Pace is always great but I have always found that when I am driving smartly then my pace naturally falls into place for me. Drive smarter not harder is always my approach.
I personally would make the following changes to balance the game a little bit better:
1. improve the benefit of the slipstream a little bit
2. improve DRS by a good amount (irl its very powerful)
3. improve ERS recovering just a little bit
4. nerf ERS power significantly
5. make tyre wear more relevant in terms of lap time (I got the feeling it’s not that bad for your lap time to drive with worn tyres)

Yeah I pretty much fully agree with this
Only issue is maybe the tyre wear one. They can’t really just punish someone for being faster than someone else, even if they’re being lighter on the tyres and smoother. I’m sure there’s a way they could fix it though, but simply lap time related wouldn’t work. Rest are spot on though
Increase the effect of front wing damage. In F1 2022 having front wing damage is barely noticeable in my opinion. Only if you completely loose it you feel a little difference but other than that it pretty much doesn’t matter when it actually should.

I'm actually happy that DRS less is powerful , cause in the last game at some circuits even if you were quicker , you were defenceless agains the car behind with DRS. The faster driver has to be able to stay ahead and not get hurt cause the car behind despite being slower could save his ERS better and attack. Last game made it a bit unfair in a way. and traction is more realistic in this game.
My problem isn't that DRS isn't strong....My problem is that the AI cars DRS is more power
But DRS is powerful in real life...and this game is meant to simulate the real life racing. It needs to be improved
@@darklord2381 but in real life the dirty air is also way more powerful , if you want good racing you need have a good balance between the dirty air , slipstream and DRS. In the last game the dirty air almost nothing but slipstream and DRS were more powerful than this game. As a result you had 20 car DRS train and noone could drop the car behind , even couldn't stay ahead , such was the power of DRS.
@@darklord2381 DRS was nerfed inherently with the new aero regs. That and slipstream is basically nonexistent IRL rn. That’s why you don’t see drivers going for a tow too often this season.

My guess is codemasters made the DRS less powerful to avoid DRS trains. League races / eSports you’re just stuck in them regardless of the battery you use. Now if P5 in it uses his battery it’s gonna be a chain reaction and create better racing
Well, if they want to be realistic the DRS needs to be giving you around 0.4 to 0.5 seconds on a long straight as it does in real life... at this moment it seems to be giving you 0.2 at best... so maybe balance it somewhere in the middle? Maybe at 0.3 or 0.35... to be fair it can't be useless in the game... it does need to change... also they need to seriously lower the power of the ERS... you barely ever hear about it in the F1 broadcasts and yet in the game it's easily the most important thing in the game...

You are able to brake so much deeper than I can and that's on 3 different pedals. Still dialing in my load cells but I just struggle with feel vs IRL. I may never get past it on Sims

Been league racing for years I'm rubbish at dialing it back not pushing at 100 and usually either kill my tires or end the race upside down in a hedge somewhere lol

yeah. i think the drs could more powerful for better overtakes and fights. specially on tracks, where the straight is not so long like hungaroring or in zandvoort.

Great videos! I was wondering why do you upshift 1 gear mid corner and take off in the lower gear? Does that have to do with the braking and wheelspin when applying throttle? Thanks!
Helps with rotation
I get it that you want to save battery but in a lot of situations you're braking hard and already have 100% so you're basically wasting energy that you could have used earlier. On a hard braking zone you can get like 5% of energy back, so you can use a bit more to make sure you're not wasting it like that
You never know when you need the extra battery. I try to win as efficiently as I can with extra ammo in reserve if I need it!
Drs should be buffed for medium and up races, but in shorter races, low powered drs allows people to catch up to the next group of cars.

I prefer when you actually want to be first, we saw weird situations like COTA in F1 esport last year when Longuet tried to brake to get DRS. Track position now actually means something

What camera view adjustments do you make to get this angle?
ERS is way to hard to harvest. Only 3-4% per corner. Maybe if thats fixed and it can be easier to overtake.

I play with a controller and I found this game ultra difficult with the traction, I had to set the assist to full, almost impossible to control on low speed corners. On the previous version ( 2021 ) I was able to turn it off and have no issues whatsoever

For controller change the rear camber to -1 and lower the on throttle diff. Plus be gentle when hitting the gasspedal. This helps for me. Plus short shift ofcourse
I don't get how everyone is struggling with traction. Its all about feeding the power with finesse with the triggers. Maybe look into the throttle linearity settings if you guys are still having issues
I personally really like the DRS being weak, I think it promotes more skilful and rewarding races by optimal maintenance of ERS
Naturally because the 2022 cars produce less dirty air, they should also produce less slipstream for the car behind, so I wouldn't be surprised if the slipstream was weaker. However, i think irl slipstream is a bit more powerful than in F1 22

why do you use wheel rotation 370 instead of 300-310 like most other pro drivers ?
And it seems like Traction control is actually not as powerful as an assist as last year. So a lot of the leaderboards dont have a lot of ppl using Traction control. But ABS is still pretty OP. But id like to see the assists not as quick as NO assists. Like no traction control users should be top of the leaderboards.
I think they should try and balance DRS for each track individually

Is it possible to master not using anti-lock brakes on a controller? It's the ONLY Assist I can't seem to turn off, and I'm starting to feel hopeless. Especially with the new game being so much more touchy in terms of traction and losing control of the car.
You can slam on the brakes as long as you have enough speed but be gentle with them in any other situation
What would anti lock brakes being turned off help with controller tho? I always figured it was more useful for wheels

what i notice is that the cars in real life already have slipstream on 1.5/2 s, this is not the case in the game either
I play on ps4 and ive seen Schumacher_1 at the Top of the leaderboards on 2021 and now on 22. So yeah hes very quick.

I started a MyTeam as a Midfield Challenger. I was racing against Red Bull & Ferrari cars and even with DRS + slipstream + ERS, I was much slower than them despite the fact that they did not have DRS... So yeah, definitely useless

Isn't that the whole idea in this years F1 that cars can run closer because there is far less dirty air, as all the downforce is from ground effect. Why would the game be any different?
