Cod zombies has been such a big part of my childhood and life. Been playing since I was 8 years old and now I’m 24 so it’s been with me forever. The zombies mode growing as I grew was such a surreal feeling for sure and I will always cherish the memories on each game ESPECIALLY bo3. What a masterpiece. Sad that we zombies has fallen from grace since Cold War
I am hopeful for Bo6. A lot of negativity going around about liberty falls, but the game still looks fun and terminus atmosphere seems amazing. I don't think I'll ever feel how I did playing WaW back in the day, but I don't think any game will ever truly get that feeling back. But yeah I also grew up playing these games so I will always have nostalgia for it.

Man I'm literally the same. Started at 8, 24 now and had the best time in BO3, but ngl BO6 has single handedly revitalized my love for this game. I haven't been this invested in zombies since 2015.

Black ops 1 IMO was the peak for me. Man having kino, five and the 4 classical maps was amazing, then of course the map packs, seeing a trailer for a map pack made me so excited, from ascension to moon, back then they even were trying to use VRILL and ancient aliens to carry the story(honestly what made zombies creepy and mysterious along the with ww2 Nazi stuff)
I respect that, I do remember how crazy it was when everyone solved moon. Or when syndicate "got round 115" (obviously no one knew it was fake at the time). Lot of really good memories in bo1
Bo2 is my favorite because it has like the most variety of any zombies game, each map has their own unique quirks and is like a completely different experience both gameplay and aesthetic wise. I cant really say that for bo3 because it felt so sanitized like you said, even tho shadows is my favorite map ever. Also glad to finally see someone else agree that tranzit is the only bad map in bo2, the rest are bangers🔥
Moon is definitely the most conflicted map so many good and bad features lmao 😂. I remember on BO1 it took foreverrr to get the Easter egg done, but I was like 7, but I wasn’t doing it alone I had a bunch of 16 year old friends helping me. Years later on BO3 I got the moon achievement on exactly round 20 the luck we had was crazy.

Man I met my first love on black ops 1 my sophomore year of highschool... It's called kino I remember my first try ever , everything was so cool I was so interested in it I lasted till like round 5 and when I died I was so intrigued by the map I remember thinking ( this circle thing on the floor leads somewhere, I remember saying OMYGOD THERES A THEATER. I WAS HOOKED. I played religiously, bought every SINGLE DLC , DID EVERY EASTER EGG ALL THE WAY TILL ADVANCED WARFARE.. then I grew up and had to get a job haven't played since.. but the memories will die with me .. I love zombies

I'm not mad you don't recognize him, but I HIGHLY recommend watching the movie Clerks. It was his directorial debut and is regarded as one of the greatest comedies of all time. Outside of that and Dogma (one of my favorites), his other movies are hit or miss, but the characters Jay and Silent Bob from Clerks have cameoed or been parodied so many times in film and the existence of this easter egg makes me really happy, he definitely earned his inclusion here as an icon of film history and fits Rave in the Redwoods particularly well. Thanks for making me reconsider IW Zombies.

B01 original moon ee with the telepprter space man glitch where you let him grab u beside a junpe pad but before he teleports you you walk left or right onto the pad so when he "teleports you" you teleport but the pad launches u wich makes u teleport allover the map but 30 ft in the air. Trick is to get the outside spawn with the gate for the teleporter up... land in the cage.. wait for your team to join you or die.. then everytije u teleport back to the moon you just run back to the biodome. Kill 6 zombies and wait for the cage to lift to rinse and repeat 6 zombies and 1 lap per round.. good old memories
My favorite COD zombies game is contractors VR.. nothing official could compare! BO1 and BO3 are my favorite official games, but exploring the older games in vr.. totally different experience!

eventho im old enough when bo1 or even waw zombies is out, living at the tiny village where even electric is a luxury, i cant afford to play them, . the only zombies i can actualy experience properly is bo2 zombie. Man, did i play tranzit like no tomorrow and keep getting to high round on town, farm & bus depot map. i cant really play Grief since got no one to play with.
I can see it, honestly I just left WaW out because I felt like that as them really getting their footing, and bo1 is where they really understood where they wanted to take the mode.
I went back and forth on it. (For reference, I have been playing since Nact). I mostly left it out since it felt like it was them getting their footing before really learning what to do with bo1 +
IW may be underrated, but I loved the direction they went with its zombie’s mode. It was like a breath of fresh air. Sadly, due to the bad rep of IW, it kept many players away. Not knowing how good IW zombies is.
@@CoachFerret the campaign was good though and honestly so was the multiplayer. People just didn't like that it was another futuristic exo movement game, but I personally loved all 3 of them. I hope it returns someday.
black ops 1 is my favorite but world at war was my first experience with going to my friends and him showing me the secret mode and playing split screen all night. Also world at wars custom maps made me fall in love with the game even more when I got a computer. I think black ops 3 was convoluted and was annoying to have to do several of the steps every game just to play normally and black ops 2 has way more annoying things about it not to mention we all just played town on its launch and only the last 2 maps were good (Plus I didn't enjoy the black ops 2 guns as much) . I enjoy the black ops 1 maps much more. Basically I got from this video that they just had to tweak a couple small things like the bosses and wonder weapons to make black ops 1 the best.
I respect that, I mainly left WaW out since I felt like it was them still getting their footing under them. Lot of my friends really love Bo1 too, and it was 100% a great time back in the day.
I just saw shadows of evil being played on the Xbox 360 and it really showed how crazy Tranzit really was. It’s honestly impressive they were able to make that map at all. Personally I loved that map. It has a lot of flaws, but the good outweigh it too me at least. Die rise tho was the flop for me.
If Tranzit was made on newer consoles man it would’ve been amazing. The ambition was there and that’s why I appreciate the most. I also love how mf hard it is. I find it funny you love five, but not Tranzit? The main gripe I have with Tranzit is that the PaP machine is so dumb.
Transit is definitely A tier while Die Rise is C or B idk how people put that map on S tier. I was so hyped for Die rise too a skyscraper zombie map was so cool, but it was a flop.
Ranking Die Rise so high, especially above so many other beloved maps, is wild. I understand why you like it on a subjective level, and I respect your opinion, but it honestly belongs one step above Tranzit. Having both of those maps be how BO2 introduced its' Zombies mode, along with the lazy copy/paste Nuketown Zombies, left a taste in my mouth so bad I can still feel it a dozen years later. Those 3 maps damn near killed Zombies right there and then, and I cannot for the life of me understand why a game where half the maps are absolutely horrendous is considered by many to better than BO3, which with Chronicles and Custom maps, has every good thing BO2 had, (well, Buried remastered isn't ready yet, but will be soon), but with far superior gameplay, graphics, and mechanics.
Just comes down to preference really, with bo2 I love playing die rise, so when I look at the stretch of Die rise -> Origins it had 3 all timers and a solid map for me. I think objectively bo3 was the peak of the mode / community, but subjectively I just enjoyed Bo2 more.

@@CoachFerret Yeah like I said, I respect where your coming from. You enjoy what you enjoy and there's nothing wrong with that, and this is a subjective ranking of maps, so I can't fault you for it. Despite what I said, I actually don't absolutely despise Die Rise like many others do, but I can't deny that it had a lot of missteps in its' design, and that at the time, it really killed a lot of people's interest in the mode when the only 3 options ranged from downright awful to mediocre, but I guess that doesn't really matter all these years later.
I actually liked die rise and transit but i was pissed that "town" was the only normal map at first and i did not preorder or get season pass or whatever for nuketown
1:31:00 the flying stones you shoot with the apothicon servants are 11f rocks. When you shit all of them and go back to the apothicon stomach you can see the pap mashine has those stones inside of it
WAW and BO1 were mine. I played BO1 so much my ps3 flat out refuses to read or load it, bought another copy with the exact same outcome also could of been all the barrier glitching I might of done😅😢
I remember when verrukt dlc was released and it was amazing needless to say, I'm an OG. Yet my favourite zombies game is WW2 and bo4. My favourite maps are tranzit and voyage. I own every cod game and dlc bar vanguard which I did orepirder but refunded on steam when it wasn't what I thought it was going to be.. I think people have very different tastes, and I love that. But I long for a pre gobble gum/die machine easy mode attitude era of zombies. We'll never get that back. Everytime a dev switches it up and pulls something amazing out of the bag, the community shits on it because its not bo3 style. Which just saddens me because realistically, bo3 is where they dropped the ball.. At least with story elements and definitely with God mode crutches
I only completed transit by joining a random game on xbox and someone was using a hacked account they just kept spawning max ammo and gave us the ray gun mark 2
Cold war is my favorite. I only play cod and buy them every year. But cold war will always be my favorite because it was the first one i played with my son. I tried to get him into bo1 2 and 3 but he thinks they are to slow. I really don't mind the new ones and we are really keen for bo6 cant wait to grind the gumballs with him.
I am super excited for bo6 still, despite some community disappointment. I've played since WaW but a couple of my friends started in the Bo4/CW era so I still have a great time playing those with them.
I'm not gonna lie, like, 90 percent of the time I just don't have a favorite zombies game. Theyre all awesome. BO1, 2, and 3 kept it simple but perfectly done. IW was innovative and the story was awesome. BO4 was also innovative. Advanced Warfare was the best to me, I loved it. WWII was an actually scary zombies experience, and I liked it. Cold War was the first game that came after the Aether storyline, so of course its gonna be different, and you can't really fault it for going into new uncharted territories We dont talk about MWZ
No if we're talking about cold war then we're talking about mwz. Cold war was when zombies lost the charm of what made zombies great and enjoyable. I'm not a fan of mwz, but it's not terrible.
I really think for transhit they should've made packapunch accessible at least once power is turned on If they were gonna force you to use the turbine which is a source of power. the SVU is the one sniper you don't have to click to hold your breath to shoot good it don't sway
I feel that moon was ahead of its time i didnt like it on black ops 1 maybe cuase i was really young and it was too difficult for me 💀but the remaster on black ops 3 has made it one of my favourite maps 🔥
I think moon is one of the map's that benefited the most from bo3 mechanics. mostly making jug / speed easier to get an helping with the annoying pace of the map.
I was young asf and loved moon, I do have some bias to it tho cause it was the first EE I ever did added with the memory that me and my boi did the ee then died a round after lmao
It's common misinformation to say the Storm Bow is the best in the current state of Der Eisendrache. It's statistically overall the worst despite all 4 doing infinite damage. Which sounds wrong until you realize that the nerfs make it past round 30 if you're not camping have a slower kill speed than it does before round 30. This matters as the most buffed Bow the Void Bow has one thing in common with the Apothican Servant, it can kill more than 24 zombies with 1 shot. This means that the Void Bow is at least better than the Wolf and Fire Bows as it can use the least ammo. But it gets better for the Void Bow, it also does a lot of damage to the Panzer. And yet there's still more, The Void Bow has the highest range out of any Bow by far as the skulls can kill Zombies on the Death Ray from the Courtyard. Though back to why the Storm Bow is the worst, the kill time is almost as slow as the Fire Bow after Round 30, and because of this it struggles to kill 24 zombies when training, now that would only put it on par with the Wolf Bow in terms of killing hordes. Which itself isn't bad, but with the Wolf Bow you're average is 23 Zombies per charge shot, the Storm Bow actually averages 20 Zombies when Training which is notably lower than the other bows when training on all 4. Though it can deal with Panzers the easiest right? Wrong because if your at the Death Ray or have the Ragnaröks you can make the Fire and Void do it faster as they have the same effect as the charge shot of the Storm Bow and it's more consistent with both of those other options. But the Death Ray costs points and the Ragnaröks aren't always available you are probably saying and points aren't an issue in BO3 for a skilled player and the Ragnaröks will usually be recharged by the time another Panzer comes so neither is an issue. Now I haven't mentioned camping so it probably does the best there right? Unfortunately for you that'd also be wrong because the Void Bow doesn't matter on how you use it as it is multipurpose and is good in every spot the Storm Bow is good in. But how about the Fire and Wolf? They definitely do worse in camping Spots, but neither is unsafe when your charge shot goes off like the Storm Bow because of the kill delay after Round 30. The Fire Bow knocks down, holds in place and blocks other Zombies before killing so its pretty safe to camp with, the Wolf Bow just instantly kills any Zombies in the area the arrow hits and the Void kills them fast enough after the skulls are flying to where you're safer with the other 3 than the Storm Bow even if it is overall the 2nd best camping Bow. Now is the Storm Bow bad because all of these factors? No, it's just a little worse than the other bows. If you'd like the strongest to weakest bows here is the after patches list: Void, Fire, Wolf, Storm. Now why is the Wolf worse than the Fire? The 23 average per charge shot is good, but the Fire has a slightly better average on camping and training, the training averaging at 23.5 because of the knockdown and explosion often times killing 24 zombies while occasionally the Wolf Bow will miss 1 or 2 zombies. On top of it, the Wolf Bow does 1 damage to the Keeper Boss, I wish I was joking. Though at least the Wolf Bow does the highest damage per shot to Panzers, it's just you have to hit the Panzer for it to matter which is why it isn't typically as good for killing them. The Wolf Bow just is the hardest to use to it's fullest potential as well, so that also makes it worse typically. On top of it, the Wolf Bow is terrible for camping as it has no lingering effect like the other 3. The Fire Bow is good in more than one type of play which is why it is the 2nd best bow. Replying because this is actually something incorrect stated, g-sliding is not faster than BO3 Stamin-Up as BO3 Stamin-Up increases your move speed by 9-21%. Now why is it 9-21%? It is because it increases your mobility to 109% regardless of weapon class, The Dingo goes from 95% mobility to 109% as an example, the Drakon goes from 95% to 109%, the Kuda goes from 100% to 109% and the Apothican Servant goes from 90% to 109%. This means that your slightly faster while sprinting than g-sliding as g-sliding is about equal to something with 107% mobility. This was tested recently by Eazy P 40 and he found it to be what I'm saying here.
I never played any zombies map past mob of the dead sadly had no more friends to play with and moved on to other games and seems like i missed some good content Edit: i sadly got duped into getting cold war tho i did play the first map of that. Was far too easy, though
I think peak zombies is personally black ops 3 and 2 with black ops 4 not too far behind. As for the golden age I think black ops 2- black ops 4 was the golden age of cod. Not only because of black ops 2 and 3, but because we also got exo zombies and IW zombies which were good zombies modes in my opinion. I'll watch your individual videos on them first before watching this one.
@Riskofrain527 I will say all of the individuals outside of AW are combined into this one video. I left out AW and WaW here since I felt WaW was the devs learning what to make the mode. And AW , while I enjoyed it and was pretty positive overall, I don't think it is quite to the level of the others.
I entirely disagree with Origins, Tranzhit, and Die Rise have proven that they're not absolute shit for me, but once I get to gen 4 and 5 I literally cannot survive, even with jug, a shield, and my baby mp40.

Literally the map that came on launch on bo3 SoE you can’t do solo you can only do a portion of the EE and honestly still to this day it makes me mad cuz why do I need 3 other good players 😢😢😢
Bo1 is too inconsistent to put next to.... Bo2? The most inconsistent zombies game? The game that has 2 of the worst and 2 of the best maps of all time? Bo1 is much more consistent then Bo2 Ah see this is just where we differ, I think Tranzit is F tier, Die Rise is D-C tier, Buried is B, MOTD is A, and Origins is S, so Bo2 is very inconsistent to me
Yeah, it's just all preference, really. I am someone who really enjoys all of the maps from Die Rise -> Origins. So I'll naturally have that game a lot higher.
Objectively Bo3 is the best cod zombies game and probably will be the best forever considering how modern games work Simple, undeniable reason - it has custom maps with an editor thats not completely terrible to work with by modern standards. Could make a case for waw because it has custom maps and that game has a certain feel to it but bo3 plays better because of the engine. You can play the classic der riese in bo3 with the 2 hit system and no sliding and it's much better than waw version gameplay wise Can't really argue with that. You get so many dlc worthy maps in that workshop that it's simply unlimited zombie content and you can't beat that
Yeah from an objectively looking at the amount of content and average level I would agree, I do enjoy the peeks of bo2 more personally though. One thing I will disagree with is the point about the custom map editor. It is still pretty terrible by modern standards, just better than WaW's. That's coming from most of my experience being with unreal engine/Godot/Unity which all have significantly better layouts / movement / flow.
@@CoachFerret About the editor - that's why I said not completely terrible to work with. WaW is terrible all the way :) When it comes to my golden zombie times definitely WaW. It was back when it was still scary and one of the best memories from my childhood is that mark on Verruckt loading screen that said runs great on intel The DLC's were free on PC but you had to download them for the box release and man i remember downloading only the necessary patches to get my zombie maps and roaming around forums to see which i can skip because it took several hours to download even one lol

But I definitely have a lot of great memories of skipping school to play the new DLCs when that game was new
World at War and Black Ops 1 are the "Golden Age". Everything past has been controversial to say the least. Black Ops 2 Released with transit and then Die Rise, a slap in the face to the fans. Shadows of Evil was also clowned heavily at launch, despite what people want to remember. Most fans got into zombies at its peak and then proceeded to critique the sequels to death.
One interesting thing about the shadows point, I feel that does tend to happen with every game. Bo1 had Moon and Five be generally considered much better with age, Bo2 had buried, bo3 had shadows, and bo4 had Dead Of The Night. Just an interesting trend
Not finished with the video yet so I might return with different thoughts, but I think your assessment of BO1 is completely insane. I can understand it not being your favourite, but to infer BO1 is "too inconsistent to put in the same tier as BO2" baffles me. BO2? The game that has two of the most hated maps across all of the games? That's not even mentioning people's general distaste towards Nuketown. 3/6 of BO2's map selection are divisive, how is that more consistent than BO1?
That just comes down to where my thoughts on bo2 sit, I enjoy nuketown and die rise a lot, whereas a lot of other people don't. So for me it only has 1 real bad map, which isn't the main opinion in the community, but subjectively that is why I don't have it in the same tier.
@@CoachFerret I actually side with you on this. I'm an avid Die Rise defender, and I think Nuketown, while not the most interesting map, has some cool quirks and can be fun to play casually. With that said I still can't understand, it is ultimately personal preference, but I wouldn't consider a single map in BO1 to be lower than C tier. To me BO1 has a more consistent vision too; they knew what they wanted to do and executed it to near perfection. BO2 in comparison is kind of a mess, Zelinski clearly was all over the place with his maps and even though Blundell's two are excellent and some of the best we've ever seen, the game lacks a consistent identity.

(I have been playing since WaW so this isn't that I didn't play Bo1 during its heyday) but for me maps like Kino, ascension and Moon don't stand up to what came after. Where in Bo2, the only map I have below B tier is tranzit and besides nuketown everything else I had is in A or higher with 3 S tiers.
but again, to each their own and I can see why bo1 might be higher for someone. I think in general the Zombies community can get really passionate about what is good or bad and that causes a lot of arguments lol.
@@CoachFerret On those grounds you're totally right. Kino, Ascension, and Moon don't have a fraction of the content you can find in later maps. For me, I put a lot of weight on what impact a map had (What mechanics did it introduce? What mechanics did it improve?). Even then Kino is lacking and I agree it's sorely overrated. But in the case of Ascension it had the first easter egg, two new perks, the first travel mechanic to deviate from teleporters, first boss round that wasn't dogs, etc. Moon deserves its flowers too with the first super easter egg, first wonder weapon with two modes, and the first instance of equipment with the hacker and helmet. Although maps like Mob and Origins really revolutionised the Zombies formula, I think its made people less appreciative of all the incredible things BO1 introduced.
😂😂 as a new zombies player who has only played Bo3 and WaW on my phone 12 years ago, id rank the maps in bo3 Revalations Shadows DE Zetsubo GK To be fair, I haven't played the last 2 extensively. Upgrading the bows in DE is such a hassle... but the swords in shadows is perfect

@YungPop explained it in another comment, but I consider WaW them getting their feet under them and learning where to take the mode before it really took off in Bo1. And I just rate IW very high compared to everything that game after it. Just personal preference there.
Something about the challenge of B01 makes it what it is. Back when hitting your new highest round was genuinely rewarding.

Yeah I think bo2 was the last time that zombies really felt like a jump between maps, which can be both good or bad depending on how you see it.

Man I met my first love on black ops 1 my sophomore year of highschool... It's called kino I remember my first try ever , everything was so cool I was so interested in it I lasted till like round 5 and when I died I was so intrigued by the map I remember thinking ( this circle thing on the floor leads somewhere, I remember saying OMYGOD THERES A THEATER. I WAS HOOKED. I played religiously, bought every SINGLE DLC , DID EVERY EASTER EGG ALL THE WAY TILL ADVANCED WARFARE.. then I grew up and had to get a job haven't played since.. but the memories will die with me .. B) KEVIN SMITH?!? I'm not mad you don't recognize him, but I HIGHLY recommend watching the movie Clerks. It was his directorial debut and is regarded as one of the greatest comedies of all time. Outside of that and Dogma (one of my favorites), his other movies are hit or miss, but the characters Jay and Silent Bob from Clerks have cameoed or been parodied so many times in film and the existence of this easter egg makes me really happy, he definitely earned his inclusion here as an icon of film history and fits Rave in the Redwoods particularly well. Thanks for making me reconsider IW Zombies.

Kino at D is the most insane take I’ve ever seen. I respect it though, as much as I may disagree.
B01 original moon ee with the telepprter space man glitch where you let him grab u beside a junpe pad but before he teleports you you walk left or right onto the pad so when he "teleports you" you teleport but the pad launches u wich makes u teleport allover the map but 30 ft in the air. Trick is to get the outside spawn with the gate for the teleporter up... land in the cage.. wait for your team to join you or die.. then everytije u teleport back to the moon you just run back to the biodome. Kill 6 zombies and wait for the cage to lift to rinse and repeat 6 zombies and 1 lap per round.. good old memories

eventho im old enough when bo1 or even waw zombies is out, living at the tiny village where even electric is a luxury, i cant afford to play them, . the only zombies i can actualy experience properly is bo2 zombie. Man, did i play tranzit like no tomorrow and keep getting to high round on town, farm & bus depot map. i cant really play Grief since got no one to play with.

IW may be underrated, but I loved the direction they went with its zombie’s mode. It was like a breath of fresh air. Sadly, due to the bad rep of IW, it kept many players away. Not knowing how good IW zombies is.
Yeah I think the general underperformance of IW multiplayer and campaign had a big effect on how people saw zombies.

black ops 1 is my favorite but world at war was my first experience with going to my friends and him showing me the secret mode and playing split screen all night. Also world at wars custom maps made me fall in love with the game even more when I got a computer. I think black ops 3 was convoluted and was annoying to have to do several of the steps every game just to play normally and black ops 2 has way more annoying things about it not to mention we all just played town on its launch and only the last 2 maps were good (Plus I didn't enjoy the black ops 2 guns as much) . I enjoy the black ops 1 maps much more. Basically I got from this video that they just had to tweak a couple small things like the bosses and wonder weapons to make black ops 1 the best.
I also started it WaW, it'll always be a comfort game to go back to for myself

Golden age for me is WAW-BO2. BO1 is the best game in the series, even if Origins and Mob are the two best maps off all time.
I respect that, I mainly left WaW out since I felt like it was them still getting their footing under them. Lot of my friends really love Bo1 too, and it was 100% a great time back in the day.
I just saw shadows of evil being played on the Xbox 360 and it really showed how crazy Tranzit really was. It’s honestly impressive they were able to make that map at all. Personally I loved that map. It has a lot of flaws, but the good outweigh it too me at least. Die rise tho was the flop for me.
If Tranzit was made on newer consoles man it would’ve been amazing. The ambition was there and that’s why I appreciate the most. I also love how mf hard it is. I find it funny you love five, but not Tranzit? The main gripe I have with Tranzit is that the PaP machine is so dumb.

Ranking Die Rise so high, especially above so many other beloved maps, is wild. I understand why you like it on a subjective level, and I respect your opinion, but it honestly belongs one step above Tranzit. Having both of those maps be how BO2 introduced its' Zombies mode, along with the lazy copy/paste Nuketown Zombies, left a taste in my mouth so bad I can still feel it a dozen years later. Those 3 maps damn near killed Zombies right there and then, and I cannot for the life of me understand why a game where half the maps are absolutely horrendous is considered by many to better than BO3, which with Chronicles and Custom maps, has every good thing BO2 had, (well, Buried remastered isn't ready yet, but will be soon), but with far superior gameplay, graphics, and mechanics.

Just comes down to preference really, with bo2 I love playing die rise, so when I look at the stretch of Die rise -> Origins it had 3 all timers and a solid map for me. I think objectively bo3 was the peak of the mode / community, but subjectively I just enjoyed Bo2 more.

@@CoachFerret Yeah like I said, I respect where your coming from. You enjoy what you enjoy and there's nothing wrong with that, and this is a subjective ranking of maps, so I can't fault you for it. Despite what I said, I actually don't absolutely despise Die Rise like many others do, but I can't deny that it had a lot of missteps in its' design, and that at the time, it really killed a lot of people's interest in the mode when the only 3 options ranged from downright awful to mediocre, but I guess that doesn't really matter all these years later.
I actually liked die rise and transit but i was pissed that "town" was the only normal map at first and i did not preorder or get season pass or whatever for nuketown

I remember when verrukt dlc was released and it was amazing needless to say, I'm an OG. Yet my favourite zombies game is WW2 and bo4. My favourite maps are tranzit and voyage. I own every cod game and dlc bar vanguard which I did orepirder but refunded on steam when it wasn't what I thought it was going to be.. I think people have very different tastes, and I love that. But I long for a pre gobble gum/die machine easy mode attitude era of zombies. We'll never get that back. Everytime a dev switches it up and pulls something amazing out of the bag, the community shits on it because its not bo3 style. Which just saddens me because realistically, bo3 is where they dropped the ball.. At least with story elements and definitely with God mode crutches

Cold war is my favorite. I only play cod and buy them every year. But cold war will always be my favorite because it was the first one i played with my son.
I tried to get him into bo1 2 and 3 but he thinks they are to slow.
I really don't mind the new ones and we are really keen for bo6 cant wait to grind the gumballs with him.
I am super excited for bo6 still, despite some community disappointment. I've played since WaW but a couple of my friends started in the Bo4/CW era so I still have a great time playing those with them.
waw-bo2 is what i consider the best zombies era, back when it had nothing to do with cosmic aliens.
I'm not gonna lie, like, 90 percent of the time I just don't have a favorite zombies game. Theyre all awesome. BO1, 2, and 3 kept it simple but perfectly done. IW was innovative and the story was awesome. BO4 was also innovative. Advanced Warfare was the best to me, I loved it. WWII was an actually scary zombies experience, and I liked it. Cold War was the first game that came after the Aether storyline, so of course its gonna be different, and you can't really fault it for going into new uncharted territories

I think moon is one of the map's that benefited the most from bo3 mechanics. mostly making jug / speed easier to get an helping with the annoying pace of the map.
I was young asf and loved moon, I do have some bias to it tho cause it was the first EE I ever did added with the memory that me and my boi did the ee then died a round after lmao

You speak the truth
It's common misinformation to say the Storm Bow is the best in the current state of Der Eisendrache. It's statistically overall the worst despite all 4 doing infinite damage. Which sounds wrong until you realize that the nerfs make it past round 30 if you're not camping have a slower kill speed than it does before round 30. This matters as the most buffed Bow the Void Bow has one thing in common with the Apothican Servant, it can kill more than 24 zombies with 1 shot. This means that the Void Bow is at least better than the Wolf and Fire Bows as it can use the least ammo. But it gets better for the Void Bow, it also does a lot of damage to the Panzer. And yet there's still more, The Void Bow has the highest range out of any Bow by far as the skulls can kill Zombies on the Death Ray from the Courtyard. Though back to why the Storm Bow is the worst, the kill time is almost as slow as the Fire Bow after Round 30, and because of this it struggles to kill 24 zombies when training, now that would only put it on par with the Wolf Bow in terms of killing hordes. Which itself isn't bad, but with the Wolf Bow you're average is 23 Zombies per charge shot, the Storm Bow actually averages 20 Zombies when Training which is notably lower than the other bows when training on all 4. Though it can deal with Panzers the easiest right? Wrong because if your at the Death Ray or have the Ragnaröks you can make the Fire and Void do it faster as they have the same effect as the charge shot of the Storm Bow and it's more consistent with both of those other options. But the Death Ray costs points and the Ragnaröks aren't always available you are probably saying and points aren't an issue in BO3 for a skilled player and the Ragnaröks will usually be recharged by the time another Panzer comes so neither is an issue. Now I haven't mentioned camping so it probably does the best there right? Unfortunately for you that'd also be wrong because the Void Bow doesn't matter on how you use it as it is multipurpose and is good in every spot the Storm Bow is good in. But how about the Fire and Wolf? They definitely do worse in camping Spots, but neither is unsafe when your charge shot goes off like the Storm Bow because of the kill delay after Round 30. The Fire Bow knocks down, holds in place and blocks other Zombies before killing so its pretty safe to camp with, the Wolf Bow just instantly kills any Zombies in the area the arrow hits and the Void kills them fast enough after the skulls are flying to where you're safer with the other 3 than the Storm Bow even if it is overall the 2nd best camping Bow. Now is the Storm Bow bad because all of these factors? No, it's just a little worse than the other bows. If you'd like the strongest to weakest bows here is the after patches list: Void, Fire, Wolf, Storm. Now why is the Wolf worse than the Fire? The 23 average per charge shot is good, but the Fire has a slightly better average on camping and training, the training averaging at 23.5 because of the knockdown and explosion often times killing 24 zombies while occasionally the Wolf Bow will miss 1 or 2 zombies. On top of it, the Wolf Bow does 1 damage to the Keeper Boss, I wish I was joking. Though at least the Wolf Bow does the highest damage per shot to Panzers, it's just you have to hit the Panzer for it to matter which is why it isn't typically as good for killing them. The Wolf Bow just is the hardest to use to it's fullest potential as well, so that also makes it worse typically. On top of it, the Wolf Bow is terrible for camping as it has no lingering effect like the other 3. The Fire Bow is good in more than one type of play which is why it is the 2nd best bow.

Replying because this is actually something incorrect stated, g-sliding is not faster than BO3 Stamin-Up as BO3 Stamin-Up increases your move speed by 9-21%. Now why is it 9-21%? It is because it increases your mobility to 109% regardless of weapon class, The Dingo goes from 95% mobility to 109% as an example, the Drakon goes from 95% to 109%, the Kuda goes from 100% to 109% and the Apothican Servant goes from 90% to 109%. This means that your slightly faster while sprinting than g-sliding as g-sliding is about equal to something with 107% mobility. This was tested recently by Eazy P 40 and he found it to be what I'm saying here.

I think peak zombies is personally black ops 3 and 2 with black ops 4 not too far behind. As for the golden age I think black ops 2- black ops 4 was the golden age of cod. Not only because of black ops 2 and 3, but because we also got exo zombies and IW zombies which were good zombies modes in my opinion. I'll watch your individual videos on them first before watching this one.
@Riskofrain527 I will say all of the individuals outside of AW are combined into this one video. I left out AW and WaW here since I felt WaW was the devs learning what to make the mode. And AW , while I enjoyed it and was pretty positive overall, I don't think it is quite to the level of the others.

Simple, undeniable reason - it has custom maps with an editor thats not completely terrible to work with by modern standards. Could make a case for waw because it has custom maps and that game has a certain feel to it but bo3 plays better because of the engine. You can play the classic der riese in bo3 with the 2 hit system and no sliding and it's much better than waw version gameplay wise

Yeah from an objectively looking at the amount of content and average level I would agree, I do enjoy the peeks of bo2 more personally though. One thing I will disagree with is the point about the custom map editor. It is still pretty terrible by modern standards, just better than WaW's. That's coming from most of my experience being with unreal engine/Godot/Unity which all have significantly better layouts / movement / flow.
@@CoachFerret About the editor - that's why I said not completely terrible to work with. WaW is terrible all the way :) When it comes to my golden zombie times definitely WaW. It was back when it was still scary and one of the best memories from my childhood is that mark on Verruckt loading screen that said runs great on intel
The DLC's were free on PC but you had to download them for the box release and man i remember downloading only the necessary patches to get my zombie maps and roaming around forums to see which i can skip because it took several hours to download even one lol

World at War and Black Ops 1 are the "Golden Age". Everything past has been controversial to say the least. Black Ops 2 Released with transit and then Die Rise, a slap in the face to the fans. Shadows of Evil was also clowned heavily at launch, despite what people want to remember. Most fans got into zombies at its peak and then proceeded to critique the sequels to death.
One interesting thing about the shadows point, I feel that does tend to happen with every game. Bo1 had Moon and Five be generally considered much better with age, Bo2 had buried, bo3 had shadows, and bo4 had Dead Of The Night. Just an interesting trend

Not finished with the video yet so I might return with different thoughts, but I think your assessment of BO1 is completely insane. I can understand it not being your favourite, but to infer BO1 is "too inconsistent to put in the same tier as BO2" baffles me. BO2? The game that has two of the most hated maps across all of the games? That's not even mentioning people's general distaste towards Nuketown. 3/6 of BO2's map selection are divisive, how is that more consistent than BO1?
That just comes down to where my thoughts on bo2 sit, I enjoy nuketown and die rise a lot, whereas a lot of other people don't. So for me it only has 1 real bad map, which isn't the main opinion in the community, but subjectively that is why I don't have it in the same tier.
@@CoachFerret I actually side with you on this. I'm an avid Die Rise defender, and I think Nuketown, while not the most interesting map, has some cool quirks and can be fun to play casually. With that said I still can't understand, it is ultimately personal preference, but I wouldn't consider a single map in BO1 to be lower than C tier. To me BO1 has a more consistent vision too; they knew what they wanted to do and executed it to near perfection. BO2 in comparison is kind of a mess, Zelinski clearly was all over the place with his maps and even though Blundell's two are excellent and some of the best we've ever seen, the game lacks a consistent identity.

@@CoachFerret On those grounds you're totally right. Kino, Ascension, and Moon don't have a fraction of the content you can find in later maps. For me, I put a lot of weight on what impact a map had (What mechanics did it introduce? What mechanics did it improve?). Even then Kino is lacking and I agree it's sorely overrated. But in the case of Ascension it had the first easter egg, two new perks, the first travel mechanic to deviate from teleporters, first boss round that wasn't dogs, etc. Moon deserves its flowers too with the first super easter egg, first wonder weapon with two modes, and the first instance of equipment with the hacker and helmet. Although maps like Mob and Origins really revolutionised the Zombies formula, I think its made people less appreciative of all the incredible things BO1 introduced.
What about exo-zombies? It wasn't perfect but I was certainly invested in the story
I have a video on Exo, mostly just felt it didn't fit in with the other games in terms of quality, overall it's a fun game but with a lot of issues.
