that's my tribal language!! can't tell you how proud I feel right now. If you guys enjoy this you should come see the tribal gathering at the beginning of every fall season......its magical. this does not even compare.
Why dont you just google "Lango" any you'll get the answer ;) You completely missed continent! :D It's Uganda's dialect which is spoken by 1.8 milion speakers only, so it is a great honor for Yunis Blu3 probably :)
I've watched this song more than 50 times it's ringing in my head and l can't get enough of it ..... congratulations to the composer...Never heard any like it
Christopher Tin is famous for stuff like this. He goes out of his way digging for these kinds of traditional lyrics and incorporates it in orchestral style. Look out for more of his stuff - angel city choir performed most of them as well so its better.
I agree! Out of all the choir's renditions of Christopher Tin's songs, this is by far the most outstanding one because they nailed the choices for the soloists. Jimmer Bolden was just absolutely phenomenal! Have mad love for this track. :)
What a coincident it is!!!! Yesterday (Good Friday) our first rain season resumed after a long dry spell that everyone yearned for rain so that we can till land and plant for a bumper harvest.....and today I miraculously bumped on this song where aliens are singing about how happy we are now......this must be GOD working. I must play this song on radio tomorrow Sunday!! Blessings to the choir
Its a very good arrangement, first it tells of a story of a people wishing for rain - then it arrives in a heavy downpour, but it brings hope forth as with rain comes bountiful harvests - which what exactly happens after the storm subsides and the people begin celebrating for not only surviving the heavy storm but also the guaranteed bountiful harvest. So they begin wishing it again, for the future and the cycle continues - for the smiles of the people.
No matter how often I listen to the Angel City Chorale, I tear up. The Chorale has my heart, Sue Fink is the female Dudamel: living, breathing the music. The songs are dripping from her fingertips. Amazing❤
Ka monwa o wero- if our women rejoice Ber - Good Nyithindo o wero- Children rejoice Ber-Good To wuoyi o wero -the young man sings Ber -Good Jaduobg biro wero- It’s when the old Will rejoice
Fantastic, shame Google sees it as appropriate to interrupt such a work with a poxy advertising halfway through the piece. Fabulous composition too, thank you very much for the translation and lyrics. While music is universal, it is wonderful to have the story, and be able to sing along another time. Blessings 🐨
This is the best track on Christopher's entire album. A very fitting finale. I also like this version better than the one performed by the Soweto Gospel Choir
Absolutely love the translations on the screen from the original. This makes it more appreciative of what is being sung. I would love to be a member of this choir! Bless you Sue and all the members of the Choral who thoroughly sing with heart and soul!✨❤️
Such a difficult score rendered flawlessly. Required the acute attention of NASCAR drivers. Simply marvelous. Just imagine the hours of rehearsal under that meticulous director. A miracle what the human voice can produce. God love you all.
Senhores, meus respeito. Agradecida emocionalmente. Feliz
Amazing! As usual! This Christopher must love East Africa. Does he ever visit the continent? Would love to watch a live performance. And imagine if the original speakers did it? Tears all around.
Marvelous work of art!!! This music is out of this world or rather I'd say it expresses the feelings of joy, hope, and yearning for a better world! Simply amazing!!!
Incredible! So much passion released from everyone, you achieved something truly momentous! I adored every second. A huge thank you to you all as well as Christopher Tin and Sue.

I'm a desert man. I know what it is to pray for rain. This song sounds like the first summer rains feel.

Gods, what a phenomenal voice Jimmer Bolden has. He really makes this piece shine.

CHeck out the version with the actual composer conducting. The lady singing it overwhelms the spirit.
Yes, tears in my eyes and such a swell in my heart.
This song got a new meaning now that my baby girl born the same day that the first rain, after a long time, fell over the city. I love you Isabella.
Hope you named her Akot from kot (rain)🥰🥰🥰
Have you seen Jimmer's face of satisfaction listening to Winifred sing at 2:55 and a then his nodding... ? total bliss
Say this too
Weakened by cancer, this song, this choir, these solists make me beber
Stay strong my friend!

@@Rose-pk6nrNo😅 They butchered them pretty good…lol. But beautiful the same! Really magnificently done.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this! Love Jimmer Bolden!
Agreed! Beautiful voice! All the vocals are amazing! And superb instrumentation!
This would be the perfect soundtrack for Elijah's mini series. After 7 years of drought Elijah prayed for the rain to come back.
This is beautiful! ❤️ It sounds a lot like dholuo, my tribal language 😍 my ancestors were rainmakers so this song really hits the spot!
It is Luo, lango from Northern Uganda, so any Luo speaker can understand.
It is luo
Indeed walelo - we rejoice! What a beautiful song in a beautiful language of the great and indomitable Lango people
In tears at the beauty of this piece, lived in Africa awhile and I miss it, wonderful wonderful thankyou.
Wow so amazing 😍,this is a tribal song shared by two countries, lango(Uganda) and luo( Kenya) I'm proud of it.
no wonder it sounds Luo at some point but then I remember rop is not Luo but Kalenjin and kiny is luo if I'm not mistaken. But the song is cool!
Luo is also in South Sudan, Tanzania
From Ghana🇬🇭🇬🇭. Tanzania🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿 all the way
Can I like a billion times? this is the most beautiful thing I have heard. Thank you Angel City Chorale and keep it going...
