This is the best anvil guide I have ever seen on youtube. You are spot on with all points. New blacksmiths take notes!

Metal work is always beautiful, fascinating, and wonderful! I appreciated metal work than woodwork, because it allows you do anything that seems no problem than woodworking.

What I love about this anvil is the enormous girth of the waist of the avil! This gives the requiered inertia for me to less effortlessly hammer out my work. The horn is not that important than the bulk in the centre!

I would like to get one of the best anvils: e.g vevor cast iron 66lbs with two holes. It is always untiring to work with tools.

165lb Kanca from Centaur Forge. Cant beat it. I also have a 165 that I bought used and it is just steel cast. The Kanca has a top that is 65'ish Rockwell hardness.

11:00 How can i heat treat a piece of steel like this (if i can at all) ? Also if i am not sure which kind of steel it is? Would it still make sense to buy a big enough piece fort a good price?
Would also be great if someone could weld a hardened plate on that steel pipe if that is senseful.

I like my short lengths of railroad tracks. Don't need an expensive anvil.
Didn't cost us anything. Short lengths of Steel I - beams work really well too.
Pieces of either are just about free. $10 a pound... um no. Anvil snobs.
