Excellent review, Dan. And San Gabriel is a beautiful area. 1968 does not serve a buffet. They call it that to get across the AYCE aspect but i's order off the menu all you can eat. Much better than food sitting there under heat lamps.
Dim Sum means 'Point to your Heart' it was eaten as snack with your tea. More of a appetizer than a meal. Its first time I heard there is Dim Sum buffet. Nice video Dan😊
To westerners dim sum are appetizers. Westerners also think of Xiao Long Bao as dim sum but it’s not. Traditional dim sum is neither. It used to be a morning or lunch meal but now people even have dim sum for dinner. Men used to go to tea houses holding on their bird cages to enjoy －盅兩件 - literally means a cup (of tea) and two pieces (of food). We don’t say we are having dim sum but say we are going to drink tea 飲茶 which includes eating dim sum along with having tea.
Yum!!! The jumbo gluten rice looks delicious. The minced pork fries doling thing is one of my favorite dim sum. I like the prawn rice rolls with extra soy sauce also. Cool video DVW!!! 😊
Dim sum translates to touch of the heart ❤...the ribs..usually it's very tender, they didn't cook it enough...it was a steamed roast pork bun not baked...Ik it's one of your favs and you let it slip and called them baked instead 😂😂😂, the meatballs are usually nice but those didn't look to appealing 😮...great spread, enjoy and have a nice day ❤😊
It was priced at $19.68 until to the end of July 2024. When we went there in early August, they said they cancelled the AYCE. Now they reinstates the AYCE but jacks up the price to $25.88.
