That's the first time I heard an explanation of what Ferrari did to the fuel flow rate. I didn't know it had been figured out. It was sure kept quiet on Sky commentary!
The real sham of it was the penalty and disclosure process was a complete joke. The FIA and Ferrari came to a sealed agreement? WTF is that, how can we take the FIA seriously after that mess?
@@anubiam3004 Fia knew they were doing something, had no proof, couldn't find anything. They were forced to make a deal with Ferrari, you tell us, we don't punish you as hard. Even all that Ferrari was doing wasn't straight illegal, it was a grey area
My favourite cheat was the 81 Brabham. F1 had introduced a minimum height check. Gordon Murray reasoned that this could only happen in the pits so he developed a suspension system that crushed down under aero load and stayed compressed until a slow down lap returning the car to the legal height. Then he stuck a box (maybe a flask) with wires coming out. All the teams wondered how he was getting pace and what the box was all about. A “cheat” and a distraction.
yes i was thinking about this one. there was a pinhole air bleed returning the car to proper height. my favorite though was the brabham fan car (iirc) where they lifted a corner with a foot during testing so the downforce wasn't apparent

I knew about the Ferrari being able to bypass the sensor, but I didn't know the details. So, they programmed the fuel pump to know when the sensor wasn't looking (and it looked a lot - 2,200 times per second) and then ensured the engine could take a 'gulp' as you put it, at that precise moment! GENIUS! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
best part about that system is also u can do in reverse. So at full throtle you are using more that allowed. But at part throttle less than allowed. WIN WIN perfect system.

Based on the 2021 season, today he'd be voted "driver of the day" for that stunt. It seems the new fans appreciate pushing (beyond) the limits of what's fair more than race craft itself.
It is forbidden, written down in rules quite clearly, but you want your Crashstappen to be able to fuck all rules about tracklimits, safetycars, flags and what have you, and this one as well?
Exactly 😂 Mercedes front wing remained stable after Lewis crashing into Max at Saudi Arabia . It's rear wing got "damaged" by a mere touch from Max 🤣🤣 . This guy will never include Mercedes' DRS infringement in this video , he is a Hamilton fanatic .
Mercedes found a miraculous 2019 Ferrari speed in the last 4 races of 2021, when engine development was banned for the entire year. Pulling away from RB at will wasn't from aero work. The way Lewis came back on Max on the last lap, on old tires, after being passed, showed incredible power disparity between the two. One of those two was working in the gray area and it wasn't Honda.
@@keelanrose5706 Hamilton was dominating that race and had it in the bag until Latifi kissed the wall. The speed he had was not a product of a tow. He was alone, pulling away from the rest, the entire race.
They exploited what I consider to be a loophole: They used new engine components for the last few races which allowed them to turn up the engine to a more powerful setting, but it would not last many races like that. They took an engine penalty for using the extra components. It was all within the rules. If you think the penalty was too lenient & the rules for new engine components need to be harsher, then I agree with you.
Crashing to gain or give advantage from the safety car is just disgraceful, but beating the control equipment with engineering is always very impressive. And "smuggling" your car onto the track is just incredible.

Yeah, unless it directly affects someone else, (like crashing on purpose, wrecking other cars, etc) bending the rules and finding ways to outsmart your competitors has always been one of the most interesting things about Motorsport imo. Edit: my favorite example of this is the NASCAR driver from the 70s who got around fuel tank size restrictions by having an 8 inch wide fuel hose
I am not buying the fact that Mercedes were this quick all these years without breaking any rules. They probably were just smart enough to not get caught.
@ur couzin As much as I love Mercedes. I have a feeling they've done some illegal tweaking, too. Their performance difference (Yes Valtteri's too, proving it's not just Lewis that started driving better) over the rest of the teams rose above the 1%, while Redbull's sank to 0.4% due to wear and tear. Mercedes were still faster as a whole the rest of the season but only edging out Redbull by a very small margin. Brazil's new engine was when that jump to >1% happened. I'm taking these numbers from ChainBear I think... Not sure. Don't remember where I saw it.

Great video! This is why I love F1 and motor racing in general, cheating isn't frowned on, in fact it's admired...until you get caught, and then you find another way to cheat.
people speak with great admiration of the legendary NASCAR cheats. iirc there was a restrictor bypass that only operated when you tightened the air filter bolts. remove the filter, and nothing to see here!
Thats just incredible that someone figured out u could take advantage of those gaps in the fuel flow sensors polling rate. I cant even begin to imagine the complexity involved in pulsing extra fuel at the correct timing to beat it. Just fantastic
Well, to be fair, toluene was the go-to fuel of the F1-cars in the 1980's. I mean literally everyone with a turbo used it, 86% toluene and 14% filler to lower octane rating to FIA requirements. So it was just FIA approved fuel without the filler. And the toxicity? Yes it it harmfull and poisonous, also causes sensation of 'high' when sniffed from glues or paint thinners... If get my meaning. The fact that it COULD be used as a rocket fuel, does not make it ONLY a rocket fuel. Or, did you know that women blond their hairs using 3% mix of currently used rocket fuel? It's toxic, irritant, corrosive and still in wide use today.
Deliberate crashes and car breakdowns probably happen far more often in F1 than anyone wants to admit, and it's usually impossible to prove. Nelson just broke the cardinal rule of ratting out the team because he got dumped. After crashgate both Pat Symonds and Flavio Briatore had their bans over turned and now work for Formula 1 and/or the FIA Meanwhile Nelson Piquet Jr because persona non-grata in the paddock That kinda tells you all you need to know...
I'm surprised to see the Benetton fuel rig issue in here. FIA (through one of it's officials) approved the removal of the filter , even giving instructions on how it should be removed. The particle that caused the fuel rig to jamb was much smaller that what would have been screened by the relatively coarse mesh in question. If I recall correctly other teams asked for and were given permission to remove this filter as well though I don't recall if they ended up removing it for the race. To me it seems that the FIA was looking for a scapegoat and the filter removal was an easy target when in reality it was likely unrelated.

Schumacher had some dodgy incidents, definitely. Jerez in ‘97, the Monoco car park situation, but the ‘94 situations are definitely presented with a British perspective. Scott fails to mention here that the evidence showed that Benetton did not use traction control and thus they were not punished. Other teams that had traction control had the same software as the year before but the tc was not able to be used.Michael just out drove Hill in the superior Williams even with the significant horsepower deficit the Ford Z-tec-R V8 had to the incredible Renault V10. And the fuel filler incident was a modification approved by the manufacturer and that other teams were doing the same thing. I’m a little tired of people suggesting that Michael won in ‘94 by cheating when this year shows just how good Michael was at his best. Definitely a season worth watching again, even with the terrible events of the San Marino GP.
Ferrari got off so lucky with their 2019 exploits. what they did is akin to what Toyota did with the restrictor plate in WRC in the 90s. and the fact that they possibly developed the 2014 engines with this trick in mind means they were in jeopardy of loosing all previous race results from when that was implemented, thats such a gamble. but also its amazing how such a 'basic' exploit haddent been thought of much sooner, older fuel slow sensors must have had a far lower refresh rate.
I'm still angry about this! The shenanigans they were up to should have been made public as well as the agreement they made. I'm tired of those red cars getting so much special treatment. I know they have been in F1 longer and all that, but they are just another constructor and don't deserve the special treatment they get....in my opinion.
@@Wildturkey10121 Its more complicated, after the tecnical regulations were issue at the 2019 US GP, Ferrari lost most of its edge, in Spa and Monza it was just ridiculous how fast they were. FIA actually had a problem, if Red Bull waited for a race and issued a complain, Ferrari car would be impounded, and an investigation would happen, but because Ferrari backed out after the directives, there was no way FIA could prove wrong doing, and saying you were faster was not enough, the only way to prove it was if Ferrari told them, and that is what happened, the deal was made secret to protect their brand, but also the FIA, because it is rumoured that there were penalties, that were the culprits of Ferrari awful 2020 season. Also the FIA got help from Ferrari in policing these engines in the future, the FIA needs the teams because Unfortunately these engines are far too complex, and the regulator cant just guess, they don't have the facilities teams have.
Ferrari are never punished/lightly punished. If it was mclaren doing the same thing or red bull or Mercedes’ there would be more serious consequences as we saw in 07.
I didn't know the Verstappen incident was caused by removing the filter. But the Ferrari fuel flow and intercooler cheat was genius! I genuinely don't mind a bit of creative cheating in F1. For me nothing beats watching your opponent spill lead shot all over the ground which just came from the vehicle... BUSTED! You can't get much closer than actually spilling the beans!
i remember another one: around 2000? the lights on the race start always went out in a pattern (like always 5.4 secs or so) so some teams figured it out and the driver got a beep in the ear 100ms before the lights went out. fia found out but didnt tell anyone, on one gp they simply went longer before the lights go out and some drivers who used the system jumped the start. caught. lol
He didn't mention it because it was a part of the previous video and it was actually BULLSHIT (and he finally recognized that): 1) The start of the 1999 European was aborted because Zanardi and a Minardi stopped at the wrong place on the starting grid. 2) even if this stupid theory of "cheating" was true, then why did none of those teams (those who jumped the start) get any kind of investigation or penalty during/after the race?
@@marcomolinari94 1) he covered some that were mentioned before 2) idk if its true or not and i didnt watch the race so no idea what exactly happened with penalties and so on. i didnt bother checking it either tbh
The rest of the team at McLaren did know what was going on in 2007. They even testified for immunity. I don't know why Brits keep wanting to downplay that all of 2007 and 2008 McLaren cheated.
I'm not sure the Ferrari engine fuel sensor should be classed as a cheat. It may not have complied with the spirit of the regs, but it did on paper comply with the fia's then ability to measure it. The documentary, gentleman lift your skirts, from the early 80's explained the situation really well just after sliding skirts and minimum ground clearance rules were introduced. The other half of what's allowed by the rules, is what can be measured, static measurements often don't match up with dynamic loadings, they only indicate what could happen. As an engineer I love interpreting the rules and playing with the properties of what can or can't be measured.
The rules mandated that the fuel flow couldn’t exceed a certain rate at any time. Ferrari were able to exceed this rate without it being detected by the FIA. While the FIA couldn’t detect it, having higher fuel flow was forbidden so it was illegal.
@@thegregdavieschannel The rules said that fuel flow could not excede a certain rate which it did though was not detected. It's like saying it's legal for someone to drive their car at whatever speed they like, as long as they don't get caught by a speed camera. It's still illegal. Exceding the fuel flow limit was explicitely forbidden meaning the solution was illegal but they evaded the law so to speak. It's the engineering equivalent of organised crime. They knew what they were doing was illegal but they made sure they did it when the law wasn't looking. It was smart, but still illegal.
This isn't exactly cheating but one of my favorite Rosberg stories is when Schumacher locked himself in the bathroom, forcing Nico to pee in a pot of oil, which ended up psychologically throwing Nico off during his qualifying lap.
Cool vid! Bunch of stuff I either didn't know or had forgotten how big of a deal it was when it happened. In all fairness, if the engineers are looking for the gray area they aren't doing their job. The one thing I can't stand in F1 is the chaos of quali~ it's such bull. It's not a football game with teammates it's life and death seriousness. Maybe when someone is killed they will review the design and it's flaws.
"The most genius cheats that you've probably never heard of" I think most of us are at least vaguely familiar with all of them! Still, a nice compilation!
At one time Brabham had a strategy for qualifying in which, after they set the fastest time they would fake an oil leak, purposefully dropping oil on track so that nobody could go faster.
Some pretty good ones on here. Should really check out cheating in NASCAR, especially in the early days, they used the lead shot trick, hidden nitrous and a whole host of really creative things.
Whoa whoa whoa, I was enjoying this video right up until I got up to the point about Benetton, I in fact just finished reading the Steve Matchett book about the 1994 season while he was a mechanic with the team and in fact Betnetton was cleared of not having cheated, another team had also removed that exact same filter.
One of the old computer hacks used to be to program a hot map into the system which would delete and revert back to compliant once the power was shut off. Live telemetry made that obsolete.
Looking back on history of cheating is somehow interestig. But I think if you could tell us the cases of cleverly beating loophole legally (in another video) would be greater.
In racing of you aint cheating you aint trying. NASCAR is exactly the same way. This is how teams like Mercedes won 7 straight titles. They skirted around the rules.
8:22 it was later demonstrated that the traces of the fuel were so low it literally didn’t matter even if they were to somehow use the fuel. Which they couldn’t anyway.
It will be interesting to revisit the present yet currently unknown cheats in the future if there are any. Just imagine if in a couple of years an ex RedBull engineer leaks information on some obscure and clever cheat they used on the 22-25 era or something. (It's just an example for entertainment purposes only, I'm not accusing or hating [even if I'm not a big RB fan either]).
"Fernando is faster than you, confirm that you understood that message" "Good lad, keep going" was the literal moment everything within me hates team orders to an UNreasonable amount. There is nothing "Teamly" about asking a professional Athlete to compromise his performance on purpose. Things like Bottas letting Ham through in Brazil would also have happened without an team order. That's team work, Bottas didn't even though about holding him up. But randomly asking someone to compromise his race is insanely disrespectful and should be outlawed. I know the reasoning for allowing it was "We can't detect every method teams try to circumvent the rule, so we allow it". But I personally think even when you only catch 1 of 10 people, they need to be punished. Multi21 was a huge dckmove by Sebastian. I had also nothing screaming "Teamwork" about it. But I love that he didn't care about the Order. He knew he was the faster guy, so he got himself that win. I'll still wait for the answer "When X is faster than me. He should have no problem overtaking me."
Multi 21, what people forget is the fact Webber had previously ignored team orders at the British Grand Prix because (in his words) he wanted to win. As for "well your faster than me, so you'll overtake me easily" the problem is that defending can cost more time than letting someone go. Case example was Bernoldi and Coulthard at Monaco. When Coulthard pulled up to the back of the Arrows, Bernoldi was literally right behind teammate Verstappen. After 40 laps or so of solid defence, he'd managed to lose an ENTIRE LAP to his teammate. Had he simply moved out of the way, he wouldn't have lost nearly as much time. Basically you pick and chose your battles, and sometimes letting one go is a better scenario than fighting to the death andf losing overall.
I used to be (for three decades!) a huge F1 fan. In my last years of watching, due to no free-to-air F1, I used to get up at 1am, and drive into a local casino to catch the race. But when Mark Webber left F1, so did I. I got tired of the stupid rulings, the stupid team orders, the intentional cheating, and the lack of free coverage. The only thing which kept me on for a while was the Live Timing. F1 now holds absolutely no appeal at all to me.
It is absolutely a sham how being caught with photocopies of Ferrari designs = a 100 million dollar fine and DQ from the championship, despite not actually using those designs, meanwhile Ferrari cheated for 2 years to get way more power than anybody, and nothing was done about it.
For me Mercedes’ rear diffuser stall in 2021 is sort of cheating because they are achieving some sort of active aero effect, but because it involves suspension components rather than aero components, strictly speaking it isn’t breaking the rules. I expect it to be outlawed going into next season.
Then you’re not that bright to think it’ll be outlawed or that it’s illegal… It’s not a moveable aero device, teams have stalled elements on their cars for years, and the exact same happens to high rake cars; their rears drop as they gain speed, but due to their inherent rake, they just flatten as they get up to speed
Every car does it. Mercedes have just managed to make it noticeable. You can't just call it cheating because it's more obvious on a Mercedes, you have to prove that they're doing something wrong to get it like that.
@@jordanclark4635 yeah but the component isn’t acting naturally clearly. It’s moving in a way to give an aero advantage. Everything exposed on the outside of a car has an aero affect. It’s actually quite brilliant engineering. I don’t think it will be banned tho. Like you said the main purpose of it is suspension.
I think the power unit is more sketchy. Gaining like half a second or more in pace towards the end of the season is abnormal. I don’t buy the “it’s a new power unit it has more power”
Almost good but, you totally forgot Mercedes AMG's tricks: a., Burning oil was first used in Mercedes engines, then may everybody remember well b., the DAS which found illegal, however they would able to use it all the 2020 season and helped Lewis to equalise 7 WDC with Michael Schumacher ... And who knows other illegal tricks was used or not? Lewis crossed the pit lane's white lines twice in Germany and never got a punishment, also he used to slow down the field more than 10 cars long distance in 2021 before every re-start to let cool down his opponents brakes at the front row on the grid Also two more cheats: +1: Brabham Alfa Romeo in Swedish GP with the huge fan atthe back of the car +2: Honda with the two fuel chambers, managing the fuel between to the opposite sides of the corners
Engineer here. Intercooler burning is possible; however, using a mechanical pump to over-boost at 2200Hz precisely is mechanical-engineeringly impossible. It’s gonna step on mines rather quickly!!!
so... it was magic or did merc cheated for gaining almost 1 second from mexico race to brazil gp? how many times we`ve seen something like this happening from 1 race to another?
Neither. They threw a bunch of engines at Bottas testing how they would last when they turned the power up (legal), then turned the power of Hamilton from 'quick' to 'rocketship' in hopes to secure the championship.
I dunno, the little remarks and personal comments in between felt quite forced and kinda un-driver61-like to me. Still a great video and a happy new year to you and your entire crew!
Benettons fire is a real reason there isn't any refueling in F1 and it was because of cheating. They should bring it back. It's no longer the mid 90s, I'm sure they could make it safe. Hell, they do it in Indy car!
To Ferrari in 2019: Mika Salo once said in 2021, that Ferrari in 2020 wasn't allowed to use as much fuel as anyone else, but less. That's why the ICE was so poor.
Props to the photocopier for his integrity, he could have looked the other way, he could have bilked McLaren for more money "I know what this shady stuff is I want compensation for any risks" (totally not blackmail), he could have tried to sell it the press for juicy scandal exclusive reports but no he just showed a lot of integrity and honesty instead.
@@ukps9632 no it's what someone who knows anything remotely accurate about F1 would say. It's only random no name social media accounts like you saying the Merc car was illegal at this point. @@ia303 it was straightline speed in Brazil, not talent. Do you remember why party mode was banned? Obviously having the best car that weekend helped Lewis, but ask yourself this. If Valtteri was given a cumulative 25 place grid penalty, do you really think he would be P1 in the race with, like, 10 laps to spare? I'm sorry there's no way he'd pull that off. That's the Lewis Hamilton effect, and only drivers like him and Max can do things like that.
Ferrari's way of passing more fuel is genius and it should not have been banned it they innovated a way to pass more fuel when sensor wasn't looking FiA should have made their sensors look more accurately than to ban the the technique all together So many of the great things like the Williams CVT and the air suspension was banned which could have improved the sport a lot or the road cars
I heard the story of stencils being used to identify the tyres for qualifying back in the '70's - they used the stencils for a while and one team created their own set so they could have an extra set of tyres for qualification. To be fair, i don't think it mention that this wasn't allowed in the rules.
I'm baffled by these, were the people watching the timing boards not suspecting something when they saw Brambilla's time was set long before he crossed the finish line? Were there no spectators/stewards to notice that Schell cut a damn third of the track? Or that he suspiciously slowed down on the finish line? I understand that they didn't have PE sensors or other stuff, but how did nobody notice these extremely obvious cheats lol

Great stories! The last Ferrari one still blows me away that the engineers could come up with something like that to work so consistently.
On the last lap Hamilton had a tow and a new engine. Over time the engine gets slower, as friction gets more and more.

They (literally) put rocket fuel on the race track. I seriously am happy how far F1 safety has come and how strict the rules are...

If I recall correctly other teams asked for and were given permission to remove this filter as well though I don't recall if they ended up removing it for the race. To be fair. That’s why F1 engineers are some of the best in the world. That Ferrari cheat was genius.
Not really, they got caught.... clever though.
Politics are just more important nowadays. One step below wokeness.

@@gibospartan6185 the ambiguity is being legal within the meaning of the rules and being legal with their ability to measure legality.

"Fernando is faster than you, confirm that you understood that message"
"Good lad, keep going"
was the literal moment everything within me hates team orders to an UNreasonable amount.
Speaking of cheats, what do you think of the cheat done by the Toyota Team in WRC 1995? I believe it's still the most ingenious cheat in WRC ever.
I think some people don't know of that "disposable" turbo restricter they pulled out, or the Ford's surge tank lol

Why ya here then talking about it?
It is absolutely a sham how being caught with photocopies of Ferrari designs = a 100 million dollar fine and DQ from the championship, despite not actually using those designs, meanwhile Ferrari cheated for 2 years to get way more power than anybody, and nothing was done about it.
For me Mercedes’ rear diffuser stall in 2021 is sort of cheating because they are achieving some sort of active aero effect, but because it involves suspension components rather than aero components, strictly speaking it isn’t breaking the rules. I expect it to be outlawed going into next season.
Then you’re not that bright to think it’ll be outlawed or that it’s illegal…
It’s not a moveable aero device, teams have stalled elements on their cars for years, and the exact same happens to high rake cars; their rears drop as they gain speed, but due to their inherent rake, they just flatten as they get up to speed
Let me guess Max fan right? Especially as the other person has shown how it wouldn't be illegal under the rules
McLearn stealing tech data from Ferrari using internal spies was pretty incredible
Almost good but, you totally forgot Mercedes AMG's tricks:
a., Burning oil was first used in Mercedes engines, then may everybody remember well
b., the DAS which found illegal, however they would able to use it all the 2020 season and helped Lewis to equalise 7 WDC with Michael Schumacher ...
And who knows other illegal tricks was used or not? Lewis crossed the pit lane's white lines twice in Germany and never got a punishment, also he used to slow down the field more than 10 cars long distance in 2021 before every re-start to let cool down his opponents brakes at the front row on the grid
Also two more cheats:
+1: Brabham Alfa Romeo in Swedish GP with the huge fan atthe back of the car
+2: Honda with the two fuel chambers, managing the fuel between to the opposite sides of the corners
The DAS wasn't illegal in 2020 so they were allowed to run it; the FIA outlawed it for following seasons, hence no DAS on 2021 Merc
Engineer here. Intercooler burning is possible; however, using a mechanical pump to over-boost at 2200Hz precisely is mechanical-engineeringly impossible. It’s gonna step on mines rather quickly!!!
Over-boost the electric drive signal at 2200Hz is possible. However, the flow meter measures the actually flow, not the drive signal.
Why not just measure the absolute delta start-to-finish? That’ll save a lot of hassles and braincells.
so... it was magic or did merc cheated for gaining almost 1 second from mexico race to brazil gp?
how many times we`ve seen something like this happening from 1 race to another?
Yes, the incident *checks notes* 16 years before refuelling was banned was the reason refuelling was banned and won’t come back…
To Ferrari in 2019: Mika Salo once said in 2021, that Ferrari in 2020 wasn't allowed to use as much fuel as anyone else, but less. That's why the ICE was so poor.
Harry Schell lol my guy doing American way "cut corners" lol cant lie its smart i mean he went the same way just shorter lol love it RIP Schell
“Tracing Point” 🤣🤣🤣 I’d not heard that one…
really bro, thats like one of the most famous nicknames 😂😂
2020 had it plastered everywhere
Happy New Year my man! Thanks for all the content in 2021 :D
What happens when F1 gets caught cheating?
Nothing.
Ferrari was never found cheting for fuel flow. that's your words, not fia's ones
I hope they find out whatever Merc are doing with LH's car
It's called having the best engine and high speed aero package, smoothbrain.
@@ia303 that's what a cheater would say
@@ukps9632 no it's what someone who knows anything remotely accurate about F1 would say. It's only random no name social media accounts like you saying the Merc car was illegal at this point. Ask yourself why that is, and realise it's because you're desperately clinging onto the idea that Lewis is all car and no talent, rather than acknowledging the reality that Lewis, like Max, is a generational talent who can do things most other F1 drivers can only dream of.
@@ia303 it was straightline speed in Brazil, not talent.
Do you remember why party mode was banned? It was because Mercedes were abusing the engine token system by pushing their engine beyond it's limits and then making performance upgrades as "reliability" updates. Then this year we see them abuse the engine penalty system by using extra engines to gain power. They belong in this video as their methods aren't nearly as clever as Ferrari.
@@DavidCP524 ok David, keep telling yourself that.
You've got former F1 drivers acknowledging the fact that Lewis drove an impeccable sprint quali and race, and yet you and your fellow army of haters still stand by the falsehood that it was all car and no talent. Like, what more does Lewis have to do for you guys to acknowledge his talent? Are 7 world championships, 103 wins, 103 poles and all his amazing drives throughout his career not enough?
Obviously having the best car that weekend helped Lewis, but ask yourself this. If Valtteri was given a cumulative 25 place grid penalty, do you really think he would be P1 in the race with, like, 10 laps to spare? I'm sorry there's no way he'd pull that off. That's the Lewis Hamilton effect, and only drivers like him and Max can do things like that.
This is one of the reasons I love formula 1 😂
I love this channel, so nice to be given motorsport info from someone who has raced in Formula cars
F1 team: *Cheats*
F1: *reacts*
F1 team in question: WOAH WOAH WOAH HOLD UP THERE BUDDY, that penalty is kinda excessive isn't it?
Ferrari's way of passing more fuel is genius and it should not have been banned it they innovated a way to pass more fuel when sensor wasn't looking FiA should have made their sensors look more accurately than to ban the the technique all together
So many of the great things like the Williams CVT and the air suspension was banned which could have improved the sport a lot or the road cars
Sorry but no. The rule they had to follow was the rate of fuel delivered. The operation of the sensor is nothing to do with that.
The Ferrari fuel pump has not been confirmed
Good video! I'd love one explaining how Mercedes find 0.5-1.0 sec every end of the season just when they are really needing it.
It was a new engine this year. idk about other years, as I only started watching f1 about after the Monaco p this year.
Silverstone was the first full f1 race I have ever watched.
Being able to utilise engine parts strategically throughout the season is key for a WDC fight
I heard the story of stencils being used to identify the tyres for qualifying back in the '70's - they used the stencils for a while and one team created their own set so they could have an extra set of tyres for qualification. To be fair, i don't think it mention that this wasn't allowed in the rules.
If you're not cheating, you're not winning
You missed the biggest one, McLaren in 2007. Spygate. How could anyone forget that.
it's included
The best way to cheat is to not cheat at all. Know the technical regulations 2 years in advance is not cheating... that's just right inspiration
Schumacher 2006: Pit to 5th and everyone says “great result”
Perez 2023: Pit to 5th and RB is ready to sack him 😂
I'm baffled by these, were the people watching the timing boards not suspecting something when they saw Brambilla's time was set long before he crossed the finish line? Were there no spectators/stewards to notice that Schell cut a damn third of the track? Or that he suspiciously slowed down on the finish line? I understand that they didn't have PE sensors or other stuff, but how did nobody notice these extremely obvious cheats lol
Believe in JESUS today, confess and repent of your sins. No one goes to heaven for doing good but by believing in JESUS who died for our sins. GOD loves you soo much unconditionally.🤩❤🤗😀
Suggestion: make similar video of cheating in the WRC. There are several although perhaps not as many when compared to F1.
Couple cheats: Toyota used the turbo case design so that it draws more air than was allowed giving it 25% more volume to use.
Another team (cannot remember which) made it's rear side windows too thin to save weight. Another team notived this and exposed them.
