Great advice this was an awesome video. I was looking for videos like this to make me feel better about not going to college because personally i would like to go to college, but i can't afford it. Well not without going into serious debt, so i think it woud be better for me to not go because i have confidence and dispine and talent and i believe in myself. I believe that not only can i make it as an actor, but as a performer too because that's what i am. i love singing and dancing and acting and perfoming and i believe i can do it on my own because i always find a way, i always find a way to learn. on the other hand my dad would love to put me, or himself i guess, into debt just so I can go to school because....parents. Anyway i don't really know how to ease him into the idea of me not going to college, becuase he dosent care about debt he still has that old mindset that a dipoma is everything. So i'm kinda of thinking of ways to get that college money from him so i can use it for classes and to move closer to the city, idk any advice?

I love this commend Ojonugwa, I agree that It is not worth going into debt to study acting. And I especially wouldn't take money from family. There are many ways that you can start acting right now without having taken a class. Starting with Extra work is a great option so that you can see how the sets work, the language they use, and you can learn from the lead actors and see how they do it. After that, I would Audition for small speaking roles for indie films and local student films. This will get you to practice being directly in front of the camera and speaking. It will also help you start your demo reel. Many of these smaller jobs (Including extra work) pays. I would use that money to pay for classes or training. But borrowing money from parents can make thanksgiving dinner not taste as good.

I have a couple questions... First of all what was one of your favorite memories from acting school? And secondly, what was one of the hardest things about acting school?

My favorite memories are just of all the good times with the friends I made. There was a lot learned as an actor, but the most memorably things are the people that I got to work with. The second hardest thing about going to acting school was having to jump through all the hoops. I feel like 70% of everything that I did in school didn't help me become a better actor.

What kind of guest speakers did you have in your college years. What does such a guest speaker share? Anyone famous?

We had several speakers but honestly I cant remember their names. No one too famous. Lots of broadway people (who I struggle remembering).
