    Just received these and they fit great! The suggestion in this video is to order a size up but I would suggest against that. Just loosen the laces and you’re golden. If you go up a size you run the risk of looking like you’re wearing clown shoes since these are on the slimmer side of silhouettes. If you are ordering from somewhere that provides free shipping and returns get both sizes and return the one you don’t want.

      To clarify, I size up for all Nikes (compared to my usual size in every other brand). so I meant, size up if that's what you normally do for Nikes. Sorry if that wasn't clear, but glad you found a pair that fits you well!

    Kinda weird to compare a $90 sneaker to a $300 Common Project sneaker, obviously the leather will be worse quality than premium brands

    • @EffortlessGentTV
      @EffortlessGentTV  3 года назад +2

      hmm, did you watch the video all the way through? it wasn't just a comparison of killshots to CPs.

  • @joshhampton7628
    @joshhampton7628 3 года назад +25

    Okay, I think I get you point. If you spend more money you’ll get a better quality sneaker. I agree with you. However, I don’t think it’s far to compare a sneaker from an athletic shoe company to one from a luxury shoe company. The latter should have better quality leather, especially if it costs more than double.
    I own the Killshot with the blue Swoosh and the Morgan trainer from Beckett Simonon. I recommend both, they serve different purposes.

    • @dannyt4663
      @dannyt4663 3 года назад +6

      Exactly, it’s kind of a silly comparison lol... “Toyota Camry is okay at the price but it ain’t a Lexus!” Well no shit. Almost like the purpose of the video is mostly to plug referral links to expensive sneakers 🤔

    • @EffortlessGentTV
      @EffortlessGentTV  3 года назад

      It's a solid option for under $100, which I did stress in the vid! I agree that luxury leather sneaks aren't a good comparison. But that's why I prefaced it by saying IF you have more than $100, or if you can save up for a bit longer, it's worth the wait to pick up something better.
      BUT if you love Nike and / or just want a beater shoe, the Killshots are classic. Also lots of guys in the comments saying they found em for $55 - $70ish... these are a must-buy at that price point, for sure.

      Bright white is easier to clean than you think. They make tons of sneaker cleaners, and in a pinch, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works really well. Also I never worry about my white leather sneaks not being perfectly white. They're shoes. They get dirty. It's fine. Also with these, they're often on sale. I have the burgundy check Killshot 2s. I think they're nice, but at msrp ($90), overpriced. The styling isn't that different from some Nike SBs models like the Checks, Charges, or Portmores. Higher heel tab, some suede hits, and the gum sole. But the SBs can be had for around $45 and these are twice that.

  • @kinggrantking
    @kinggrantking 3 года назад +2

    One thing the Killshot 2 or Common Project alternatives lack, IMO, is the slim profile. I got a pair of white/white Greats Royale, and while the leather quality is very nice, they're absolutely massive. They're literally the same profile as a Stan Smith or Air Force 1. Definitely not as versatile or quasi-business-casual as the Nike's or Commons. Even outright clones like the New Republic Kurt are still 10%+ wider per size than the Commons. If someone other than Nike or Common is getting my money, they gotta slim down.

    • @EffortlessGentTV

      A lot of people are saying this. I personally love the Greats and don’t find them bulky... anymore. When I first got them, they did feel a bit chunky. You get used to them I suppose. I find the Koios to be lower profile.

      @@EffortlessGentTV Thank you for the video and for the reply. That's really good to know-- I was leaning towards the 1/2 larger size, as I was worried about it feeling tight long term and not breaking in.

      @@mikeschultz1665 i ordered both sizes and just received them today. I'm stretching them out with a tennis ball. The larger size is getting all wrinkled in the toe box after just trying them on and like you said, toes are swimming.

      basically 🤷or if you just want minimal nikes, also a good choice, since most are really sporty (also love the Tailwind, Internationalist (if they're still making them), and Blazer

      The name. C’mon man. Nike SB made a “skate video” with the members of the “Hockey skate team”, hence the name of the shoe. Crap, the name of the shoe is a double entendre.

    Most Nike products suck, they are all very overpriced, poor-quality & poor value, they use human sweatshops in Asia to maximize their profits and their customer service is horrendous, that's the best I could say about them, I'll never purchase another Nike product of any type at any time for the remainder of my life !

    I dunno, I really love this shoe. I bought these for skating and I only love one more shoes other than these. Fricking Adidas, their skating shoes are top par

      It's not a bad shoe, especially for the price you can get them for nowadays
