Shogo! Did you ever watch 永遠なる武道? (Budo the Art of Killing)
If not, please consider making a reaction video. It's a documentary from the 70th and free on RUclips.
Thank you very much for the Interview Shogo! I'm happy to see Warakiri Sensei is making an overseas channel! looking forward to it already! I'll have to admit the Asayama Ichiden Ryu peaked my interest immediately even though i know there are Hundreds of other established famous Ryuhas available - if i have the chance i'd love train under that Ryuha intensively. Keep these cool contents coming my friend!😄
Thanks for interviewing the legend. I never thought cutting through an entire tatami mat was possible. My jaw hit the floor
I was really surprised about his answer to the question about other ryuha. I would like to learn more about Asayama Ichiden Ryu also.
Warakiri and Team Shogo , Thank all of you for showing us the limits of all things are our imaginations and passion . Love and Respect to all of you !!
So great to interview him! I have followed him for a long time. I wish to study with him

I am glad I found your Channel. Japan and Japanese Culture and history is fascinating. The making of Japanese swords is fascinating to see how it is done.
About 10 years ago I first discovered Japanese ENKA singing.❤️👍🤗 🎵
Mori Masako is my favorite ❤️❤️🎵🎵
Hibari Misora also. ❤️❤️🎵🎵👍🤗
Very interesting interviews. Looking forward to more of your insights into Japanese culture and history-past and present
Fascinating! Thank you so much gentlemen. I truly appreciate learning about all of this.
It's like worlds colliding! Shogo and watakiri talking to eachother is something I've wanted for a while now!
Thank you to both of you for a wonderful interview!
Yes! I love Warakiri Battosai's videos but I don't understand Japanese and auto-translate is terrible. It's great to see him on your show!
Great interview. He had a beautiful sword. Thank you
Hello Shogo, can I request your reaction on Kena: Bridge of Spirits? The story follows Kena, a young spirit guide, travels to an abandoned village in search of the sacred mountain shrine, the game fictional world is inspired by Eastern location such as Japan and Bali
The only thing that is Japanese is a glowing Naginata wield by Warrior, an Ice Katana wield by Shaman Mask Maker and spirituality beliefs of Japan
While for Indonesian is Gamelan music, the spirituality beliefs like in Japan and how Kena speaks while collecting Rots, Kena also voice acted by Dewa Ayu Larassanti which born in Bali too
Finally, Battousai meets Amakusa Shogo
Ah, so interesting! Thank you, Shogo and the team.
From this video on katanas (and many others) from you, I have the impression that it does not matter anymore if your family is from a peasant class or a craftsman class or a merchant class. It seems to me as if anyone in Japan can both own and train with any kind of katana, no matter the class they come from. Is this true?
Many younger Japanese train with these swords and the famous Japanese Long Bow. They have competitions with these.
Growing up in America and visiting Japan on RUclips over the many years, I have learned a great many things about Japan and it’s History.
I don’t understand the language, many of the RUclips channels and videos are in English. One thing I noticed about the Japanese people is they are very emotional in everything they do. From the building of their homes, Cities. Transportation systems,
The arts, singing, their instruments they play, foods they prepare, all is based on emotional pride in what they do.
They haven't had that class system for sometime now. If they did then Japan would probably allow only samurai or people descended from the samurai to own them. People still follow some of the traditions but if you can afford a sword and have the proper paperwork and license you can own a katana in Japan. If you are a foreigner visiting Japan and have the money they will sell you sword AND ship it to your home country provided they legal in your homeland.
Great interview!!!
when a thing is done by a pro it seems so simple
This was amazing, thank you 🙏🏽 😎✊🏽
Thanks for this! It's pretty awesome. I would like to learn more about Asayama Ichiden Ryu too!
Glad to watch your youtube channel I always learn something new, thank you and now I hope to begin my Iaito training here in Miami USA Ps can you do a feature on Japanese Castles in your future videos ? thank you again I will be watching
Awesome material, I love to find me a nice Katana like that. Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic video! I learned so much.
Thank you for your videos.
This guy is living our dream!! Practicing anime techniques with real sword 😅😅
Very informative love from India🇮🇳❤❤❤
Can't believe it finally happened :)))
I'm very interested in his katana with the wide mihaba.
Looks amazing
I was hoping you to do this
Very interesting.
Water-breathing, second form, water wheel! 🌊
really cool
this is nice. cool katana stuff.
Oh the Zoro bit had me rolling
Sasuga sensei! I really like his 95cm blade! My own katana is 100cm blade, I am 179 cm. Works really well.
Shogo, a point that Warakiri Battosai did not address for choosing a cutting blade is the construction of the one he is using @ 14:55, it almost looks like a machette and appears to be a special? What is the blade width and thickness and does it have nikui ?
5:05 Isn't that butterfly the family crest of the Taira, an old warrior clan?
Hey Shogo. Do you know anything about the idea of flowers blooming from corpses? It seems to be a uncommon theme in some Japanese Horror films and games. Just curious
Nice topic
Waste mats bits, what do they do with afterward? Fire kindles?
nice show ;
can you make one about "miko" women I've seen some literature where they are showed like martial artist, or with magical abilities .
so who were they ?
So thats why there's the word Battosai in his name
Question
Sword opened and closed quickly.
What does this mean?
(Seen in various Edo period movies and TV shows)
Seems to be attitude or resolve.
A swear (Swear on our swords)
Example (Genroku Ryoran 1999 Episode 23 10 mins in.) 38th NHK Taiga Drama
I am looking for a connection in Japan for quality nihonto
2 shaku, 5 sun is about 30" or 75cm.
I'm just about Warakiri Sensei's height and that's about the length I picked up, a shinsakuto made by Seki-ju Kanetoki in Showa 52 (1977).
Sword training is more of a discipline and a mindset for tradition. Swords and 7 inch combat knives are a tool much like a hammer, ax, power drill, and a screw driver. Swords and battle knives are an option and the training should always be kept in perspective because nowadays your more likely to be shot with a pistol or rifle.
It's interesting
🗡️👀👍
Yeesss! 👃👋
ORDERED ONE OFF AMAZON just now.. I paid a ritardedly low price for it so if it's an inch or two long when it arrives, so be it xD It will be a funny party joke to open my beer with.. if it's legit, im ready for russia ;-)
real or not, can't wait to try .. just to get the feel of it..
