The nice thing about malls in Bangkok are they are more of an experience than a place to buy big box store items like in the US. They have country themed malls, malls with floating markets, malls with market stalls etc. It's a nice place to escape the heat, but also just see a lot of cool stuff and chill. Also, the Thais are smart, they know that their malls are world famous and are tourist attractions in and of themselves so they keep on building them.
I just love Bangkok, can't wait to get back to this crazy busy beautiful city! Less than 40 days!!!

We need more public space too. Shopping malls are good as giant air-conditioned hangout spot, but places like public libraries are severely lacking.

I sincerely believe that we don't need more shopping centers, what we need is to fix the alleys that are dead ends, narrow and zigzaging

Why not? Dont be silly.This shopping mall is bulilt by 100% Thai PRIVATE sector to help boost retail and tourism atmosphere. This mall is not luxury expensive mall. It will focus on life style of people around the area that they need . To fix the soi alley is concern with GOVERNMENT sector.
I always enjoy watching your RUclips and I am traveling in Bangkok NOW 555. I went to Phrom phong station yesterday 😅 Anyway you told what I want to say. I love Thailand ane come here 2 òr 3 times every year. I'm sometimes shocked at thoses alleys and canals you said. I accept them as a part of Thai and admire but your government has to do something 😢

อยากไปบ้างแต่อาศัยอยู่ต่างจังหวัดตื่นขึ้นมาเจอแต่ภูเขา ทุ่งนา ป่าอัอย
ค่อนข้างผิดหวังมากๆ พื้นที่น้อย มี ikea ที่น่าสนใจหน่อย นอกนั้นก็ร้านเดิมๆที่เห็นในห้างอื่นๆ สรุป ก็แค่ห้างอีกห้างนึง

That buses are so eye catching that attracted me to ride it when in bangkok. Simmilar to tuktuk, it's so iconic like bangkok from the past. Love to try it feeling classic. Please keep it running and maintain it well coz it's an icon and legends. Bangkok is one example of charming olds mix very well with modernity. If everything gone too modern people will skip Bangkok as nothing more interesting to see and experience.
