- I had the privilege of fly fishing on friends private section of water in southern Colorado in the San Juan mountains. What a fun and arm tiring experience. Come along and enjoy a fun day on the water!
Awesome video! Great action
Yeah that was a fun session! Thanks for watching
Dang Norm. Looks like you were fishing at a Hatchery! 🤣 That's an awesome day! Always fun to watch your vids. Thanks.
Hatchery is a pretty close description of the water. Had a great day playing there lol. Thanks for watching!
Up until recently, I had never heard of the San Juan Cutthroat. I always thought that the fish native to the west side of the San Juan Mountains were the Colorado River Cutthroats. There is an article in Colorado Outdoors that describes the rediscovery of a distinct lineage, first discovered in the San Juan River at Pagosa Springs back in the 19th Century. Having grown up in New Mexico, it would be the ultimate life-goal to see cutthroat reestablished in their native range. The Chuska, Cebolleta, and the area near Dulce are all within the San Juan basin, plus there is the San Juan itself. Imagine a day where you can find three different susbspecies of cutthroats, San Juan, Rio Grande, and Yellowfin (Arkansas River basin) all on a journey along US 64. It is not that there is anything wrong with the way it is, rather, it is important that we leave the watersheds better than we found them, someone in the future will appreciate the effort.
Do you think streamers would have brought bigger fish
Always a possibility.
