did he ever max out all his commanders? I could never do this in one playthrough (assuming this is the genesis Warsong version) without warping back to previous missions.

You join the Imperial side to unify the nation with force. You fight Light and Dark. Dark - You join the dark side to fight the imperial and light sides. I forgot why Elwin decids for this path. Independent - You fight against all sides (light, dark, imperial) and chose basically to do things your way.
Damn do I love this music! Love this game as well. I have sometimes playing with the cheat to get all weapons right at the start. Go Dragon Slayer sword on Garrett right on Scenario 1! Lol

An updating of the Langrisser series would be pretty cool. Growlanser is fun, but it got way away from the series' roots.
