the benedict bridge. Anyhow nice catch!
Hello Paul! Thank you for the suggestion. That sounds like it would improve the drifting issue. I may try that to see if it provides better control. Thanks again! Peace!
It's all good! we have a blast and recommend this method. Its fun and productive. I did not know about this until moving to Maryland. Originally from South Carolina, we used traps mostly. Thanks again for visiting and stay safe! peace!
Hello Peter. Thank you for your comment. I am always looking for ways to improve my crabbing abilities. I love recommendations and will take them with me while I am fishing/crabbing. Thanks again for stopping in and you taking the time. Peace!

Thank you David and thanks for stopping in! Yes, great times! We love to crab and the patuxent river is a great place to go!.
If you place a chain in the middle of your trotline it will help control your line drifting with the current
