You and Tifo putting out the best alternative (to the mainstream) football content on RUclips right now
Fourfourtwo on top
@@jaytriple7_i like tifo just a little more but they both slap
442 is miles ahead of Tifo. Adam's delivery is so much more grounded than the self conscious posh Hugh Grant-isms of the Tifo lot.
Tifo is mainstream?
Just because their presenters act a bit weird doesn't make them....hip.
Lots of other small youtubers out there who provide actual insight rather than throw numbers at you.
I'd recommend Harvey Gration- guy has less than 5k subs but makes some of the best tactical content.
@@Never_Wr0ng where did anyone say they were mainstream or hip? Huh?! James Lawrence Allcott also has much better content than Tifo.
This Adam guy is so fucking amazing, I literally could watch him talk about the science of how paint dries and I'll still enjoy it lol
I remember Phil Neville saying he asked the team who wanted to take penalties and nobody wanted to. The impression I got from the article was that Neville just shrugged and walked away. Weigman has made a huge difference for this team ("hit with supreme confidence").
One of the few points missing here is you don't ask for volunteers. You tell the players who will be taking them. You want the five best penalty takers not the five bravest or most diligent souls. This is what Southgate did in the Euros, although he based it on conversion rates in training i think. Personally I think youve got to consider the players character as well, as penalties are about nerve more than technique for me - see Baggio, Platini, Waddle etc.
@@jamesbaxter4920 I remember an article about Southgate contrasting his prep and failure at penalties for England with how he was going to prep his England team to take penalties. So "not being distracted from trusting the well conditioned biomechanics" or "nerve" is important. I'm positive Sancho and Saka would not have missed if Rashford had made. Sancho and Saka looked like they were re-examining all their movements as they took the kick -- to make sure the ball was inside the frame -- instead of "damn the torpedoes; full speed ahead" that Maquire appeared to have. Saka now seems to have that confidence for Arsenal.
I am a Liverpool fan but I must say that I am greatly pleased with the resurgence of your team Newcastle. I enjoy your honest commentary . Great Job, keep up the good work.
A brilliant trick is to knock the ball past the keeper.
Lol I'm so bad at football I think I would have to just aim for the middle and hit it as hard as I can. There's about a 1/10 chance it actually goes down the middle and a 9/10 chance it veers off in another random direction. But if I don't know where it's going, then you certainly don't :p
Remember Jens Lehmann getting his notes out of the sock and then saving the penalty in 2006? That was how it all started... 😂
Mastered the Luis Figo step, pause and strike for all my penalties. Always worked for me.
As a goalie in my youth I never decided on which way to go in advance. Gave me a record of 3 saves from 5 penalties.
Chloe Kelly was caught on microphone saying to Earps “You shithouse” after the penalty win - adding veracity to your IPAD in view of Nigeria claim.
take a full two minutes to walk down the field. start pulling faces like an eight year old to any camera that can see you. take the biggest, deepest breath of all time and just before you begin your run, start to clap as if you're a high jumper who needs to get a rhythm going, all with a smile on your face. Then, with a medium pace, consistent run, strike the ball with your laces aiming for the exact centre of the goal. The thought "you'll look like a right twat if you miss" pops into your head a few times, but you almost instinctively match it with a response - "i don't miss."
okay but did i score
LOL - Community Shield, Man City go into a disorganised huddle and Arsenal get out the iPads and check their notes. Terrifying level of organisation. In pre season, Arteta requested pen shootouts after games. In the first one against Man U, Arsenal were really dreadful. So they have been getting better at them. Nice to see Vieira not sky the ball when it mattered.
Man City have been horrible at penalties for a while. Before Haaland, they didn't even have a reliable penalty taker.
Nice to be so confident @@arglc
You’re a genius mate
Left no crumbs. Ate it all.
Smashing it down the middle
Smack down the middle is where I’m going. Hard and spicy 🌶️
My right. Top shelf. About 1/3 of the way between you and the post.
Buried
For my penalty shot: looking left before my run up, then hammer it right down the middle. Also, re: Earps.....i hope she was watching cat videos.
im placing it perfectly against the bar and in, right in the middle
My left right at the bottom corner, placement is the priority - can't score if you can't hit the target.
It’s so easy to praise when the result works out. I’d love to see some pieces on “this team did everything right but they still lost”. It happens.
Yeah, I'd be interested to know how effective these little things actually are...
Dear Adam,
Canny video as always👍
In the immortal words of George Caulkin, I will tw** my penalty hard, fast & low straight down the middle✊💪🦶Because that is proven mathematically to give a +55% success rate😎😁✊
Regards,
Straight down the middle!
Penalty shot......Hey diddle diddle, straight down the middle 4ft off the ground!
Right top corner
Dw, ur not saving it😂
After you've done all, shoot for the top corner!
It doesn't matter even if you know the direction I'm playing, your gloves just can't reach it.
That's how Fabio Viera played!😊
Straight down the hey diddle middle
i'd shoot to my left(bottom corner)....your right😁
If i was Nigeria I would have started a barny for my space in middle. Ref would have said move over. All thatvcalm gone.
Low and hard down the middle
when I played a little football, I ran straight to the ball and sidefooted the ball toward the top right corner, success ? 50/50 .the goalkeeper never got a chance to save. I missed or scored
The slowest panenka down the middle . Did i score?
@2:08 -- 5 and 4 "remember Lauren James got sent off". USA: our goalie takes penalty kicks.
Top left, postage stamp.
My left, your right. Low down.
Power or placement?
@@FourFourTwo both, obviously
Missed@@Swisswavey
Top right like King maguire
Bang down the middle

I’m shooting it down the middle

It’s a fingertips job, sadly. The crowd are in tears
In off the bar dead centre.

Over the bar. Do I score?
That ones outta here
Bottom left (my bottom left)
Right side.
Scored.
@@FourFourTwo 😁😁
Middle
In!
I hit the subscribe button - did I score?
it's on target!
I'd say it comes down to 2 things.. 1. go first if you get the chance. Pens are scored 77% of the time or whatever the stat is, so you have a significantly greater chance of making the other team play catchup right from the start, and the pressure that comes with it. 2. don't miss
Bottom right
The center circle thing by England is poor sportsmanship imo. Not illegal, just pretty busy league.
*bush
It was crass. Nigerian side should have pushed them out way. But probably amateur not professional from big club. Colonial bullying 😮. Ref should control that. One side of spot each
11 mins and 17 seconds of time I’ll never get back. Does anyone else remember when football was entertaining? Imagine the dull state of football when all we can talk about is tripe like this, VAR, transfers and “box midfields”.
Sounds like you are the dull person
I don't see the England v Nigeria as a good example. The penalties taken were just horrible.
