- Much of the west coast of Australia was discovered by accident when Dutch treasure galleons plowed into its fringing coral reefs and left chests of gold and silver on the coral floor. Ben Cropp has discovered hundreds of shipwrecks, including the famous Pandora of Bounty fame but there are thousands more still hidden in a watery grave.

I've never seen a treasure hunter search for gold and valuable coins without using a metal detector. They gave up searching for coins in the seaweed because they couldnt see the bottom. A detector would have solved that problem.
It must be thrilling to hold that much history in your hands!
That cute little Yorkie is living the life, huh?
So knowledgeable! Amazing thank you
Thank you! I really enjoyed this!!
Seems to be a home movie showcasing this older man and all his nice toys!
Ben Cropp and his son have made some fantastic documentaries. I love to watch them.
Seems largely faked , especially that divers helmet
Yeah that diving helmet was in really good and clean condition. Plus the drawing in the rock with the black marker with the psychic hmmm
😂😂😂👍@@RebeccaGambling-kr8im
The soundtrack really made this a life aquatic.
As someone who LOVES shark tooth hunting and hunting ginseng, this looks like it would be SO MUCH damn fun!
imagine being the first treasure hunter to find the part of the ship that was the toilet and grabbed it back to the surface and its now in a museum because of you
Fantastic! This family is awesome 😎
As a diver of 34 years I was born in the wrong part of the world. The barrier reef was and always will be my dream to explore.
Me 3 I was born in the wrong century & decade
I Personally would live to have been Born in a time where space travel is Possible and we have Faster then Light Engines but then I would probably never be born
@@mexicant407 same here born in the wrong continent, country.. there's a place I want to go to but can't.. if I were American or Canadian or English or French or at least Jewish all I have to do is pay for a ticket and jump on next ✈️🛫 😆
Great show. So sad to see all that garbage on the beach.
Great documentary 🍿
Mockumentary
👍 13!This is amazing my friend! Love it! 👍
I love the ocean
60,000 pounds of gold would be worth 1,728,000,000.00 U.S. dollars today.
Ounces NOT pounds
Just curious... what year was this filmed/made??
From Oban on te West Coast Of Scotland where it rains all day every day thank you.Hope you find that mother load...todays the day..
Todays the day k mel
Reminds me of the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou…
This was brilliant. Cannot imagine being able to treasure hunt using only a snorkel and mask.
Never heard of metal detectors lol
Now tell me something , what is the use for treassure diving if you have to put it all back to the bottom.
i'm pretty sure he would've kept everything and just "filmed" himself putting stuff back. It's not Ben's style to put things back.
Looks like an interesting guy to hang around with...
I think you’re a clever storyteller😎🇺🇸
Smells like BS
😆 😂 @@Thelostgoldhunters
And all looking for the cash box in the tern 😂
hmmmm...by chance...A DIVERS HELMET!RARE.COINCIDENCE?
Ben Cropp is a respected diver who does not plant things to be found on camera.
That divers helmet was an amazing find and he would probably find a lot more relating to the wrecks in that area if he hung around but the sticky mud wouldn't give up its treasures easily.
I absolutely love Ben's videos but they tend to flit about too much between locations and even many years. Amazing finds though. I wish I had the ability and nerve to dive.
Enjoy your video.
be a sailor in 1950
crew member is in the toilet
Really need to pee
pee in empty bottle
dont want it to spill over the deck so stopper it and leave it outside the toilet
ship sinks
50 years later john finds mysterious bottle
Why can you keep the coins but have to put other stuff back? makes no sense!
You can't keep the coins, they have to be handed in to the museum. Theyre government property
All those years looking for the sun, you find it and THEN research to find its already been found? Uhh... I guess thats why I dig coins, in the dirt, with a shovel.
Dabell igel ,albania
@ 4.21 is that a crocodile ?
I don't see a crocodile 🐊
Utterly fake video
Finding a brass divers helmet in the mangroves smells of BS,,,
I’m an ozzy , Ben crop doesn’t bs , as I’ve found an old diving helmut myself - Newcastle NSW
Hi done those cave painting himself...lol..
Dutch "treasure ships" ?? First time I hear this term applied to the Dutch. Pray tell, which kind of treasure were the Dutch transporting ?
The Dutch East India Company..
@@williamshaw8106 So then "treasure" was used in the general sense of "cargo"? Seems like a bit of a loose stretched usage of the word "treasure". I'm a Dutch national, and when the Dutch talk about treasure in the 17th century, it's not about normal cargo like spices, but about literal gold and silver looted from the Spanish (such as by famous Dutch privateer Piet Hein). The cargo of the normal Dutch ships in the 17th century (i.e. the commercial fleet, not the privateer fleet) was spices and slaves, not precious metals. This is in contrast to the Spanish, who did transport lots of gold and silver in their cargo ships (from their gold/silver sources in America).
SEEMS LIKE A DREAM $$$$ IT COST BIG MONEY FOR THAT HOBBY $$$ THROW THINGS BACK ??? HMM $$ GOOD LUCK LOOKING FOR HELP ??? Metal detection?? Not on film anyway?? NICE HE ALREADY HAS LOOT???
So very scripted!
Complete BS you mean
Jesus Christ was NOT a Caucasian man...✌
Jesus Cristo no era un hombre Caucasico... ✌
How do YOU know?
"He" probably wasn't even a man at all 🙄
Probably related to where he was from? A good Jewish boy.@@rondj1965
Who said he was? What difference does it make?
I would love to go treasure hunting with that blond. Diver down !!!😂
It's always silly to hear i went stolen gold but doesn't care about the history of a cannon or something historical. If u want gold go dig it up. There are many things i have wanted in life & i got it. Gold is not one of them
