It's the land they've built on... When water runs through sea sand mud slides easily happen, majority of those apartments along Mdloti beach were built years ago and have suffered bad rain's through the years and now their giving up! You have to understand that when 1 section suffers a Mud slide, there's a gap that opens up and gives room for more Mud slides to occur because there's space to push! That whole Mdloti Beach area is a hazard spot !!!! It doesn't need alot of rain for the land to move piece by piece 1 after the other. I hope the residents are safe and those at Risk the most, please evacuate!

Another thing is you can't help but have those pipes close to residential areas cause that's how water is supplied to home's... All Residential areas have main water pipes which supplies water in the area, unfortunately when Mud slides occur close to them they shift and burst open. true but what exacerbates it is major stormwater pipes running underground too close to property.
