I am an advanced beginner in driving, I say that because before going to driving school and before finishing my roadside driving school, I already finished my 48 lesson pro driver courses, it was expensive but fun, btw I aced all the tests with a gold medal level, in the course I learned tons of advanced maneuvers: j-turn, y-turn, U-turn, s-turn, oversteering control, understeering control, self induced over and understeering to control the weight transfer of the car, I learned trail and threshold braking, counter steering, using reference points in low-vis situations especially on the highway, understanding the different car engine types (MR,FR,RWD,FWD), I learned to understand the abs system, what it does, the escs (electronic stability control system), I even learned to brake using the handbrake when your brakes fail you, and actually advanced beginner means that I have many pro skills but since I got my licence recently, I am considered beginner based on time. Anyway, so in the video you show and say some things that I would be eager or willing to change or add to: 1) the way you grab the steering wheel, the reason you grab the steering wheel at 3-9 is not only because it's more ergonomic, but because it gives you a downward grip, the downward grip force is very important at high speeds, especially when there's a curvature, because the faster you go the more understeering happens, The lighter the car, the more the understeer. I would go on to explain a lot more but that would be a really long comment. 2) for the braking with the left foot, it's important to master this skill, because a) it makes you learn to drive with your left foot in the situation where the driver passes out and you're a passenger b) slows down and reduces the amount of time and distance you need to brake especially when you trailbrake. Another reason to left foot brake is when you're a big kid like me and the car is too small for you, everytime I drive my dad's car and I drive the way they teach in driving schools(using the right foot for accelarator and brake), I don't have a knee anymore, or if I don't kill my knees from the rotation, I have a tibial nerve compression and don't feel my leg anymore, but when I brake with my left foot, I save my right leg and knee, I train it for pedal sensitivity, and I reduce the amount of time I need to brake(the lifting of the foot from the gas to the brake takes more time, than already having a foot on the brake), it also teaches me good habits of not letting the car idle but to distribute the weight always because understeering and oversteering happens when weight transfer causes traction loss. One last thing, after seeing this video, I was encouraged, motivated to make a driving series called from Sim-to-Life.
@@omariipowers1281 I am working on it, I was surprised to see someone interested enough to ask me, usually people don't reply to my comments, to tell you the truth, it's kind of difficult especially on lockdown, my parents aren't very keen on following me in the car behind.
