I watch loads of other bushcraft videos and your is as good as them brilliant keep them coming
Thanks so much Roger 😊
Know exactly what you mean about not being comfortable pitching up if people are close by. Loved the friendly 🐷 at the end😁👍. Take care - Dave
Thanks Dave 😊
Your vids just keep getting better and better ... I love the" realness" the way you smile when things are going good and the deeper "mindfulness" moments... The music and footage was top notch on the rocky path to the trig... Just loved it all even " I'll love you and leave you all". So natural ...keep doing what you do ..you gonna have a million subscribers before you know it !!. Xxx
Thanks so much Tracey! I'm so glad you're enjoying the vids 🤗
Wonderful video! I really liked the pigs at the end, haha!
Loved this video. I love your raw, honest style.
I totally agree - why buy other stuff when yours is perfectly good?
So many channels reviewing new gear, running give-aways as they have no more space for all the gear etc!!
So refreshing to see someone thankful for what they have and happy to make do. Huge respect to you for this - and for so many other elements of your journey.
I always feel great after one of your videos. Inspirational, refreshing and real. Thank you. I hope you can feel the love and support in return from your followers :-) Oh, and the pigs were fabulous LOL
Penny thank you so much, this is just wonderful to hear! I hope you're well and are having a good week ❤️
Hi Jems 😊 Some amazing scenery and even with the fog! I think this was one of my favs but the pigs at the end may have swung it 🤣. I couldn’t stop giggling, they wanted a little snout scratch 😀. Have a great week 🤗
They were so cute! Made my day stumbling across them 🤗
There's nothing I can say here that you don't already know (or learnt from others or worked out for yourself). You're right about the mist, too (kinda reminded me a bit of 'american werewolf in london'). This one really reminded me that this year's overnights and outings have had to be put on hold, sadly (been an 'interesting' year and a half for me so far, as the Chinese might say, and set to continue) so you'll just have to enjoy yourself for me, too (tsk, obligations, huh?!). It'll come back for me, sometime.
Keep on keeping on. Thanks for this one Jem😉
well done gal,you are a natural person,up when its up n down when its down .carry on camping tis good for the soul🐷🐷
Thanks so much Tad.... I try to keep it real and be as honest as possible 🙌🏼
The pigs are discussing whether to eat you or not. Lol 😆
I'm glad they chose not to 😳
Well done, great video. I'm not far from the Roaches.....Doxey pool (19:22) is inhabited by a water nymph called Jenny Greenteeth. If you swim there she'll lure you to the bottom where you will meet your final fate.....honest, it's true. I once dipped a couple of toes in but it wasn't enough thankfully! 👍😱
I love little stories like that. I'd be interested to know how it started 👀
Great vid - and well done for making the best of the conditions - not sure I’d have been as upbeat…!
I had a similar experience on the Roaches last year, albeit without the rain… it was a white-out, and so it was very ethereal going over the ridge as you say with the strangely shaped rocks appearing out of the mist.
Here-here with the solo-hiking monologue!
Worth mentioning a couple of places very close by that I was excited that you might have visited - Lud’s Church… which by my reckoning you must have camped below… and Hen Cloud, which is the small escarpment standing on its own at the end of the Roaches… both are amazing places, and so definitely worth returning for in better weather - I intend to go back at some point and go over the Roaches on a clear day, because the views are supposed to be lovely 👍
Thanks for sharing Matt, I'll check them out. So many places I want to go though 😂
Those rock outcrops looked like something out of Wuthering Heights - kept looking for the "hound of the baskervals"
Well done Jem nice camp and walk loved the Pigs. Look forward to your next outing. 👍🏼
Thanks Rich 😊
Wow.! Such lovely meadows..lush green all around..gorgous stream and waterfall..heaven on earth !! Lucky u jem !! U got to experience it n take it all in !! Almost could smell the freshness of nature thru ur video.!! U could invest in a lite overhead tarp.! Which u can carry with u just in case it rains heavy.!! Will keep u n ur lanshan tent protected.!! Looking gud jem.!! Loved the mist !! N rain !! Was going to putup notice !! - jem is missing !! 😂😂 Jeez thats a longtime absent !! Cya till next adventure !!
Only 20 mins from where we live. Was there every weekend during lockdown. Camp spot looked good.
Spur of the moment trips I find are the best another great vlog jem .
Love these vids. Such wonderful scenery.
Looks like I got book an evening off to catch up with last few videos you have posted . 👍😁
😂
@@jemsjournal : managed to watch this video .. sitting in car 🚗 👍
Beauty with the beasts, nice vid, well done Jem.
Well done Jem. Another crackin vid. 👍
the unpredictability of the weather is the most changeling part of these hikes, well done though
Great trek through the peaks so far Jem. Nice tip regarding the foil food bags 👍 make do with what you have 😁 works for me for any season.. Great video and becoming a true wildcamping explorer x 😁
Well done. Another great video. 👍🏾
Great vid, thanks :) I'm headed there next week, have got a better idea of what to expect now, thanks again d:P
Thars great! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment 🤗
Nice vid jem , love the little gate I would of had to go over the wall 🤣
Proper wild camper now ...arn't you Jem ..👍
I'm getting there Terry 🙌
Top tip for the food pouches!
However for us penny-pinchers, kenco sell instant coffee in pouches...I wonder if they will work as well?
Maybe.... I've not seen them, but always good to recycle and reduce waste where you can 😁
Did you stop at the Wincle brewery? Looks like you missed out on Ludds Church as well :) If you go back that way again for a camp there's a lovely spot near 18-19 mins into your video that overlooks the valley and reservior on a clear day which now has a fence alongside so it's even more private from the path :)
No. I didn't stop at the Brewery as I don't drink and wanted to find a camp spot. It looked lovely though 😊
Another great trip👍.I know it hard to justify the expense of having 2 lots of kit but a summer bag or quilt and a summer pad could save you a kilo in weight but I agree your in it for the long haul so adding items when you can is the best way.the thing I like solo hike and camps is that it's your hike and your camp and do whatever whenever you feel like on the trip it's your decision.
I hear ya...... I am happy with my weight though and it doesn't hinder my walk anymore 🙌 I've got it down to 7kg and it all fits in a 30l bag so I'm happy with that. If I were to invest in anything it would be the bag as that's quite heavy.
@@jemsjournal you do really well to get it all in a 30l bag
👌 👍
It's sometimes more interesting to go out without any real plans, you never know what you might find. In this case, enough bacon to keep me going for a month ☺
A love treak dear ,I smell bacon hey hey
