- The Emsphere, the newest shopping mall in Bangkok, is located in the heart of the city, adjacent to BTS Phrom Phong station. It is easily accessible, although the walk from the station may be a bit long. However, the skywalk makes it a breeze.
The lower floors are home to a variety of restaurants, as well as an event space. The restaurants are all quite luxurious and spacious. Upstairs, you'll find fashion, gadgets, and electronics. The interior of the mall is modern and stylish.
The highlight of the mall is the Ikea on the third floor. The store is surprisingly comprehensive, with a wide variety of products. You could easily spend hours browsing the aisles. The Ikea food court is also quite large and inviting.
In addition to the Ikea, the mall also has a showroom for luxury cars and supercars.
The upper floors are reserved for UOB Live, which is not yet open. It is expected to open in early 2024.
Overall, the Emsphere is still under construction. There are still some finishing touches to be done, especially on the ceiling. However, it is already one of the most exciting shopping malls in Bangkok. There are plenty of photo opportunities, and even the bathrooms are stunning.

i was here a few days ago. the food stalls are good. the shopping is really weak here. nothing unique.

I stayed near there last week at an airbnb on Sukhumvit soi 41. This mall is beautiful, but not much essence imo. The only interesting thing for me is the IKEA where you can get exclusive merchandise that's only available on that store. I'd prefer local night market such as the one in front of Radjamanggala stadium, I think you should a video on that, Chon. I find that market unique because there's so many halal food there compared to other night markets. Even Sampheng Market is more interesting than Emsphere mall lol. In total I spent only an hour at Emsphere, mostly enjoying IKEA food with the view of park next door where there's a dancing fountain (since IKEA in my country only serves halal food) compared to 6+ hours I spent in Sampheng market. Oh and I hate traffic on Phrom Phong and Sukhumvit area in general.

Bangkok needs sidewalks and trees, not another mall.
True. Those malls weren’t designed for the benefit of the majority of Thai people but rather for specific groups with purchasing power. Nevertheless, it’s worth mentioning that most luxury malls consistently have impressive pavements at their entrances and surroundings.

How do you feel these malls are affecting your local community?
I mean these malls are more designed for tourists as you stated you spend 300 bht compared to about 150 bht outside?
This is why I am interested in the older like mbk. Where it focuses on your local goods etc nothing high class like Gucci or lv or whatever which is not what tourists actually come to Thailand for.
I am not sure even locals will support expensive malls
Luxury malls in Bangkok mainly cater to the wealthy and the city's elites. While anyone can visit for food or regular shopping, not everyone can afford luxury goods or supercars, often drawing in more window shoppers. On the other hand, places like MBK or similar malls welcome people from all backgrounds. Interestingly, while malls in the US are experiencing declines, malls in Thailand are booming.

I bet many Thai folks would find saying "Emsphere" a bit of a tongue-twister. It can be pretty frustrating!
Good mall to walk around in for a few hours to escape the heat or rain. Food court options are excellent as you can see. Nice elevated walkway from the BTS station right into the entrance.
300 bhat is not expensive I pay triple that in America for a dish

I literally just paid $26 for food at a restaurant in Chicago that will last me all of 30 minutes. So paying 300 i would gladly pay . I'll be in Thailand in a couple months 😁

I hate malls. I was in Thailand for 3 weeks last month and my local friends keeps on taking me to the mall once per week. They love Central Mall for some reason 🙄
I feel the same way. It's not that I hate malls, but having three massive ones nearby is just too much. With the crazy traffic, the BTS seems like the only quick way around. Thailand hasn't really shifted its focus towards improving basic infrastructure and city planning to cope with this city growth.
i like how khun Chon intentially ignored my comment about the non-existant member perks. Dont offer a paid membership if you dont deliver promised perks. Its very dishinest as a youtuber 🙄
Emporium group actually aims for Thai but the old style thinking is totally worn out that no one really goes there. It`s way too repetitious and boring with same crap in all 3 shops LOL way over desensitising !
