Perfect tutorial! I've not found this information anywhere else! I've been so confused about shapes and connecting pieces. I'm new at this and had no idea how to fit pieces together. You have given me everything I need to begin. What a fantastic resource this series is. Thanks!
I literally just started getting into scrumbling for a project for next year's art show in my city, and I was worried I'd never figure out how to join the pieces together. This is a brilliant tutorial. It never would have occurred to me to simply build up spaces until you can whip stitch pieces together. You've helped me so much!! 🧶 💗
I love your freeform series. Even though i am an intermediate crocheter, I found this really useful as I tried freeform before and struggled with it. Thank you for sharing 🤗
Fantastic tutorial!!! I learned soooo much!! So glad you decided to make and post it despite struggles with lighting and computer. This video will surely springboard me into freeform crochet! Will watch it a few times, along with your other free form beginner shapes video. Thank you!
Yes, it is indeed! I'm not sure if you saw this article I wrote about that very thing on my blog: patriciafentie.com/2020/02/26/why-crochet-is-so-good-for-you/
Yes! I have been wanting to do another tutorial on that as well. I am currently working on a granny square blanket pattern, and then the tutorial after that will be on some advanced freeform crochet stitches. Thank you for your request (and nudge). :)
Thank you so much. The instructions are really clear. I was trying to do my first ever freeform crochet today and was stuck. your video answered many of my questions.
Oh thank you so much for this video! I have had a project in my head for a while but I wasn't sure how to go about it. This was the key! I am so delighted to start doing it!
Thank you for your videos, they are put together so well - I've really learned a lot and enjoyed them. I am now busy making freeform shapes and am excited to see what I can do with them. Many thanks!
Thank you! It is acrylic yarn, number 4 medium weight. I used a few different brands, and as best as I can remember...Cascade-Anthem, Bernat-Satin, Patons-Canadiana, and maybe some Bernat-Premium. It was bits and bobs!

You can crotchet the peices together which is also nice so you don't have to sew seams at all.
