btw what are those string muffles that are at the guitar nut? I've seen him using those before when tracking solos and stuff where he needed the strings to be muffled/muted.. Keith has an orange one on his guitar.. any idea what these are and where they can be purchased??
im not sure who its made by, but its basically a bit of fabric to mute over strings, guitarists that have them normally bring them from behind the nut to just in front when tapping and soloing

It's called a Fret Wrap I believe and it works but it can also be used for muting the strings while your sweeping or whatever but it's really better to use it for muting strings behind the nut and you can buy 'em on Amazon or musicians friend. Also Guthrie govan uses the fret wraps to mute strings behind the nut and That's what Keith is using the video too.

The part of the string that goes from the nut to the tuners can make some unwanted noise while playing, so the foam eliminate all that noise.
