      Hi B. Yungshin, Thanks for watching. If I remember right, that's what the manual mentioned to do. Still not sure why it mentions to rotate the wheel when draining...

    Awesome videos. I used your Air Filter video to not only change my air filter on my 2013 F6B, but I also had to swap out the Water Pump (you have to remove the gas tank to get to that). Your video was a huge help with that big project.
    Doing the regular oil in a couple of days and then will do the final drive oil at the same time.

    I have a ‘14 Yellow F6B. I bought it last year. This year I’ve done oil change, coolant change, dreaded air filter change...found a mouse nest. I need to do rear drive next. Thanks for the video. Ride safe so your gremlin bell doesn’t need to be on high alert!

    i thumb'd it. great job, wat about , putting a very shallow 2 inch pan, and dropping the center stand and pull the big towards you a bit, a slight lean so you can get any extra final drive oil out? or a baster instead? i knwo theres still more in there.! thanks

    My question is when you broke the fill plug loose oil came out. But now when you installed it. Did you have too much in when you did the last change as well or should I put it on the side stand when I fill?

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  3 года назад

      Hi Mo's Motorcycle Journey, Good question. I can't remember if I had it on the side stand during the last change. Probably did. I don't think it maters that much because some of the bikes don't have a center stand. I'd leave the bike on the center stand if you have one and follow the manual. Good eye though, you could call a shop and ask them also but I'd guess it doesn't mater. Thanks for watching.

    Good Video, for me hardest part is being on the cold floor and then getting up! I have a J&S Jack, my next garage will have room for a lift table.

      Hi Mark, Thanks. Your right, that concrete is cold and hard. I'm thinking about a bike jack to. It's a bitch getting old :) Feels like that concrete gets harder, colder, and further away as I get older. The lift sounds like a great idea.

      How often do you change your oil? Is there a reason you change your final drive so frequently?

    • @donallachance1154
      @donallachance1154 3 года назад

      @@matthewlippert6864 every 5000 miles, when I bought the bike it had 14000 miles on it and five drops came out of the gearbox, figured I should change it more often so I dont have issues. Plus its cheap, so I do it.

    I have to admit that i'm somewhat confused by the amount of oil you put back in. The service manual calls for 4.1oz of oil replacement after draining the final drive. The bottle of oil you have is 8oz and it looks like you put far more than the recommended 4.1oz back in the bike.

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  4 года назад +1

      Hi Rollergoalie16, Your right. The manual does say 4.1oz. I watched the video again and it looks like I put in more than 4.1. I probably did. I also looked in the manual at the "final gear oil check level" area, and it says the oil should be at the bottom edge of the fill port. So I just keep filling until the oil can't stay in anymore and call it good because that's what the fluid level should be at when your done filling.

  • @340rps
    @340rps Год назад +1

    You want to install the fill plug immediately instead of leaving it drain. If you ever want to check the level all you need to do is open the fill plug slightly and some oil should begin to drain. and you will know it is full.

    Nice vid! I've been told not to turn the wheel when you fill it, this was on a Yamaha but I'm guessing the same applies to our F6Bs? I did see the note to rotate when draining though, so who knows?! Haha

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  4 года назад +1

      Ho Wretched Ride, Thanks. You could be right about not turning the wheel during filling. I didn't notice anymore fluid going in because I turned the wheel.

    You don’t need to pour the oil into the syringe, especially out of a full bottle. Simply push the plunger all the way in, stick the fill tube into the bottle of oil, and pull the plunger handle out.

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks. For some reason I thought it would be quicker to pour it in since the fluid is so thick. Thanks again.

      No worries. My wife, who is a nurse, laughed at me when I did the same as you did with some tubeless bicycle tire sealant. That stuff is a lot thinner than oil, maybe she was laughing because I initially forgot to block the open end of the tube! 😂
