Definitely going to delete my account if reddit doesn't change their ways. They would be nothing without their users.
Not to mention they are discriminating against their blind users!!!
I see, said the blind u/
Can't wait for internet historian to cover this in a few years
Thanks for explaining. I basically only use Reddit for some niche hobby groups and didn’t understand what was going on. Great explanation
Same here lol. I go on a sub for tabletop mini creations and one for prank calls. Nothing mainstream lol. Gonna suck if those communities go dark on me.
If Jun 12 fails, expect Jun 16
Thank you for explaining this! I was confused why so many subreddits were becoming private or being removed.
It's the present. Reddit's servers are not working, they are down or something like that. The valuation of Reddit stocks can't stop falling. We are winning. Steve is losing.
bro, i literally didn´t touch reddit for like a year or so and how that i need to look something up, this shit happens
mood
The first time I saw this nonscense was when I tried to look up the future episodes for 'Bob's Burgers season 14' to see what people are saying about them; at first I just assumed that the site wanted to wait untill that season is officially airing which will be in September, but then I started to see it on sites that have absolutely nothing to do with the show.
I wont even have internet on the 12th so this will be easy.
Dang.... well, good luck with that I guess. LIVE FREE OF TECH OPPRESSION!!!

Sucks to be someone that only goes on two niche subreddits all the time and see them blacking-out over a greedy CEO. I get the bigger picture and bite my lip, but it's gonna SUCK if we lose r/HeroForge. It's my primary creative outlet.
Listen. A portion of Reddit wrecked the stock market….one does not simply mess with reddit.
Not even Reddit messes with Reddit
Is it just me because Reddit website is not working on safari on my iPhones 5c
Well i would like to be upset about not being able to browse, but since Reddit banned ALL MY ACCOUNTS and keeps banning new accounts, it seems like i won't EVER be able to use Reddit again, like for my whole Life..
lol reddit was not working for me and it led me to these videos :P
Well r.I.p Reddit
I deleted reddit because of the egotistical moderators on many of their subreddits. This doesn't bother me at all. There are much better apps out there.
When i saw the title, i immediately clicked
Felt like it was clickbait but there's some weight to it.
If you want to protest against the API changes, you can DELETE your Reddit account and write them why you deleted it (when you delete your account you can write the reason why you are doing it)
NOOOOO IL MISS r/BATMANARKHAM

Meh...I'm sure this will go over like a lead balloon. These types of protests rarely work, reddit admins will get their money one way or another.
Sad but true. It's almost _almost_ like boycotting google. Too much of the overall internet intertwined to it.
I believe it’s not shutting down, that kind of 3rd party apps are more popular than Reddit!
Seems like business as usual on Reddit idk. 🤷♂️
Anyways it doesn't bother me , I have Android
Already down😭
bruh I literally just started getting into using reddit and im only on one thing there and I logged on to see a bunch of people saying "Goodbye" so I guess all I can do it pray that this stuff gets reverted because I dont want to lose something I only just started and that I like
Wait what?
How much would these 3rd party apps have to charge their users to survive? Would all these people really not pay $5/mo for their favorite Reddit app?
They can’t really, according Apollo reddit is going to charge them some astronomical amount per year and it’s impossible to keep going. I believe the numbers are in 7-8 figures every year
MRGA
Well it's a good effort but *this isn't gonna work* as the twitch black out didn't this won't too.
But screw them 3rd party apps have loads of features and customizations Reddit won't add till..... who knows as betterdiscord does what discord prob will paygate to get more discord nitro subs!
Yeah i agree 100%
Most likely this won't work but I guess we'll see
Reddit is still up. Fake news.
the website itself didn’t shut down, but a shitton of subreddits went “dark” and privated the subreddit
The app itself isn’t going down, the users made an agreement to boycott and many subreddits placed themselves on private so the users are forcing the app to go dark or be made unusable for the allotted period of time as a form of protest.
@@golddvstwomvn its not just the subreddits that are participating anymore. all of the other subreddits that didnt participate in the blackout are going down regardless due to some technical stuff that im not gonna bother going deeper into. as of now, the entire home page is entirely unusable, so maybe it did shut down in some sense???
Eating those words now buddy lol
@@genralty it works just fine for me
Removing access from 3rd party apps, not shutting down. But nice clickbait title regardless!
If you listen closely, 40% of all subreddits are going down, or in other numbers 95% of the top 10k subreddits are going down, so it won't be usable
@@Furry_smasher And nothing of value would be lost, tbh.
@@FurryQueenYT what's your favorite subreddit?
@@waterandcereal my favorites are ForwardsfromKlandma, Tankiejerk, and even more
@@coporalmirabelle652 was asking them but ok
