Still miss this show. It’s premiere was damn near 30 years ago 😮 it was a really good, good old fashioned good guy vs. bad guy story. It really should have gotten beyond the two seasons it was on, they were clearly setting the story up to go further the final few episodes that were produced. The show was shot almost entirely on location. The ratings for Season 1 were quite high from what I understand. However early on the biggest problem was that it aired in the middle of the night in some markets, at odd overnight hours! Season 2 the ratings started strong but crashed and cratered after a point. It’s cancellation was due to low ratings not being able to sustain/justify production costs. They were...doing some wild stuff toward the end which had to be expensive. A real shame, I had hoped we’d get to see Darien find, catch and send all 100 fugitives back plus his own trip home to his own time. I often wonder what kind of reception he’d have gotten when he got back. My Dad, who also watched the show, thought it would have been a quiet welcome home just as his arrival in our time was quietly in a bathroom stall.
I believed that in the end, he would have stayed in the present. In the future, he had no family. We don't know if he even had any friends. But we know he had a great love for history... which he could witness happen by staying. Also, there was the love interest who we only saw in the series opening. Elyssa Knox died in the future, but in the present, there was Annie Knox, Elyssa's ancestor who looked just like her. I thought they were planning on bringing her back later on, but they didn't have the chance. So, I think he had more than one reason to stay.
you mean that White people were deemed second class citizens of the world government and were unable to vote (later revealed close to the end of the shows run)
this show predicted 4 things that come to mind. pocket computers (smart phones), siri (selma in this show), mixed martial arts (marsh ti, or however you spell it) & white shaming.
I was never clear on the racism in this show. Blanco was a racial slur for being white? If so, it's weird that the people shouting it looked white too.
Many of those people are clearly asian, I always thought they are white but americans think they are not, even if some of them, like the japanese are whiter than the mediterranean europeans.
Isn't the Europid race is the minority race today? It depend aboriginal australians are the same race as Negrid or not. If they are than yes, Europid is the minority race and the hate of this race already started.

And remember, he had a great love for the “United States,” which apparently doesn’t exist in his 22nd century.
Yes, I think he might’ve stayed.
In Australia, where it was filmed, it had a 10:30pm timeslot, so it wasn't on prime time here, sadly.
Wow man, I used to love this show, who would have known that it's story line predicted the future.
Predictive programming.
You mean social changes? 😢
you mean that White people were deemed second class citizens of the world government and were unable to vote (later revealed close to the end of the shows run)
It was My favorite tv 📺 show in childhood ❤️
August 17th, 2160 is Sunday 😎
Not that any human being would be alive then, or 2100 for that matter.
One of my favorite TV series along with shows like Night Rider. This series didn't last nearly long enough; damn the TV executives. :)
Blast from the past. Awesome
I always wanted to learn Mash-T,
What will be its equivalent now?

I'm still waiting to be called a Blanco 😂
BLANCO, BLANCO, BLANCO!@@140tvuk
“Cisgender White male” is almost the same thing nowadays.
Or CISHET scum is another one the "woke" throws around nowadays.@@TommygunNG
We are now 2 years away from Darien's time frame, and we STILL don't have time travel....
Uhhhh, what? 2193AD is still way off.
@@AgentExeider I don't know what I was thinking - I had 2023 in my mind for some reason. Been too long since I've watched the series....

Using AD in dates... this would suppose a Christian based year system would be allowed under the world government..
THE SUMMER OF '92?

I was never clear on the racism in this show. Blanco was a racial slur for being white? If so, it's weird that the people shouting it looked white too.
And yet today, whites are calling other whites racist.. where calling someone "straight white male" is the worst slur of all.
I can see some Asian people in those shots.
Many of those people are clearly asian, I always thought they are white but americans think they are not, even if some of them, like the japanese are whiter than the mediterranean europeans.
Yellow peril was a fear in America in the 19th century, but now it's more a planet of the apes terror now 😢
There are a lot of light skinned latinos that could pass for white even today
Being member of a minority race - how prophetic
Yep, the series was ahead of its time...
Fun fact, the only people who care about race have no other way to become a meaningful part of any group
@@alakani What you said doesn't make any sense.

@@Zodroo_Tint Sorry but I don't hang out with dumb annoying people even if they're the same color as me
