And be a good listener! Don't just ask questions that you write down, ask follow up questions.
You are right
I have 3 interviews scheduled today. Never done it before. Thanks for the helpful advice I'll drop back by after.
How did it go?
I am a lecturer at a College in Windhoek, Namibia and loving this... You make me look like a boring teacher (and I am fun)!!! You are so cool. Thanks! Sharing with my senior Journalism and Media Students!
Just want to say I REALLY enjoyed this video in any way - informative and also funny, fantastic - you have a new fan.
What a great video and good use of humour to get points over thanks! from David in Sydney.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really just made the info stick in my mind. My dream to become a journalist and this really helped. THANK YOU!
One difference, most journalists, unless you are doing a puff piece, don't tell the interviewee the questions in advance. Might talk about what the subject area will be, but exact questions in serious news interviews . . . nope, nope, nope.
@@Rosarium2007 Again, thxs so much.
Your advice is really good By the way.
If you can, do a test recording in your recoding location to make sure your ears aren't missing what the microphone won't., such as HVAC systems. Your brain might be totally filtering out the gentle humming sound that is hitting your ears, but your microphone will probably capture the sound of that hot or cold air perfectly.

Do you have tips on being interviewed? I can't find any videos on the other side. A website is interviewing me and im not sure if I should not say some things and what not
Can you do a video on best video equipment please...
I have my first interview tomorrow. This will go well
Wow..
I started ''prep'' for this type called T.O.E.M.A.C.K.O.H 🤷♀️🤦♀️🙋♀️ i have a interrogation computer starting with/useful applications it's a ''restaurant '' 🤯👋😒😶
My problem is getting the interview in the first place. I'm just an aspiring journalist and I'm trying to write an article for my college assignment, I've sent emails and have had nothing back. I get the feeling that because I'm small potatoes right now, no one wants to give me the time of day. Any advice?
Leave the big fish and find a growing fish. I hope they finally responded? Don't give up.
Wonderful piece, hopefully we can get in contact personally
