- An alumnus of IIMB’s prestigious doctoral program specializing in Corporate Strategy & Policy, Dr. Samir Kagalkar's education career has 24 years of experience spanning across Business, Society & Government domains.
He has a BA in Economics from National College Basavanagudi, Bengaluru and an MA in Economics from the prestigious Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics, Pune. This was capped later on with a PhD from IIMB (Corporate strategy & Policy).
He has served in the Modi Govt (2016-2018) as Additional PS to Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers. In specific, he worked closely on the Jan Aushadhi program, helping it scale massively. Currently he heads the Economic Cell of BJP Karnataka as its State Convener since 2020.
His other past engagements include: Heading Corporate Affairs at Ola,
Director of MIT SOG, Pune - mentored by TN Seshan, (Political leadership school), Chief Academic officer at Avagmah, an investee firm of Infosys’ Kris Gopalakrishnan, Banking Executive at HSBC, India.

I agree that November 8 demonetization damaged the Indian economy and it forced the Indian economy to digitise. that transitioning was not painless
But I have lived through UPA2 when prices of vegetables would increase by 30% every 2 months, So I disagree that Manmohan Singh was a better pm
What Pakistan is going through now is something similar India went through in upa2 when gdp growth rate was 5% with an inflation rate of 15%

Manmohan was a great economist but that’s different from being a PM. A PM has to be much more than an economist. Modi is a strong visionary leader who understands INDIA. Hope people of India vote wisely.
MMS has never proved to be a good economist.
Eg. He was chief financial advisor, when Indira Gandhi nationalise banks till it collapsed in 1989.
1991 liberalisation was compulsion not reforms. Yes, IMF made the policy.
If MMS was that good, he would have carried out further reforms, which he didnt.
2004-2007 growth was result of reforms & infra made during ABV.
Which was still poor compare to global growth.
2008 crisis was not managed, it was never required to manage as our economy was detached from global affairs & to make it worst he gave out high risk loan.
Guy was an overrated but decent bureaucrat, but a terrible politician.

3rd thing capital expedituer yes in upa is less interms of gov side. 2 sides are there in gdp one gov and 2nd private or fii. Why private and fii contribution is all time low. And such a massive capital expendituer then why from 2014 to 2020 gdp can not reach beyond 8%
Dont forget the slump during covid … FDI is coming in now . Also many FDI were banned since they were just investment for conversion nd terrorism nd anti natiinal activities .
