Nearly my grandmother. 15 years rather than 16. Kinda also tailored my view on it. Past around 25 age is pretty much just a number. Sure different expirences and worldviews but if both are happy and content who gives a damn.

To be honest, the hair one I thought she was a bit of a jerk. Obviously the grandmother doesn’t love her just for the hair but seeing it probably makes her happy and proud that she’s inherited something from her. Something for her to carry on, no matter how small, if this is going to be the last time she sees her granddaughter it’s not going to stop her loving her obviously, but it will upset her terribly. When other people are ill or are going to die, it’s not always just about you. It’s about being part of a family and putting others needs ahead of your own. After the grandmother has passed on, she could always cut her hair then, but she could’ve just put up with it for a few more months, couldn’t she?
