    ..it's about time companies were listening to the consumers. hopefully they will offer some in the 100# and bigger. Great review...!

    I love it, just started checking out Vevor's stock and they got everything. I could use a small anvil for on the road shows instead of dragging the 161lb from the home shop. Looks like something to check out for that price.

    I got the london pattern "100 LB" actually 92 pounds, (for 149) in black with a 1 1/8 inch hardy - that's 28.5mm - try finding a store bought hardy tool with that. Mounted it on a custom stand, hit it with my hammer mid strong, and dented the face.
    Instantly said, yup it is a working anvil, not a show piece.

    actually that pritchard looks like it was punched rather than drilled! the bottom edge looks like it has that punched lip burr on it! i'd give it a go but i bought the doyle already and it's working pretty good so far as much as i use it! i still find myself using the cast iron one i've got and the modified splitting wedge i use as a stump anvil more than anything!

    • @VooDooTennessee

      It very well could be punched out. I still like the Doyle myself.

    This is what happens when you have a designer designing a product they do not use. He was thinking "Hey, I'll be fancy and cut costs and put the holes right over the mounting screw holes and I'll be a HERO!!" It's not good. I like that you scan screw them in through the top like that, but I'd rather use a ratchet below and have proper hole placement personally.

    do you think that anvil is better than the Doyle harbor freight anvil?

    • @VooDooTennessee
      @VooDooTennessee  Год назад

      I would say they are equal quality. The Doyle has a wider face and is a bit shorter. The double horn design of the Doyle is nice. It really comes down to preference. If you're doing any kind of US historic reenacting I would go with the vevor as it is a more common pattern here in the states. In the class I had this weekend my students were split right down the middle as to which they preferred. Hope this helps.

    • @VooDooTennessee
      @VooDooTennessee  Год назад +3

      I would put them at the same level quality and user friendly wise. I like the wider face of the Doyle but I like the familiarity of this london pattern. This is leaps and bounds above the 30kg blue vevor, but I would say equal to the Doyle.

    I understand the metric system just fine...I refuse to be dumbed down enough to use it though. American Standard system all the way for me. Don't care about the color as long as it is a good anvil. looks like the second one is better than the first one and it would be the one I would prefer.

    I hate to ruin it for you but blacksmithing being an old thing means most the stuff related to it is in imperial all over the world. So I doubt the 66lb is just for the American market.

    So it’s Chinese made. If America wants to get back in the game they should step up quality first and then work on availability and finally price. Then most would be buying American again.
