  • An anvil should be at proper working height. Most of the time that requires good solid stand. The heavier the stand the better, but for this little anvil I'm going to keep the stand simple and somewhat portable. The anvil stand will be built up from dimensional lumber

This weekend I am building a stand out of 4x4s for my little starter Vevor. This video is super timely.

Watched your video, then built a very similar stand for that anvil's twin brother. Thank you for taking the time to build it while piddling around with the cameras and all that. I can't imagine how distracting that might be, to always be having it in mind to stay centered in the shot, to have to stop working and move a camera, and especially not inventing new words when the inanimate objects start getting contrary! 🤣
Your delivery and dry humor just make it all work together, at least for me. Thanks again!

Excited to make mine! I think ill throw another 2x10 across the top and bolt my anvil to that with the silicone, so I can remove it if need be. I picked up the vevor anvil you suggested in the $500 budget video (88lbs though). I havent started black smithing just yet, as life is hectic, but I've been watching your videos for a bit now and have been slowing gathering the things I want to start. You're the reason I finally set out to start blacksmithing! Thank you so much for your videos!

I made a similar stand for my HF Doyle anvil, but staggered the boards by 1.5” to make slots for my hammers, it came out pretty nice😊

Just did this 2 days ago with my new vevor anvil and some reclaimed timber
    Thanks for all the videos
I've dreamed of blacksmithing work since watching a farrier make horse shoes out of the back of his van when I was just about 4 or 5
Thanks to your content, Vevor, and black friday sales, I've bit the bullet and got the stuff to set up a little work shop.
I feel giddy just knowing I own an anvil, and I can't wait to start making my own fittings, cookware and tools.

My first thought was how you were going to fit the lumber in the car.
When the cordless saw came out in the parking lot, I thought, "Ok, you got me."

I made mine out of nine lengths of 4x4, in three rows of three, secured with a lot of allthread, washers and nuts. Worked out nicely for me.

I am quite impressed by these vevor anvils they seem to be pretty decent size and price for starting out and seeing if you are into forging.
I am well down the blacksmiths path and dont need one but if I did a demonstration I might use one of these for ease of putting it in the car.

Bit late to the party, but I just bought one of these anvils and it rings like a bell. I'd need hearing protection if I was going to work on it as is.

The silicon used to adhere it to the block helps considerably
