I have been playing the f1 games and the f1 games only for 9 years. I was in a PSGL race and it would have been my first points after 2 months of hard work, my game crashed. Have not launched the game for 8 weeks now and tried other sims, other sims are much much better. I cannot see myself turning back to the F1 franchise in the close future unless F1 23 has insanely good reviews.
same for me these games have been part of my life since 10 years grew up with them. Fell in love back in the days did league racing on F1 2020 and 2021 pretty competetivel but F1 2022 is just garbage didnt touch it in 3 months and wont buy 2023 unless its a big improvement

I'm completely new to Codemasters f1 games. The last time I played f1 was grand prix 4 with a controller. I love the game, and I'm enjoying it, especially after buying a wheel. The reason I bought a wheel is to drive without traction because it significantly reduces the car output, and I don't feel competitive. I thought a wheel and pedals (Logitech g923) would be enough, but It's more frustrating now because I struggle, especially on the exits. Now I feel that I need a cockpit, or something close to this. The body position is getting more important to coordinate wheel moves and pedals and to not cause an injury to your back or something. I think that driving accessories are very crucial to this game.
I think the most inportant thing would be a ranked system thats working and full of players like LFM or gt7 or iracing, just so you dont have to play only league racing but jump straight in races of the week against people ranked by speed and sportivity
I don't enjoy playing it - just feels to much arcade and driving visually. I also hate the traction model, it's way too unpredictable and everyone ends up using ridiculously high gears to compensate for that. It's not that it's difficult, I could be ok with that, it's just random.
I used to play with a pad but recently i bought a sim rig so i´m starting to enjoy the game very much now. Always great to watch this F122 videos from time to time mate!
"Inconsistent" is the word I'd describe the F1 22 Game. But it's in many ways unbelievable inconsistent. Driving the same lines with the same inputs, lap after lap in TimeTrial or open lobbies, but you get different outcomes every single time f.e.. When it comes to the force feedback it's the same story, especially in changing conditions. Sometimes the force feedback disappeares completely going from dry to wet conditions and vice versa. Something that I've experienced a lot on this game is, that I get force feedback on my Controller when other cars collide with each other.. I've been watching your videos for 5 years now, keep up the great work JD 👍
I previously thought you were over critical of F122. I finally took the plunge into ACC and have been enjoying the game immensely for the last month. I had the itch to play F1 w/ DTS and the new season starting up, so I popped it in yesterday....man was I disappointed. You literally can't feel anything. The FFB is so numb and the grip is so unpredictable. I've been on F1 games exclusively since 2011 and hate to admit that if we get more of the same this year, I may be moving on from my favorite franchise.
Been playing f1 since 2014 and own every game, I also own all sims - ac, acc ams2 etc while still playing f1. I joined iracing when you did and can't play f1 anymore! F3 in iracing is my go to open wheel racing now! Far superior IMHO Each to their own though

We can play F1 22 with a high-end steering wheel which provides nice feeling about everything happening on the car but we have this game that literally you won't feel almost anything no matter which wheel you're using... This must stop on F1 23, this is like take a step backwards. Keep in mind that this game was released in 2022, not in 2001.
Inconsistent would be the word - I’m multiple seasons into the my team mode and I’m still getting the exact same input bugs. It’s almost as if the devs only design the game with esports and for people with mega expensive sim setups in mind. It’s such a shame because 90% of the time the game works fine but whenever there’s glitches or input problems with the brakes, throttle, mfd, whatever else it kills the incentive to improve
recently got into iracing bc of your videos and I just cant do F122 anymore. I never noticed how unresponsive the feedback was until playing a real sim

Started trying to create content when I really got into F1 2021. Was stoked about this game. That lasted for maybe two weeks until they changed the handling and I realized the amount of bugs. It's sad because I enjoyed making League Race-type of videos, but I made the move to iRacing and I can't regret that. It actually feels like driving real cars now.
the handling in the first 2 weeks was awesome. Then they changed it. I remember race starts actually required calculation. Now they're mindless and people who run no traction control always get much worse starts than medium traction runners despite taking more care to have a good start..
Last F1 game for me. I quit. The driving model is fine for me, just losing the rear end out of nowhere without any feeling from the force feedback is just sooooo frustrating. When I drive ACC it just feels fantastic (I know it's not open wheel but yeah still so much more fun).
I am also done with the F1 franchise for now. The only thing i am frustrated about my boycott of F122 is, that there is no other game or sim atm with reasonable safety car and every other racing game has only few tracks that i love so much from the F1 calendar. Qualy only in 1 session, no real yellow flags and so on. There are racing games with open wheeler to choose, but no F1 rules. Yes, Automobilista 2 and iRacing, maybe a modded Assetto can do much here, e.g. with the Ultimate Gen 2 Series in AMS2, but unfortunately it is no replacement for F122. It's truely sad whats happening here.

Ive been playing frequently still. Bc I race for my eSports team in team events and I still league race in different leagues. The game is the most frustrating game ive ever played. I haven't been able to play cross play once. However I love TT just competing against myself. The game is quite amazing. Go back 5 years and you would love this game.
I’ve been playing since F1 2021 and I was having so much fun playing it. It was the only game I played but now I find it getting a bit bland and boring. I started playing Gran Turismo 7 and I have so much more fun. So much more stuff to do as well. I hope for F1 23 they change the game to make it more fun, add a story like f1 21 but longer and maybe add a livery editor where you can make your own livery not just edit colours
I hadn't played race sims for about 15 years. Got new gear and f22. Couldn't get into it. Picked up ACC a couple of months later and it's night and day. More fun to race and force feedback way better.
After starting ACC recently, I started to realize the physics of simcade games, F122 is especially bad when compared to WRC generations and GT7, the handling model is a lot more RNG meaning the physics feel more inconsistent and its also really hard to tell when the back end steps out or when you lock up. Even in GT7, a game I spend the majority of my time playing, it's much easier to tell what the car is doing.
i have to keep changing my steering saturation as sometimes on 0 it matches my irl wheel movement (which i want), and sometimes it has suddenly got way less sensitive mid race. then i change it back to 50 saturation, then its too sensitive. it keeps changing in open lobbies and it frustrates me so much
Thing is: F1 official game is walking backwards year-by-year. It's not progressing, instead, it's regressing. As EA's bought Codemasters, quite frankly, I deeply hope it invests a lot in this game (as it is the F1's official game), either in graphs/controls/feedback or in the experience/immersiveness
Unfortunately, if you take a look at any of the other EA Sports franchises, you'll see the same complaints. They won't invest a lot in the game. They already invested a lot in the license and because they have that, they don't need to invest in the game. People will buy it anyway.

The main issue is EA owning this. They completely neglected FIFA and Madden and gone for micro transaction content. F1 games will follow a similar path unfortunately. F1 needs to give its licence to multiple developers and give gamers choice in F1. EA have made this impossible now.
EA doesn't make the games, all they do is publish them. 100% of the blame is still on Codies, stop giving them a free pass just because the "big bad" bought them
Since I started iracing I haven't touched F122, it's definitely fun having all the official drivers/tracks/cars, but it's just nowhere near as engaging when you're in the car.
I take the game for what it is. My love for the pinnacle of racing makes me not judge the performance too Much. I played Forza 6 (2016?) and the driving even on that is better than F1 22
Spot on there Jd my sum up for21 it has been AWFUL sorry but it has been such a shame to see triple a game such as this be so bad after every single patch they bring out it creates one problem after another am still doing league races and join you when i can but the handling and contact model now feels 🤮Like you no matter what setup you use now and your having a good run then the car can just randomly spin out towards the end even on no assists so frustrating and then online connection is awful too and ive even had the bug where i was in race behind the sc getting ready to restart but it still gives me speeding drive through pen even though i was -4 seconds under delta so bugs like that needs to be fixed for 23 so think this will be win or bust for codies given how there track record is
this game reminds me a little bit of f1 2012 2013 2014 era, same game Suttle changes then a massive car development change, but it still the same game as last yr etc, f1 22 in one word meh, it needs a more semi realistic handing and feedback model, graphics are pretty spot on, classic cars and tracks, and a stable online. Just the basic and the game will be amazing like 2016 up to 2020.

I don't feel f1 2020 has better FF than 22, F1 22 is far superior overall with one crucial exception; the moment the car is about to break loose. F1 2020 handles this better. But aside from that, I can "feel" the car so much better in 22.
Then i think most of the players are bored because the game is Always the same and they have been playing for a lot of years, new players that started 1 or 2 years ago still have a lot of fun While its the opposite, for example i see people bored of f1 and playing gt7 but i also see the opposite for example When you play for 5-10 years the same game its normal, and its very difficult to introduce something that changes completely the game
I have stopped playing F1 and I will not go back. The F1 game has gone backwards (the past few years) at the same time that the racing sims have gotten so much better. Driving on iRacing, RF2, AC, ACC and Raceroom is just soooooo much more fun than F1 that it makes no sense to go back. I get why YOU go back with your long history with the game but for me it makes no sense.... no more F1 game for me. But for all those who love the F1 game I really hope that they fix this. And I really like watching races on the game... just not driving it
I haven't touched it for 3 months until this weekend, gave it another shot in carreer. I guess the f1 hype got me again. It is frustrating, but there is no better complete f1 focused game, except assetto corsa, but you need lot's and lot's of mods
I’m stopped playing . The game sucks! I hate the handling model . I feel like I have to conserve or drive flat out and be very careful with peddle at all times no middle ground . Cars have no sweats spot . And yeah no connection to car and forcefeedback. Im playing GT7 on ps4.

As someone with a lower FFB wheel, the low FFB wheel FFB model feels unfinished.

Spot on there Jd my sum up for21 it has been AWFUL sorry but it has been such a shame to see triple a game such as this be so bad after every single patch they bring out it creates one problem after another am still doing league races and join you when i can but the handling and contact model now feels 🤮Like you no matter what setup you use now and your having a good run then the car can just randomly spin out towards the end even on no assists so frustrating and then online connection is awful too and ive even had the bug where i was in race behind the sc getting ready to restart but it still gives me speeding drive through pen even though i was -4 seconds under delta so bugs like that needs to be fixed for 23 so think this will be win or bust for codies given how there track record is

this game reminds me a little bit of f1 2012 2013 2014 era, same game Suttle changes then a massive car development change, but it still the same game as last yr etc, f1 22 in one word meh, it needs a more semi realistic handing and feedback model, graphics are pretty spot on, classic cars and tracks, and a stable online.
Just the basic and the game will be amazing like 2016 up to 2020.

Fuck this game i played f1 2021 last week it was amazing after 5 months not gaming bit the f1 22 is it not worth anymore for started up looking out for f1 23 hopes that it gets better peace ✌🏽
I don't feel f1 2020 has better FF than 22, F1 22 is far superior overall with one crucial exception; the moment the car is about to break loose. F1 2020 handles this better. But aside from that, I can "feel" the car so much better in 22.
Then i think most of the players are bored because the game is Always the same and they have been playing for a lot of years, new players that started 1 or 2 years ago still have a lot of fun
While its the opposite, for example i see people bored of f1 and playing gt7 but i also see the opposite for example
When you play for 5-10 years the same game its normal, and its very difficult to introduce something that changes completely the game
I have stopped playing F1 and I will not go back. The F1 game has gone backwards (the past few years) at the same time that the racing sims have gotten so much better. Driving on iRacing, RF2, AC, ACC and Raceroom is just soooooo much more fun than F1 that it makes no sense to go back. I get why YOU go back with your long history with the game but for me it makes no sense.... no more F1 game for me. But for all those who love the F1 game I really hope that they fix this. And I really like watching races on the game... just not driving it

I haven't touched it for 3 months until this weekend, gave it another shot in carreer. I guess the f1 hype got me again. It is frustrating, but there is no better complete f1 focused game, except assetto corsa, but you need lot's and lot's of mods

I’m stopped playing . The game sucks! I hate the handling model . I feel like I have to conserve or drive flat out and be very careful with peddle at all times no middle ground . Cars have no sweats spot . And yeah no connection to car and forcefeedback. Im playing GT7 on ps4.
