Replace Microwave Handle and Clean Glass

My microwave door handle broke off. This video shows the replacement process. The glass also needed to be cleaned from the inside, so I disassembled the whole door, cleaned the different parts including the glass, and reassembled it. This is on a Kenmore microwave, but I believe the process will be similar if not identical on other brands also. The replacement handle was, strangely enough, made by LG.

very good info, I needed to get to glass, has a paint spot on it from factory,they left it there, but I think factory should make it easier snap n screws

Curious. Why didn't you record the process for removing--and then subsequently replacing--the door of the microwave?

Lothian Mcadam Thanks for watching and commenting. The door removal is at 00:40. In this case, just lift upwards and out. Installation is by aligning the pegs to the holes and allowing the pegs to slide down.

Thanks. I also need to send a photo/information with regards to GE JVM1653 model. On mine you can remove the door by removing the upper vent section first. Bring the entire door in the sunshine if possible. In order to replace handle, remove outer bezel. Then carefully remove inner bezel (be advised) it’s all connected with the glass. Table top is great place to work. Is it possible for me to send a picture out to you? Please advise and thanks again.
