  • For the roff/stuffing, you’ll need:
    Parsley
    Garlic
    Habanero
    Black pepper
    Salt/jumbo
    For the Benachin/main pot f:
    Fish of choice
    Oil of choice- I used gondola oil. Recommending one cup of oil for every 2.5 cups of rice
    Rice (of choice- I love my jasmine rice
    Tomato paste
    Yate /snail- adding yate snd salt fish makes the senegambia benachin to stand out. They give it that destined taste, hence the one pot wonder for most outside the region
    Salt fish- in this video I used fish sauce instead. I did not have the salt fish
    Garlic
    Onions
    Bay leaves
    Salt
    Jumbo
    Black pepper
    Lemon juice and salt for seasoning the fish
    Tomato paste
    Veggies of choice- cabbage and carrots are usually commonly used
