Nice video. In our experience the charging network in Wisconsin make our ID4 a local car only unless you really are into EVs and finding obscure chargers (and hoping they're working and not full). Love the car and hopefully it will start turning around in 2025 when the Tesla superchargers can be used.
I’m interested to hear when you’re 1st Edition gets an actual over the air update. I’m considering getting a 2021 Pro S but would like to know if a 2021 is capable of getting a real no kidding OTA update. Nice to see your 1st Edition functioning well.
With VW announcing they are switching the NACS (North American Charging Standard) that Tesla uses in North America, road trips should become significantly easier for non-Tesla EV's simply due to how many of them are available, including in Appleton. I'd also recommend installing their Universal Wall Connector at your new house, because it has both the NACS connector and an adapter that will allow you to charge your ID4 and any other EV using a J1772 port. It will greatly help you to future-proof your EV charging needs once you get another EV, as those automakers will also be putting a NACS charge port on their EV's starting sometime in 2025. If you get a second one and connect them together on the same line, they can split the power as needed so if one is charging, you get full power. If both EV's are charging, it splits the power. Look for the tax credit for installing a charging station at home, IRS Form 8911. I believe you can get 30% of the cost to buy the EVSE (electric vehicle supply equpment) and installation costs, up to $1000 on your Federal tax return.
I am still considering my EVSE options. Right now, I'm leaning towards the ChargePoint Home Flex just because an app that tracks my energy usage is important to me... and I've watched too many State of Charge videos where Tom deep freezes the cables. The ChargePoint cables seem to be the best, and I like the integrated holster. I'd consider the Tesla one, but it doesn't have energy usage stats in the app as far as I'm aware, at least not for non-Tesla EVs.
Good to see you back!
Happy to be back!
Nice to see you again.
Thanks for watching!
That must be your ID4 in the Plug Share picture dated July 3rd, of the Appleton charger!
Indeed, 'twas me!

Congrats on the move to Cudahy from a fan in St. Francis 😊
Thank you! We will be two blocks south of St. Francis in the far north end of Cudahy. Feel free to wave or say hi if you see us!
Too funny. Welcome to the neighborhood! If you see a grey i4 around, it’s probably me. 😉

I received an email stating that I will be getting an OTA update "very soon"... As soon as that happens, I will upload a video!
